I love this Dollar General! The staff is super friendly and always willing to help you. The best part, you never have to go searching for the cashier when youre ready to check out. The staff pays attention to their customers even while they are on the floor stocking.

I would have a better rating for this store but they always keep the handicap loading and unloading Zone full of junk and it makes me very mad I've talked with store managers I've talked with store employees and they continue to put their junk in the handicap loading and unloading Zone. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that those striped lines are there so that someone in a handicap van can unload their wheelchair and not smack into somebody's car. I'm also pretty sure that there are some laws against that sort of thing but I don't know how to pursue it. The employees are generally Pleasant the shelves are generally well stocked I'm not bashing the Dollar General at all but whoever runs the Calhoun store needs to quit putting their store merchandise out in the handicap loading and unloading Zone in front of the store it ain't right or Fair to the handicap that want to utilize their store.

While older and not as bright and clean as newer DG locations, Calhoun's store has the same good selection of merchandise for daily needs. Worth a stop.

Good clean friendly and the only grocery store we have for miles since our IGA's were closed in Calhoun and Livermore Kentucky ,was a real pain during holidays
