Stopped in with a friend simply from other ratings. Ordered the special of the day, pulled pork with fries and slaw. Relatively small sandwich that tasted like it was prepackaged. I opted for brown beans instead of fries. Probably shouldn't have. Nice portion, but absolutely no flavor. Slaw was very good. My buddy got the roast beef special and had virtually the same responses, although he did like the Mac and cheese. My apple pie was supposedly made in-house, but tasted like it came from Walmart. My buddy got coconut, but could hardly taste it due to being 90% meringue. Should also have asked what the daily special price was. Total bill was double if we'd ordered from the menu, which had fairly nice prices. Service was friendly.

We arrived at the charming General Store in Augusta, KY for breakfast. The country-style morning meal was both comforting and delicious, served with exceptional hospitality. As we enjoyed our meal, we couldn't help but be captivated by the intriguing merchandise and historical displays that enveloped us, adding to the overall delightful experience.

Historic building in in a beautiful old River town! You will love the decor, the ice cream counter, all the yummy homemade food! Very well priced! You could dine inside or outside on the patio or go down to the river and sit on the bank and watched River traffic. There is a ferry here and it makes for an unique day trip

I drove 35 mins to visit Augusta and stopped in here to have a burger. The burger was so good I returned Friday for another one and also bringing my wife along. She had the catfish which was also really tasty.

Great destination to eat while wrapping up a relaxing day trip/drive from Cincinnati or surrounding areas. Quaint local eatery THAT IS NO SMOKING which is a huge plus ! Other local eateries are SMOKING ALLOWED which is a big negative for non-smokers. Besides non-smoking they offer a hotplate meal with friendly service with a small/intimate dinning experience. Not too mention they have some interesting antiques to purchase if interested.

Good sized portions, good prices, but at times can be a bit slow on the service side. The chili is excellent, as are the various pies. Menu is large, which might keep the food from coming out faster. Specials are always a good choice as well. Staff is always friendly. As a former restaurant manager it needs a detailed and deep cleaning. It's not dirty, but could be sparkling.

There is a classic, timeless appeal to the General Store. It has an old-timey counter you can sit at with a fantastic ice cream bar. They serve real food. The kind of stuff you'd make at home if you had the time (and talent). The pies are great and homemade. It's a beautiful setting and you can shop some interesting one-of-a-kind crafts, antiques and other items while you wait. Great place to grab a meal and an ice cream to go while you stroll along the Ohio River and enjoy Augusta's great views.

It was just okay in my opinion. No one to seat me when I came in for lunch. One woman in the kitchen and one guy out front. I asked for the special of chicken salad on a croissant, but they didn't have any croissants. Had it prepared on toasted white bread. It was only so so and nothing special. Lot of fries, but not homemade. Just frozen verity. Nice old decor inside of the very old building with antique store downstairs.

Really bummed that the food has gone down hill since the pandemic. We look forward to a good drive and homemade cheeseburger. Now it’s just a frozen patty with soggy fries. I would rather pay more and have the old food back. Service was great both guys were buzzing all around.

We had a great meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. Staff is very friendly. Homemade cobbler with a scoop of ice cream was delicious. They have a small gift shop in the basement. It was a great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back

Saw a worker hit a customer’s child owner did nothing about it. Ordered a burger but if tasted like those white cattle frozen burgers. There was dust around my table as if no one ever swept.

My husband and I ate here over the weekend and we enjoyed every bite. It was a neat place as well, you can go downstairs and see all the different items for sale. Our waitress was pleasant.

I go there quite often, and it's by far one of the best places to eat! Everyone there is very pleasant, the food is great, very pleasant atmosphere! If anyone is ever out and about I'd strongly suggest going here!

If you’re looking for good food try something else. I got battered catfish and there was no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. Food is bland, basic.
