We came in to purchase a floor lamp for our parrot that came with a bulb .they allowed us to exchange the bulbs that we had purchased for our lamp one was to long for our lamp and we felt the other was not bright enough for him . They are always so helpful and friendly every time we shop there. I will continue to keep doing my business with Bert’s pet Center. Bert’s is hands down the best pet store I’ve ever been to. I started going to Bert’s with my parents over 20 years ago when I was a child. Now that I’m an adult I still love going to Bert’s. Their staff is all super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I spoke with the owner there over the weekend and told him that I remember seeing him when I was a young kid. Super nice guy. If you have not been go check them out!

I absolutely adore this place! About two months ago I went in and bought myself a betta, 10 gallon tank, and some live plants and only spent about $50. The betta (photos attached) was in pretty good condition and the way they keep their bettas is amazing! I would definitely recommend coming to these people for betta fish and basic tank needs.On the other hand I noticed the birds are very skittish and appear to be stressed. Im by far no expert at birds, I only have two parakeets, so I may be wrong! I also noticed no staff is ever really around/helping customers with the smaller birds but only the bigger more expensive ones.The customer service also isn’t the best in this store, I’ve had to ask several times in the same visit for help for the same thing rather it be getting fish, asking for recommendations or etc.The bunnies (as of the last time I was in the store) we very friendly and socialized, same with the ferrets but they did nip at me completely understandable as the sign said they could and might bite.The dog and cat section, though fairly small, is pretty good! All the necessary things for your animal and some cute extras.In all, the prices are a bit high but you really get what you pay for, your $12 betta from here is going to be in better health than your $4 betta from pet smart. I would definitely recommend for people looking for fish stuff (fresh and saltwater) If you’re looking for a smaller bird then petland or pet smart will be the way to go with more socialized smaller birds.

Bert’s is an amazing family owned pet store. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. I purchase saltwater fish and coral regularly and have found them to have the most unique inventory. Everything is always properly cared for and looks amazing. I travel from 1.5 hours because it’s that good. They are the best in the tri-state area hands down!!!!!!

I have never been to a pet store in which the workers and the store manager have been any better and more helpful. We have shopped with Bert’s for about 5-6 years now and have never had a single bad experience. We have a salt water fish tank and any time we have questions, need help, or want to make new additions to our tank, they’re the place we turn to. They have been very supportive, helpful, and we love the beautiful salt water fish and coral we buy from them. We recently bought a sea hair, some snails, and a piece of coral and never had to think twice about any questions or concerns we had. It’s very easy to get help, and I would recommend this store to anyone! Here’s some random photos of their beautiful fish!

Hands down the best experiences I’ve had in almost any privately owned business, but especially in a Pet Store. I travel an hour each way and pass by many box pet stores just to visit Bert’s. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I recently had a reef system have a seam split and the owner Jim went out of his way to reach out to the manufacturer to expedite the warranty process on it to help. Couldn’t ask for better experience!

This place is family owned and operated an they have the best selection of animal supplies for almost any animal. An the fish an reptile selection is amazing. I highly recommend this place. Ashland ky is where it's located. Bout 25 mins from me an worth every mile to go an see these wonderful people an pets.

Guy said they kept redtail and tiger shovel nose in stock over the phone the day before I called. I drove like 90 miles to look at them and possibly get one but when I got there they had neither. Plus there was a small arrowana and they wanted $100 for it. I could have one shipped to me cheaper. While they do have a big selection they gouge their prices imo. I won't be back myself.

Brought our big baby, Colt in for a full groom. He was only 10 months old and had never been to a groomer before. He is a Great Dane and weighed 110lbs. Yvette, the groomer at Bert’s did a wonderful job!! He looked and smelt so good. She even got his nails trimmed and ears cleaned. I highly recommend them!!

Traveled from Charleston as we have no pet stores that carry big birds in the area. The store was amazing! The staff was very nice - one lady told us all about Cassie (the Macaw) and even got her out for us to see. Their pets seem well taken care of and socialized. Will definitely come back if/when I decide to get a bird!

What a wonderful place. Had my dogs groomed there. Yvette is super. Very nice and great with the dogs. The staff for the store were always helpful while we waited for our dogs. Thier prices were so good. You have to check them out.

Called a worker yesterday they said they keep tiger shovel nose and red tails in stock. Drove 90 miles and they didn't have either and the prices are sky high anyways.

Didn't go inside how to send a friend because they don't have any kind of grocery carts for me to hold on to. And I'm a huge fall risk. And they don't also have a electronic scooters or wheelchairs. I feel one of these has to be added in order to ensure people with disabilities can get around your store.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The lady on the phone was rude and would not work with me at all. I once recommended this place to everyone about how great you guys was but I will definitely recommend the new place at the Ashland mall. DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. I don’t trust someone who can be rude to me to shave my dog.Yes, my dog does have it rabies shots I told her on the phone. I never said that she didn’t have her rabies shots at all.She wanted me there before 4 when I appointment was at 5 after I had asked the day before to bring her to early. I live an hour away.I told her I would have to find the paperwork and I will call my vet and get proof if you don’t believe me. You can give other shots at home. I never said I gave her the rabies shot at home I am not that damn stupid. She didn’t have to be rude on the phone and if you are so worried about their safety maybe you should ask for it the first time animals get groomed. You groomed my dog once that makes absolutely no sense. There is the whole story if you want it. I see that you don’t believe the customer kinda bad service and you basically are calling me a liar and I don’t appreciate that.

At Berts you will find friendly and helpful staff. One of the best aquatic varieties you will find in the area. The items and pets are reasonably priced. They offer animal grooming in house. If you don't see what you are looking for, ask the staff. There is a good chance they can order what you seek.
