Very friendly staff. The building was clean and well maintained. Service was performed quickly and thoroughly. Plenty of parking out front. Prices were on average for most vets. I've been bringing my pets here for about 5 years and they are consistent on quality.

George has always received veterinary care from Ashland Animal Clinic and we have never had a negative experience. Our baby had a medical emergency on September 8th and we took him to the Animal ER where we received terrible news of a large tumor that we knew nothing about. We were told "take him home and love the hell out of him." We called Dr Pinkston the next morning to tell him the news and seek comfort care options when he requested the images to review. We were finally able to get them to him on Monday the 11th after a long weekend thinking our baby was crossing the rainbow bridge many times. He called within the hour recommending emergent surgery to remove the tumor which we decided to do. He made it through the surgery just fine. He had some post-op issues that were all addressed timely and appropriately. They treated him with great compassion. A little over a week later, we received the results from the tumor which unfortunately were not good. However, had Dr Pinkston not done the surgery, we wouldn't have our baby today. I have no doubt he would have died in a few days. Whatever time he has left, we want it to be quality time. We are so thankful to be given that opportunity and words cannot express our gratitude. Great friendly service. Our pet needed to have surgery. It wasn't an emergency but Dr Pinkston said it needed to be done as soon as possible. He came in on his day off just to do her surgery. She is doing great. What better service could you ask for.

Very nice staff, clean and always busy. More expensive than other vets, it is difficult to get appointments. Getting into the parking lot can be difficult and unsafe, so be careful. The parking lot is black top and very unfriendly to animals paws during hot days, so beware.

I am very impressed with the staff and atmosphere. One of the technicians brought Gya back to the room and asked if we knew that Gya was a dork?! She was right on the money. Love this place! 🐕

They were able to get my cat in ASAP for a dental emergency and scheduled surgery next day and have him doing great now. The care given and staff was amazing. You don’t realize how urgent these services are until your animal is sick and needs help.

Took my dog there they were okay with him took a cat to them and they didn't even want to treat him or help figure out what was wrong with him until they had payment in full my daughter was there by herself because I was at work 17 years old was sitting there bawling her eyes out and they didn't care they just worried about the money aspect try to take my sick 10 lb dog there today and they wouldn't once again because I only had a $250 creditto my care credit card ?? Which I thought that was the whole point of having a care credit card? If I pay my bill monthly? But nooo they want it all now or won't see the animals.. I've heard nothing but bad things and had bad experiences with Ashland animal clinic and very good things about Martina animal clinics haven't been there but have a better feeling ab them

I recently moved to ashland and about a month ago my female cat started having episodes that almost looked like seizures. I took her to this clinic and after doing x rays and paying $300 they told me that they were “stumped” on what’s wrong with her. I took the time to do MY OWN research and figured out that she has feline hyperesthesia.Fast forward to today, I brought my same cat back to be spayed. When I picked her up after her surgery they told me it was a whopping $250… I had no idea that it would cost that much considering i only paid about $40 to get one of my other cats fixed at a clinic in Barboursville when i used to live in west virginia. i didn’t say anything and just paid the $250… I got home and my cat kept ripping off her cone. I called the vet and asked if i could come pick up an inflatable collar instead and they said that was fine. When i got there they told me it would be $15… I’m usually not one to complain but i asked if i could just go get the cone from home and bring it back and switch it out because i just paid $250 today. They said that they couldn’t do that. I walked out pretty frustrated and very unhappy with the ashland animal clinic. I will be taking my kitties somewhere else from now on.In response after they left me a comment on my review, I will say that I DID NOT sign a single paper that had prices listed on it about my cats surgery, so that was a lie. Also, they did not seem “more than happy” to exchange the cone for me. After I had asked if they could, they told me no, they could not. So I took that as NO, THEY COULD NOT EXCHANGE IT FOR ME. That is why i left “abruptly.” They never offered to go ask a manager after standing there for 15 very awkward seconds right before I left.I decided to take the time to call around to other animal clinics and not a single one comes close to the price that the ashland animal clinic charges, which is why it was such a shock.And as far as me calling back after my first appointment with them when i paid $300, they would not have told me any different. They said they had no idea what was wrong with my cat, so they couldn’t have said anything different to put my mind at ease. Ashland animal clinic is a joke.

My dog, Bella, had a medical emergency that her regular vet would not get her in to be seen for. However, when I called Ashland Animal Clinic they were more than accommodating and have been ever since. She had surgery immediately and great follow up care. Would absolutely recommend this clinic! We won’t go anywhere else now.

I can not say enough good things about this facility. I went through my first big scare with my first dog I have ever owned on my own and like everyone else he is my very best friend. So when he came down ill it really took a toll on me. At first I had taken him to a local animal hospital that I wont mention but I just was put through the ringer never seen a vet they had no answers for me really just left me in the dark and trying to have his xrays blood work ect. Transfered was also a nightmare. I came to ashland animal clinic and was greated each and everytime with a wonderful attitude by staff, the doctor came after surgery and thoroughly went over what his opinion was and what we are doing moving forward. The vet techs I dealt with never made me feel silly for my concerns and were just so comforting to me and believe me I was a mess through this whole thing! If you have concerns about your beloved pets bring them to this wonderful vet clinic, you will not regret it! I included a post surgery pic of my beautiful boy! Also he is happy and healthy getting suture out tomorrow !!

The staff was friendly. Our last Vet didn't remove our pet from our sight when giving shots, nail clipping, etc. This Vet did. We do not like that.

I was very pleased with my service and how well they took care of my pup! The only thing I would recommend is for what I brought up to the technician, to be brought up and reminded to not only me but also to the vet. I wanted to talk about one thing and completely forgot yet the technician had made notes about it. It would have been nice to remember or had the help of remembering about this one other very critical item. now I have to come in and pay for another visit to have them check out my dog for it.

Dr David Pinkston is excellent veterinarian. I have taken my rabbits to see him several time. Including for an emergency surgery 2 days before Christmas on what was suppose to be the first day of his vacation. He saved my Snowball's life with that surgery. I would recommend this clinic to anyone, especially those with rabbits.

We came in with our ferret who had been having troubles using the bathroom because they were one of the only vets in the tri-state area that even saw ferrets, but it was a waste of a vet visit. The vet tech was visibly disgusted with touching him and barely spoke to us. They took him to be “examined” by the doctor, and we were told he “probably had a bladder problem” and to come back in two weeks if he wasn’t feeling better. Four days later he wasn’t feeling better and the only doctor that saw exotic animals wouldn’t be there for a week. We ended up going to the Proctorville Animal Clinic that did SO much more for him and told us he was in a lot more pain than just “probably a bladder problem.” We are going to a specialist in Columbus now when he probably should’ve been seen a week ago if he was given a proper examination. Ashland Animal Clinic should probably stop saying they take exotic animals.

Very friendly and helpful staff. My dog loves coming here and gets excited when we pull in. Pretty good price for the meds and treatment we have gotten with convenient call in refills that are ready for pick up the same day. They are all helpful in explaining any questions or concerns u may have with your pets care!!

Was told $450 to Bob a kittens tail.Not including the visit!They really try to charge you for as much as possible.If you love you animal do not take it here.They want to treat symptoms not heal your pet.So you give them as much money as possible.

Even though Covid has changed the way things are now, they work with you so that you are comfortable with taking your pets there. I really appreciate that they allowed one person, masked, to go with my pet. They moved quickly and there was little wait time. Polite and friendly staff.

My brother and I had a horrendous experience here a couple of years ago. I thought I posted my review here when it happened, but I had too much to say and there were too many characters to fit in the box, so I typed it up on Facebook instead and forgot to put it up on Google. I recently met a man named Neal and it reminded me about the devastation Ashland Animal Clinic caused, and I became haunted by the traumatic ordeal all over again. I hope that by posting it here, I can relieve some of the grief and save someone's pets from being victims of malpractice like ours were. I love you, Neal, and we miss you dearly.

Our son's husky had a medical need that our vet couldn't address as she was away, we were advised to call this clinic. They got our dog in the same day. Our son reported the staff to be very nice. The vet was very thorough n took time to explain, reassure him and offer any future needs. It's been a few days now, our husky gal is doing better, while on meds, and we'll follow up w our vet. Thank you to this team for being there for our dog!

5/9/23 Tuesday was the hardest day of my life. I had to put my best boy Moe to sleep. Even though he was 11, it didn't make it any easier. The look in his eyes wanting me to take him and not understanding why he was there and why this person was taking him away broke my heart. The employees of the clinic are caring individuals and I would recommend them to anyone who has a fur baby in need. A special shout out to Tammy McKinney, thank you that made my day better. In time, when it's time you guys will see me again. Thank you all.
