I raise cattle in Mt Sterling and try to only eat the beef I raise. I struggled during the last few years to find somewhere to process my beef. I have had many experiences. I am so pleased to have found AW Meat House. This place is so clean and the people are friendly and knowledgeable. It is a different experience from the dark slaughterhouses that I have had to use in the past. My beef was all vacuum sealed and cut neat and packed clean. Very impressed Thank you!

Meat is great, customer service, not so much. We ordered pork yesterday and were told they couldn't cut up the meat because they were cutting beef at the moment. So we placed the order and said we'll probably come back the next day because we live 30 mins. Away. Called yesterday at 5, and they said it was ready. Boyfriend goes 1st thing this morning, and they said they don't have it!! I've tried calling several times (during business hrs.) And No answer. Time was wasted because we were lied to, and we are without our meat.

We bought a 1/4 of a cow. It was a great value. Very friendly staff and the are willing to cut your beef how you like it.

Dropped off an average size buck on November 26th. Asked for the deer to be cut for jerky. Was told should take about 2 weeks to be ready. Paid my $100 deposit. Well, 3 weeks later after no phone call, I called them and they said it was ready. So I live an hour away and drove to get my deer. I waited for about 20 mins and had to pay the balance due which was $25. Well a guy came out and said my deer wasn’t ready because where it was to be cut for jerky I needed to give them a 3 day notice. So I went home called back 3 days later and they said it wasn’t done because they were slammed for Christmas, and could I wait til Wednesday? I said yes, I could wait. So today December 27th, I made my 2nd trip and picked up my deer! I haven't weighted it yet, but I’m confident there’s not 25 lbs of meat. See the attached photo. RIP OFF!! Been hunting a really long time and have had several deer processed. There’s no way I was given my whole deer. Called my buddy that told me about A&W and he said he received 7 bags of meat from a small doe, which he had cut for jerky too!

Had an 700 lb animal go in and had a hanging weight of 352. We were initially given about 245lbs of meat which means we lost over 100lbs. After an hour and a half of arguing and searching they came out with another box, this would still be about 72 lbs discrepancy. With bone loss this doesn’t quite add up. I wonder where so much of my meat disappeared too. Furthermore, they didn’t follow any of the packaging instructions.

I dropped off 2 steers and a heifer for processing. All of my customers were super satisfied, and staff are super professional. I sold 1/4s on 2 animals and they handled instructions with ease. Also, the cutting yield that I calculated on one of the steers’ boneless 1/4s was close to 60% from that hot carcass weight which is pretty good considering the animal was holstein. Thank you guys!

Can't beat their selections of meats. Prices are really good, and the staff is very helpful. They will also do special cuts. In this area, that's rare. I would highly recommend them for all your meat and poultry needs. Generally shopping, BBQ, and Meat Smoking needs. Nice Butcher Shop hiding in our area!!!!🍖🍗🥩🌭🐂🐖🐐🐑🐓 Give them a call or go check them out. You won't be disappointed!!!

We've purchased a whole hog and a 1/2 a cow. They did an amazing job on getting the cuts we wanted. Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. The quality of meat you'll get is definitely worth it!

Decided to stop after seeing signs for it & check it out. So, off the main drag & beaten path we go…Pull up to a well Kept & interestingly decorated building.Inside is a nice sized, clean & decorated @20x40-ish showroom area with glass refrigerator/freezer units facing you as you walk in.Everything is labeled what it is on the bin of meat. All the packaging also states what it is & then gives you the price of that specific item.They have a large selection of cuts on beef. A decent option for pork & typical chicken selections.They also have frozen meat options, sides & other offerings. (Cheese sticks, tater tots, mushrooms, jalapeño poppers, fries, cheese curds, various veggies & all sorts of breakfast offerings & other options.)Plus a central shelving “aisle” with various sauces & condiments (I’m presuming it’s mostly more for the RV camping park just down the way.)There’s also a smattering of candy, and other purchase options such as t-shirts or small stuffed animals.)Everything is clean, bright & obviously well cared for.The pricing is on par with store prices & def more expensive than The Chop House (our fav for cut, quality, TASTE & pricing - but an hour 1 way from us & in a direction we simply don’t go - makes it a deliberate stop instead of convenience).Overall it was a good experience & the cuts and quality are def worth the extra stop if you’re on Industrial Parkway or near Grayson, Cattletsburg or the surrounding area.Another interesting side note is that they do provide butchering of your livestock. The pricing for that is def fair & reasonable.We will call to verify if we are able to slaughter our own bull & simply bring them the quarters to process. Or, do we need to deliver a living critter to them.We prefer to slaughter our own to avoid the stress or anxiety hormones rushing through the animal, which then essentially destroys the best flavors.

We stayed at the KOA across the road and stopped by here for to stock up on some meat for dinner. They have a very nice selection of local meat as well as offering alot of spices and rubs to cook said meat. Price was decent and the ribeye's and bacon we left with were amazing! We alwsy try to find a good local bucher when we travel and this place made our top 10 list. I am trying to plan a route back through here to stop again and stock up the freezer.
