This is a great place to run to when I need something. The prices are decent, the wait is typical, and they have a large variety for the type of store they are. Since I work at the high school, I can count on running to DG quickly if I've forgotten something, from that day's lunch to an item I need for a lesson or a club activity.

The staff was very sociable and courteous. And yes some isles were a little messy but i have seen patrons take item and then decide they dont want it. So instead of putting it back where they got it they just lay it down anywhere.just my own observation personally i like the store

sure beats a long drive north just to pick something up... from snacks, milk, lots of canned foods to greeting cards, auto supplies, cleaning supplies... you can almost name it and they will have it. Recently got some drain cleaner there. Thought about it after trying their house-brand Awesome cleaner I had heard so much about... great stuff at a great price.

I was looking for something that I had forgotten to get at the grocery. I'm so glad that they are starting to carry more special dietary need foods. Gluten free is top of the list that is needed in every grocery store.

Every time I have been in this store over the past four months I have had to wait in line due to only one register open. The other employees look up from what they are doing (or not) but make no attempt to come help check people out. Today was no different. As I went up to get in line an employee looked at the line then went back to stocking shelves. I made no attempt to hide my anger as I asked why there was only one cashier and the other one was clearly not attempting to help. Others in line were agreeing wholeheartedly. This store needs new management that knows how to run a store!!!

Walked in today to all the isles blocked with inventory that needs to be put away. It was hard walking around with a stroller because things are laying all over the floor. Fire hazard!

Workers are so friendly..I love this store. Way better than walking miles thru Walmart. They always carry everything I need for a great price!UPDATE: 05/23/2020 I would just like to thank all the staff there at Dollar General..they are always working so hard and still have time to be super friendly and helpful! I could name everyone by name but I am afraid but afraid I would accidentally leave someone out. I absolutely adore all of the new staff. I meant to write something nice about Kay while she was still there, loved her a lot and miss her smiles! This is the crazy cat lady guys! I love you all to death!!! I wonder how many crazy cat ladies their are in Alexandria!!! I am the one who feeds the raccoons and oppossums too. Great staff, great prices, always very helpful. Sarah even helped me install Dollar General app on my phone since I couldn't figure it out. And she always reminds me to use it..love her..Thanks everyone for risking your lives coming to work just so we can have what we need. All are Angels in my book..every single one of them.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😇😇😇😇😇

Very close and convenient but lately when I stop there they are closed with no explanation posted on the door. Seems like they need some managerial help.

You couldn't get through the iles, it terrible, they leave cart's, full of empty boxes, sitting in the way you couldn't even get a cart through. I tried to go in cleaning iles couldn't even get them, the hole store was a mess. I think I made my last trip, is ashamed to, your prices aren't competitive, anymore I can shop else where for less, no hassle. Sorry, but the Dollar General just isn't what it was.

Perfect place when you need to grab something you need and get out quickly.They sell everything from over the counter medications and groceries to cleaning and lawn care products. Many of their prices are lower than those at the big box stores.

Store hours posted online as open until 10p. Drive 15 mins only to find that doors are locked at 7p.

I just bought the rest of the valentines day stuff and most of it was only 10 cents each!!!! I bought wayyyy to much for until 6 dollars. Definitely about 50 items or so

Nice little store you can stop by and grab pretty much anything you need or want. Staff pretty friendly!

Store is usually messy and a lot of stuff is never in stock or at least it's not stocked on the shelves. And you can almost always count on having to wait in Line to check out.

Good prices on certain items. Great place to run in for a few items. Their receipts have $5 off $25 good on Saturday.
