Cottingham Ace Hardware in Alexandria KY is a great place to rent tools! The local owners were fantastic in answering questions and getting me the tools I needed for pouring/finishing our new concrete in our pole barn. We have also rented a trencher to run water and power to the barn and Snow Cone machine, cotton candy machine and popcorn machine for parties! I recommend them!

I was literally in side the store for 2 second I walk down a aisle they turn the lights off on me I was greeted when I came in and never told they were closing just turned the lights off while me and my family in a aisle what a joke

Cottinghams Ace Hardware is a great hardware store. I love supporting a local business such as this family owned store. They have a lot of inventory and are close by for everyone in Alexandria. I’ve rented equipment, bought paint and pick up all types of stuff for our house. The boys have done a great job running the store. I’m sure their Mom and Dad would be very proud.

Stopped in for the first and last time. Asked if they could help me find a tire and what I was met with was attitude and told it was impossible. Went right up the street to tractor supply and they found in in less than ten mins. Super disappointed.

If you need a mower riding cub cadet, this is the place . The guys there are knowledgeable, friendly, and quite frankly great at their jobs . When I'm ready for a new mower I will be going here .

Small Town hardware store. Nice atmosphere. Offers variety but definitely steers you to certain products. Check quality of birdfeed, as there are many flying moths around the seed bags

Buyer beware of returning items. I purchased a Kerosene heater for a cold spell. It smoked so badly I couldn’t use it. I attempted to return it. They wouldn’t except a return on a brand new item stated due to “to many people returning items after the cold weather.” Instead they offered to fix it. They did so, which was very nice. but after the cold spell. Then charged me to fix a brand new item.

All the basic needs from a hardware store and more.Friendly staff, knowledgeable and there to help. Plus it's like the past hardware stores and sells everything you may need to take care of 4 legged predators on the farm and those 2 legged ones.

Charged me for a broken tooth off a piece of rental equipment. You can clearly see the fresh break and and the old breaks that are rusty. I don’t mind paying for something I broke but this was clearly old damage I got hit with. Man at desk oblivious that rusty cracks and fresh look differently .

Stopped in to find a solution for my landscape lights. I had an idea but they didn’t have exactly what I was looking for. A very helpful young lady listened and looked and the parts I brought in. Made a couple suggestions and one turned out to work great! Out the door for under $4. Highly recommend it.

Absolutely the worst ACE hardware around. Completely ride customer service.... The guy rolled his eyes at me because I received an email to come pick up my order and when I got there it wasn't ready. Don't waste your time going to this store!

Not real happy at the moment! I dropped off my Stihl chainsaw and specifically requested a phone call with the estimate, as my chainsaw is older but its all i can afford. No one called, the saw was "repaired" and now someone named Joe (said he's the owner ) is yelling at me and threatening to sell my chainsaw!!Why is any "business owner" yelling at me

They carry hard to find products and they are more convenient to walk through than a giant Home Depot super store.I have purchased three reliable Cub Cadet small engine machines from them. Their hired store help are always friendly.

Ace hardware what a wonderful spot for all your home improvement needs, I just became a premium member and I get digital coupons and I also get to take part of the reward point system where I can earn money towards any purchase, you can stack them up to, I have around 2500 points, roughly $100 in rewards that I can spend. It takes awhile to get it but definitely worth it if you go there a lot or are remodeling your home.

Would not recommend ordering parts from them or if you do, call to make sure whatever it is was actually ordered. I ordered a spring for a walk behind mower late Monday, they said it should be in by the end of the week, awesome. Come to find out by Saturday that it hadn't even been ordered because they didnt have a big enough order. If they had actually taken the time to call me a lot sooner to let me know, I would be more understanding. Now I have to order the part online, all while the grass is only getting more and more overgrown. Lack of communication on the company's part.

Had to rent a Drane Snake for sewer line and the prices were better than their competitors and the deposit was half what I would of had to leave at the other places and the people were extremely nice and helpful and I also needed some plumbing supplies and told them what I needed and they brought me straight to what I needed and had everything I needed- I would highly recommend this store if you have and parts or supplies I can guarantee they will help you with a smile !!! THANKS FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE !!!!

Terrible. I dropped my law mower off to be fixed because I was told it would only take one week. I left instructions for them to call me after they figured out what the problem was, so I could decide if I wanted to fix it or trash it. After about three weeks it still wasn't fixed and I called in for about the third time. The guy that answered was rude and argumentative! Still no call after weeks so I called them. Turns out not only had they done the diagnostics but they had also done the repairs! Also, the teenager behind the counter told me that the work had been done for weeks! When I got there the teenager told me that they had called me but I must have missed their call! Hello people! Cell phones these days have call logs. All I had to do was check my phone to see that she was lying/wrong. Anyway, the only redeeming quality of this please is the manager that was working when I picked up my lawnmower. He was courteous and apologized for the other people that worked there.

Much better experience than a big box store that is a number of more miles down the road, and then you can't find anyone to help or answer questions. Most times the young people behind the counter are not real helpful until you ask a question... then they either you help find what you need or find someone else that can help you.
