Very caring and knowledgeable people at this shelter. The shelter was clean and tidy.I was able to foster the dog I wanted before I committed to adopting him. They try very hard to match the animal to the person.

They do great work here. If you are looking for a new dog or cat, check them out first.

The people who run this place should be commended. I cried about four times because I couldn't take them all home. We adopted Frances as our newest family member a couple of days ago, it'll be a good life. Thanks to all of the ladies and gentlemen that do this everyday.

I was getting frustrated because I didn't know what I was supposed to do if I was supposed to bring the dog in to get fixed or not well, I finally got a hold of someone a very nice lady that helped me. They are working with me to get these little ticks under control. I appreciate the help. A good place when you can't afford the high prices of vets. these people want to help because they care.

They are awesome!!! They will give you food for your pets if you need it. No questions ( other than name and number). If anyone knows a veterinarian that's willing to do the community some good they can sure use one. I can't thank the staff enough for the wonderful work they do2/11/2024 update. What can I say about them. They are still totally awsome and doing the good work. Think they have vets now for spay and neuter clinics. I set up my Dillons account to donate to them when I shop and when better times come again plan to donate more.I can't thank the people there enough for what they do.

People were very nice not informative though did not talk to much or seemed in lack of knowledge about their pets. The dont put all 150 kittens there on the site to be adopted shame because so many meow and need homes. They didnt push us into adopting a dog but did push us into adopting 2 or 3 cats I can understand why with that many kittens there and not enough room. Not only that the place smells of heavy mold! Dogs barking in the back kittens meowing up front and grabbing onto people as they pass by if I was rich I wouldnt have minded adopting 10 kittens but I'm sadly not! This place needs to me more organized and more informative and checked for mold! The outside locks good but the inside not so much. But I can sort of understand it's not noticed from the roads and it's down a hill basically sits in a bowl of grassed areas. Once you go in doors your hit real hard with mildew mold smell not wet dog! Wet dog does not smell like mold I owned 4 dogs in my life time i know the differences. I also live d in a molded home 10 years ago i know what mold looks and smells like! Notice there are no older cats there mold kills old felines. Mainly kittens here.

This staff is a joke, sold their souls for a few dollars of funding rather than do the right thing like their job. They claim they have gotten 40,000 adoptions in 15 years but how many have they put down in that same time? Bet they will not answer that. This is what you killed...

My experience at this place was terrible to say the least I and my fiance were going to adopt a pup or a older pup. The website lied about the type of dog and prices. The Facebook is the only way to contact them. And when the pup we decided on was was "not ready and needed Training on Monday." We never got a call from them about the pup. We contacted them and went in on Tuesday was told "we do not feel we can let you adopt the dog and we are moving her to a rescue shelter." Then showed us a pup that needed all its shots when the pup has been on the site for close to 6 months. So I suggest not going if you want a dog, great for cats though. They pushed hard for cats on us. We are not big on cats so we respectfully declined.

Cowley County Humane Society is the best. I think I looked at every cat and took them out to spend a little time with them. I was able to take my time and find the perfect one for me.Thank you for allowing me to do this.

Such a great and caring staff! We tried to adopt from 2 rescue places. Both required us to have a resident dog in place. Why would we want to bring in a strange dog to replace a current dog?We adopted the sweetest little female puppy! All shots, spayed, micro chipped. We are so blessed!

This review is for Mary Chapman. She seemed to be very helpful at first and I got her the info ( a $60.00 health certificate) she needed to take a Momma and 2 kittens and then she decided to ignore all my phone calls and emails. In the meantime I had both kittens fixed and shots there was nothing left to but help them find homes. Very disappointed!!!

I volunteer there sometimes. The staff needs as much help as they can get. And I highly suggest the public get involved by attending the board meeting.

I came looking for a dog twice, and left both times with disappointment. The dog i initially wanted they told me the first time that she would be available next week. The second time, she's not available at all. In fact, no dogs are available. They are only interested in moving their cats from them to a home.

CCHS was able to take in a dog I found chasing my chickens. I feel like she will be taken care of there and hopefully will find a forever home that doesn't let her roam.

When I adopted my cat, Skids, I was able to bring my dog, Newbie to help select him. Recently, I found a cat that had been injured and was ill. They were helpful and took him in and are helping him heal and will find him a permanent family.

They seem to have a lot on animals..the people are very nice ..but the place smells like urine it's enough to make your eyes water when you walk in. We did go into one of the places to get to know an animal and it was filthy they really either they need help or they need to clean a little more I'm not sure which it is but they do have a lot of animals and I hope that people can help them

The girls that spoke to us say that they are not taking in any animals, nor are they adopting any animals out. I don't know what they are going to do with the animals they do have. I've been told they don't keep them but for a short amount of time, especially felines. I don't even want to mention what I've been told they do with the feline overpopulation. It is not humane, that's for sure.
