i got my cat fluffy here a couple days ago, she is the sweetest baby ever. i already love her so much. the staff was so kind and helpful and i can tell they all really love doing what they do to help these babies.

A true highlight and incredible resource of Wichita, just south of K-96 on Hillside. The passion and caring of the staff at KHS is the highest of any organization in this fine city. The work being done here for these animals is outright heroic. I applaud this city shelter of pets and believe it to be as great of a humane society as any state could hope for, and of course give my highest recommendation to the city for dog and cat adoption or shelter.

The staff was super nice and facility was well kept and clean. Was sad seeing all the babies with no homes. Had a great selection of pets young and older.. There cages were clean and they all had food and water with beds and blankets and toys. They had a great pet store with selection in the facility. Was priced to buy we got our cat a engraved tag with his name and my number also a collar. Was great coming here. Would rate it 5 stars!!!

We brought our 2 dogs in to meet a puppy we were interested in, they took the time to make sure they would all 3 get a long. We came the next day and adopted the puppy. Was very pleased with the experience!

Volunteer experience is great with wonderful behind-the-scenes help and many great pups and kits to see. The animals are all treated well and I haven't had any complaints about how I've been treated, personally. A lot of the animals are happy and well-fed and they will be if you give them time here, though I hope all of them get homes quickly and safelym

We adopted a 2 yr old wonderful cat. The place was extremely clean and the animals well cared for. The girl, Cara that helped us adopt was so interactive with my 11 yo grandson! It was a great experience.

My pet recently passed away and I took him to the Kansas Humane Society to be cremated. They were very professional and caring through the whole process. Kudos to Austin and the young lady whose name I did not get for being so patient and thoughtful during such a difficult time. Thank you.

Actually went to the dog park behind the Humane Society. My dog loved being able to run around and not having to drag his human Handler by his leash. I, however, wish there were things for the dogs to do other than run around in an empty fenced in area

People shouldn't dump pets. Also when I found a kitten in a bush and I took it there so it's owners could find it they put it in a box and dropped the box on the floor. They had me sign a paper and were very cold towards me. I was just trying to make sure the kitten would be fine. That was the last time I would ever and I mean ever take any animal there. It was so unprofessional and that kitten didn't deserve that.

Facility is extremely clean. Has volunteers and staff working around the clock to keep cages clean and to socialize animals. They have enrichment treats for all the animals which is really cool. Animals are priced appropriately. Smaller dogs are priced higher because they are more likely to get adopted! That helps them take care of the bigger dogs who sit there for longer. I think this is a wonderful place to have in the community of Wichita. They do it all for the animals. Not the profit.

Everyone was so very kind to me .I was very distraught and emotional coz my cat my very special kitty, Polka Dot, had passed away. We had to have him cremated. The young man who assisted us even let has have a minute to say goodbye. I am so very thankful you all were there.blessings to you!🐱

I had to surrender my dog in august of 2022. When I was able to re adopt him I called and called and called. No call back. No one ever picked up the phone. It’s ridiculous how many times I’ve called trying to get ahold of these people. So for anyone in the reviews that happens to know if a mixed breed dog (husky mix looking) named Otto was adopted please reach out.

I just adopted the best doggo ever from here, people call this place a killing field but I believe it's people who need to be retrained that dogs and cats are family and aren't to be discarded I saw a level of care here that was good, people were sad when they knew they had to put down animals. They do the best they can with what they have and I commend them for helping the animals that they are able to help like this beautiful girl, who has now found her furever home

I have gotten 2 cats here since I moved back to Wichita and both have been amazing experiences. One was a foster cat and the other a brand new kitten. Both very good experiences and they are my best friends. Highly recommend supporting pets and Human Society is a great place to find everything you need.

My husband and I had a very good experience adopting our kitten from here. We arrived earlier in the day on a Saturday and only had to wait about 10 minutes. We were able to walk around freely and explored their little shop while we waited. Every staff member we talked to was very friendly and helpful. The adoption process was simple and smooth and didn't take long at all. I would definitely adopt here again if we decide to get any more animals in the future.

My girlfriend and I went here a few months ago to get a dog for her. We ended up with a dog and a cat because I fell in love with this affectionate cat. After taking the dog home we realized she was coughing a lot. We took her to the vet and found out she had pneumonia. Also her spay stitches were infected after the humane society did it. As for my cat, her spay. Stitches were also infected which took a while to heal. Also after taking her home, I realized my cat had big cuts behind her ears from scratching. After a couple days I realized what it was and had to treat her for ear mites. It took weeks to treat her and for her to heal. She had to wear a cone throughout the process.I'm happy to now say both our animals are fully healed and happy but it was a lot of money spent and tons of time making sure we were to doing everything in our power to help them recover.We got in contact with the humane society via social media and the only response they'd give us is that it's illegal for them to give us sick animals...which is exactly what they did.Adopting pets is an amazing thing to do and I applaud shelters for keeping them safe. But this one is like a prison where you sit in your cell with no treatment for your illnesses and wait to be bailed out.

Got both my dogs there. Really good place I got my cat there as well. They provide you with a bit of food to get started with your animal as well. Very friendly. Sometimes quite full so be prepared to wait
