The gentleman at the gun area blew me off, and continued their conversation as I stood there waiting for help. The fishing guys helped out a lot. Took pictures instead and will spend my money elsewhere. Sad customer service is getting bad, use to be much better.

An impressive outdoor clothing and equipment store on the Northeast side of Wichita, just South of K-96 on Greenwich. There’s a massive inventory here of everything imaginable for outdoor hobbies and lifestyle. I recently found what I came in for at a great value but most of the time the pricing here can be shockingly high around the store. Cabela’s signature collection of mounted animals is spread throughout the building and the departments are merchandised at a top level so this place is always worth a look when in the area.

Awareness is essential. If you are involved with one customer and have no backup in your AOR call for help when other customers are waiting. I waited for about 30 minutes while 2 employees never checked their areas for more customers waiting. This is a pretty basic thing folks.

Came in to grab a quick online pick up order & was admiring the big game display while I waited for them to grab it!A gentleman named Jim approached me & was not only extremely helpful but such a ray of light! He was extremely knowledgeable about the animals on display & so fun and positive. Made my whole day!This world needs more Jim’s!

My husband and I always have a wonderful experience at Cabela's/ Bass Pro. Every time we go we enjoy looking at the mounts and it seems like we always find something new. As far as the merchandise it is top notch! The joke is I spend more than my husband almost every time!

We were there on New Years Day. My husband had two items he was using a gift card for….the total kept coming up far more than the items were marked. Finally, on the third try, it was correct. By this time, he was so frustrated, he did not notice that a shirt he was checking out for me rang up at far more than the actual cost. I only noticed this morning as I was checking bank and of course, don’t have the receipt now. Nice store, but pay close attention at the checkout! Not sure if we will go back.

The first time I came to this store it was freezing outside. Let me tell you how they warmed me up. One great tasty cup of coffee. I actually enjoyed the hospitality so much I signed up for a membership. I never do stuff like that, but it was such a pleasant experience. Great stuff to choose from but one thing I was looking for they didn't have. I came in looking for a propane gun for searing meat and they Don't sell the item.

Forever lost my business...terribly rude firearm salesman. Went to buy a pistol that my 20 year old daughter could also use at the range with me. While looking at the first pistol and making sure that my daughter could comfortably handle it, the salesman said he wasn't going to sell me any pistols because he believed I was buying it for her. I explained that I was buying it for myself but wanted to have a pistol that she could also shoot at the range and also prepare her for a concealed permit for when she is 21. I also stated that if I were to ever gift her the gun I would properly transfer it, but it wasn't the intent. Didn't matter - additionally his lack of tact and rudeness was ridiculous. I spoke to the firearms manager later and he said that it's company policy and that it's "frowned on" if I intend to gift the gun. I again explained that wasn't the intention and I wanted my daughter to be able to gain experience shooting a pistol that she is comfortable with. I'll spare further details but this was my second terrible run-in with this guy at the firearms counter. SHOP AT SCHEELS - they won't treat you like a criminal. Cabela's Silver card is now cut up and will never step foot in there again.-Look at all the other terrible reviews regarding gun sales from this place. Corporate hasn't done anything about it despite writing response to any unhappy customers.

Great store with everything you need for the outdoors. I picked up some flannel shirts for 18 bucks each…very good deal. Also little carhartt coats for the dogs.

The Wichita store has really fallen off in its customer service. When it opened it was great. Today it’s very poor from the sales floor to the checkout register. Staff has attitude as if they don’t care whether you shop there or not and rarely ask if they can help you. There’s a reason that Scheels’s is packed and Cabela’s is not.

Imagine this. You walk into the store to spend your hard earned money. You find the product you like, request a price match to another competing vendor and you get treated like you are trying to rob the company. A simple price match of less than $20.00 dollars does not require the cashier to grill you and look at you like you are trying to rob the store. To top it off, you inform them you are a veteran and they ask you with a disrespecting tone to prove it. Sorry, condescending eyes and tone of voice, along with words mean something to the customer. A little basic respect and treating customers with respect go a long way. If you are in the Wichita area, avoid this Cabela’s like the plague. I am professional, and unlike the cashier that checked me out, I won’t mention names. I went to the Academy Sports store across the street and was treated warmly, with respect and even saved a lot of money. Your best bet in Wichita, avoid this place.

We lot docked here on our way from Colorado to Missouri site was fantastic for our needs easy in and out. The staff was very nice when we called to ensure it was ok to stay over night and the oncoming staff was just as nice when we were leaving.

Purchased another high power air rifle for squirrels and other varmints. For all of our outdoor needs, this store is my local playground, great knowledgeable staff excellent variety of wares great atmosphere

Cabelas never disappoints! Plenty of sales and great selection on ammunition if you swing by here check out there preowned inventory some of there guns are a steal!

The short guy in the firearms department needs an attitude change, he was rude right when we walked in, had no intentions in wanting to sell us a gun, we could tell by the way he acted he had a bad attitude, we asked if we they had a certain kind of gun, he just said they may have one in the back, but just stood there, finally my husband asked to see it and he sulkily went and got it, We wanted to purchase it and a Ruger, he asked to see his drivers license, in which my husband had left at home accidently, So I offered to put them in my name, in which, I always put the guns in my name, my husband doesn't like to read all those questions on the registration, because he cant read very well. No, the guy said, I cant sell it to you, I have to see YOUR license, Then he acted like my husband was a criminal, Said how do I know he is not a felon!!! Seriously, He doesn't know us from Adam, how can you accuse us of something like that!! It was VERY offensive, We are American born and raised, we do use our guns to hunt with. That is ALL. I will definitely put the word out to stay away from the Wichita KS Cabela's, Another guy that was behind the counter said it is ok to use mine, NOPE, the little guy said, they both went in the back and never returned...…Finally we just left. Never again, not until Cabela's get rid of that guy!! I read some of the other reviews so this is not the first one on him. I would think Cabela's has more respect for their customers than that. I, too, am ready to cut up my Cabela's credit card, It is not that important to me, to be down graded like that. And we are 65 years old and never had been treated like that.

Went here to purchase a hand gun. My background is clear and my sisters background is clear, they took our ids went to the back came back and said “I don’t feel comfortable selling to you” they didn’t even help us in the first place, just stood there. I feel like this is racial profiling because we aren’t white. How are you going to deny us when our background is clear?

Rachael at customer service was fabulous! We were visiting from out of town, It was our first time and everyone was extremely helpful. All the sales folks were wonderful to Interact with and the fish and animals were fun to look at! If we come back that way - we will be back!

As a business, we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars with Cabelas for our wildlife company.Because I have 2 houses and a business location, they refuse to sell us firearms at your kansas location when I've bought dosens at your OKC location. We have both of your business credit cards and have never been problematical customers.The gun was a Christmas gift, we will look at Academy who has offered to sponsor our company for years and think it over as far as accounts, there really aren't perks of using you guys for our company other then you have things Academy doesn't, but they offer 50% off feed and hunting equipment with there sponsor programs.Having you guys flat out refuse to sell to us today I don't think we will continue our business relationship in 2024...

I recently ordered a case of 12-gauge shotgun shells from Cabela’s online. Needless to say, it was a huge disappointment. Apparently “plain jane” Federal pheasant loads, 2 3/4 inch, 1 1/4 oz of 4 shot are geographic ammunition unicorns as I got random boxes of ammo in different boxes in the mail. Not a case. Random boxes. 1 box had the top taped shut and it was an obvious return. I lifted it out of the packing box and the bottom fell out and it was absolutely beat up. I’m hoping the local Wichita store will make it right, but I thought it worth while to call this ammo travesty out. If your paying full price, you expect it to look new in the box not what I got.
