The restaurant is VERY CLEAN! Including the decorations! We were made welcome, greeted with “Hola!” and seated quickly. Our server brought menus, chips and salsa, and drinks quickly. And spicy, hot salsa, and delicious, real Mexican cheese dip. Yum! We both ordered fajitas. My husband ordered Molcajete Dinner, and I ordered Fajita Jalisco. His came in a large black volcanic stone bowl. Sorry, I was so focused on my own order, I didn’t get a picture of his. Everything was delicious! Mine was more than I could eat, so…breakfast! We also enjoyed icy cold Mexican Cokes, made with good ol Cane sugar. Needless to say, I needed a go box, and even the box told me they were glad to serve us. We are VERY glad they did! Great choice for great service, and food! We highly recommend Tropical Mexican Restaurant in Waheeney, Kansas!

Fantastic local place. The guac is made fresh and we ate half of it before I remembered to take the photo. We had the Polo Cancun entrees (shrimp/chicken) one meal was way more than I could eat! Super tasty! The salsa is fresh with a rich tomato flavor and a hint of heat! Will be added to our “stop here for dinner” list on future trips through the area

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday at 1145. The inside decor is bright and appropriate. I was brought a menu, a glass of water and the standard Mexican restaurant chips and salsa.The chips were warm and I think made in house. The salsa was definitely homemade and had a wonderful flavor to it. It wasn't extremely hot, although it did have some heat, but what made it different was it was sweeter than most salsa, probably a spin on the Tropical theme.I ordered the special, which was "Pollo Caribean" or something like that. It came out quickly, with beans, rice and a couple warm tortillas. The food was absolutely delicious, although I picked a few shrimp out that I don't care to eat.But overall the food may have been the best Mexican food I've had in along time. And I eat out alot... usually at locally owned restaurants and lots of them are Mexican themed.This place gets so much right... if someone orders "the special" it should be out blazingly quick, which it was. So the speed of service was fast enough and more than appropriate.The food was great, the price was a little high, the chips and dip before the entree came were amazing. The staff were polite and professional. I will definitely return and encourage others to eat here... support local restaurants.The bonus, they sell their homemade Salsa to take with you... I bought a jar to take home for my wife and kids to try... Great job tropical Mexican restaurant!

A very convenient location just off the interstate. Very tasty food and a lot of menu options. And the large portions let me save some for breakfast in the morning too! (Eating them now!)

My husband took me here on our way back home. And we both got the beef burritos and the beef had a very bland taste even the onion in the beef had zero flavor. The refried beans were like soupy no beans seen in it with no flavor. I couldn't eat mine, my husband ate his almost but said it was very bland like eating nothing with flavor. When I told our waitress she didn't want to accommodate me in any way of discount. My husband told her we would just pay so we could leave but I was upset to think she didn't even want to hear nor care that I didn't enjoy or have dinner. Just rude. Will not eat there if we pass through on our trips to my daughter's again. Also don't like eating with flies.

Spent $100 to have young, unruly white kids through food at each other and act like they have NO HOME TRAINING!!! not a place for black people to eat unless you're into dining with ANIMALS!

Arrived at 1 pm on a Monday. Only one wait staff. Waited 15 min for a seat while the lady went to every single person in the half-empty restaurant to see if they needed anything else. Then, instead of FINALLY seating us, she went to clean a table. Ten open seats nearby were available. Do NOT patronize this establishment if bad customer service infuriates you or if you need to eat and be gone with 90 minutes.

Amazing food and experience! I highly recommend Tropical Mexican Restaurant. We arrived at 9:10pm when they were closing at 9:30pm. I had called ahead to make sure this was okay. When we arrived, we were the only people there to eat. They were kind and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing. They clearly could have closed given no one else was there. They had such a positive attitude. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend eating here!

First time visit. We were impressed right from the time we entered the restaurant. The menu selection is outstanding and the food is just as good. Prices are very reasonable. Service is prompt and professional. The restaurant is well decorated and clean. We'll be back anytime we're in the area.Parking: Handicapped and other spaces are available.

Been meaning to change my old review for a while now. The food is still great, but the staff always overcharges us. We deliberately went for the cheapest stuff on the menu ($10.99 each), and when the employee was putting it into the register he entered $13.99 each. That’s not the only time it’s happened. Every time we’ve gone there they’ve done this.
