I brought my rabbit here because my usual vet clinic was not equipped to perform the next level of tests he needed. Every single staff member was amazing from the moment you walked in, to when you left. We had Dr. Guernsey, and she was so informing and caring about his situation. Auggie did not get the diagnosis we wanted to hear, but he has had a wonderful life, and was loved by all!! Thank You UVCC

My husband and I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to put our girl down. I called several placed trying to see who would be the best option for us, and we landed on University. They were by far the most kind, helpful and compassionate people I spoke to on the phone that day. We set our appointment the next day and we were greeted with patience and sympathy all around. They were extremely gentle with her and explained the process thoroughly to us before doing anything. This experience was painful enough, and they did everything they could to ensure we had the time and space to say our goodbyes and grieve the tremendous loss to our family without it feeling transactional on their end. It hadn't sat right with me that we chose not to get her ashes back, so I called two days later and asked if there was any way we could get her back. Mayree didn't hesitate to promptly go above and beyond to make sure we got our Lulu girl back home where she belongs. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility and have actually set an appointment for our other dog to begin going here as well for his health care. The kindness and compassion from these folks is unmatched, you can tell they truly care about animals.

Our experience was absolutely wonderful from the moment our tech came to the car to escort us in the building. Our pups are only 7weeks and haven't been around other dogs so they take that into mind. ( this is very appreciated.) We went straight back, the technician got Acquainted with our pups and explained the process and what would happen the Veterinarian came in, Was extremely kind and knowledgeable He was also extremely gentle. The process seemed to go pretty quick. And we are extremely satisfied with our visit and will be back for our follow up in a few weeks. I thought the pricing was good as I called around prior getting estimates. The establishment was clean and smelled nice.

Had a great first experience here with my leopard gecko -- Everyone I encountered was friendly. Dr. Utt and Mayree were both kind, gentle, and helpful. This was my first time needing to see a vet for an exotic pet, and they were just as attentive and compassionate as I would hope to encounter at a visit with my cat or dog. Definitely worth the 40 minute drive should my gecko need care again in the future.

I love the vets that work here. And the woman who usually works the front desk is awesome too! Came in for an appointment today 1/26 and I had the same fabulous treatment by the vet and vet tech, but I will say I did not enjoy speaking with the person that was working the front desk this time. She told me that my total was one price and then when I tapped my card it said a different total. It was just a couple dollars difference so I really wasn't too worried about it. But I mentioned that I needed to switch a couple more dollars over, and the person said that it was because I had a bill on my account or something like that for when I did a fecal test a couple months ago. I tried to explain that it really wasn't a big deal and the person continue to explain it to me. So I told them that I was kind of in a hurry and that it was just a couple dollars. It really wasn't a big deal. After that the person was not pleasant. I said thank you and please several times to which they responded with "mhm".As the customer, and somebody who works in sales/ customer service, I think the front desk associate could have done a better job at managing their distaste for me. It's definitely possible they were just upset that I was asking so many questions about my bill.. but as somebody who has spent quite a bit of money at this establishment, I didn't think it was too forward for me to inquire about what I was paying for. Anyways, as I said I really like this vet, hence the 4 out of 5 stars. I only hope the usual lady was just on vacation or something!

I absolutely love this practice and the staff. They have always done everything they can to help my animals and stay within my budget. I have been able to get appointments next day. Aside from our Vet in Florida, this is the only vet I have met that cares about the animals more than the money. I was so scared to leave our vet behind in Florida but feel so fortunate to have found UVC.

The clinic was referred to us and we are extremely happy with them. We have a cat that needed care quickly. I called Monday and they were able to get us in Tuesday. Tally, our cat, had abscessed teeth and was in a lot of pain. We left her in their care overnight so they could do surgery on her Wednesday. They removed the problem teeth and she's doing well!!!! Would definitely recommend their office!!!!!

My name is Frank. My back legs stopped working, and getting around had been tough. I went to University Veterinary Clinic and got a thorough exam and chiropractic adjustment. I found it very relaxing, much to my surprise. Over the next week or two, I began to move more and strengthen my muscles, steadily improving since that visit. I'm getting around pretty well, going back in a couple weeks for some catupuncture treatment. I give it 5 out of 5 toebeans! Meow!

Great place! I was referred by my regular vet to possibly surgically remove an obstruction in my labradors stomach. Doc reviewed, investigated and gave us other options. Assisted me in booking an appointment at Kansas State to further identify the issue. Big thank you to Dr G and the whole staff!

I've taken all of my pets over the last 25 years to University Veterinary Care Center, from hamsters, hedgehogs, canaries, parrots to cats and from routine check-ups to emergency visits. Dr. Snyder, Dr. Gratton, all of the doctors and staff are amazing. They're caring and knowledgeable, I've always been able to get an appointment when I needed one, and I get call-backs to check up on my pets after treatment. I highly recommend them.

I have taken my reptile, a leopard gecko, to both of the nearby exotic pet vets in the last month, Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Lawrence and University Veterinary Care Center in Topeka. Even though Gentle Care is closer, if I have a choice I’ll be making the drive to University from here on out.The vets at University were kind, understanding, and friendly. The doctor I saw with was empathetic, non-judgmental, and seemed very knowledgeable about reptiles. Their office is clean and homey and didn’t smell like fear and pee upon entry, as most vets offices do. I’d highly recommend taking your exotic pet to them!

I like the fact that when you arrive, you park and text what space you are in. Many people don't understand that some animals, specifically dogs, do not like being around other animals. Dr. Utt was awesome. Very thorough and caring. She was professional and attentive. We checked my dogs lumps. I felt happy to be there and you can tell they care about their work. Kristyn was very nice on the phone.

I have spoken with probably 15+ exotic vet offices trying to find the best fit for my ferrets as I am a fairly new ferret owner. I have visited two offices including this one & will definitely make the hour-ish drive to this office for my ferrets every time now! Dr. Gratton was great, very informative and responsive to all my questions. All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly. My ferret recieved an implant for adrenal disease - It was super quick & their confidence and explanations of everything was comforting. I even recieved a call a few days later to check on how my ferret was doing which I have never had a vets office do for any animal. Highly recommend!

I have a Presa female with a tear in her ACL the chiropractor treatment made a difference in her walking and how she places pressure on that leg. I was throughly impressed as they have a couple of chiropractor they do Chinese medicine and were so kind and gentle with BellaThey also do acupuncture there as well. I like the Care they gave Bella I will be going back for more treatments

I had never visited before but I recently needed some care for my red-eared slider. Making the appointment was very easy and they had an opening the next day. I like their "waiting-room" policy of just waiting in your car and letting them know you've arrived for your appointment. The doctor and staff were all very caring and informative. They took care of my turtle's needs and took the time to educate me on what I needed to know. And I was happily surprised by their pricing! I plan to contact Univ Vet Care Center for all my pet appointments and concerns from now on!

I really like University Vet Care Center. Sometimes it is difficult to find 'Ferret' knowledgeable Vets, but this place has a few Doctors that deal with Ferrets, which is great. I have 4 Ferrets that go to University Vet Care.

This clinic is great very friendly and they were able to get us in a timely manner. We had a sick bearded dragon. This is one of the only places in town that will take care of lizards. He was very knowledgeable and or 12 with my kids and teaching them what they needed to do to help our little beauty recover.

This place is excellent and the only place I trust with the care of my two rabbits. Have visited multiple times for emergencies and regular check ups, and all the staff have been nothing but kind and understanding. The place is clean and they are so gentle with all the pets. Have even had a vet agree to come in the middle of the night when closed to give life saving care to our rabbits.

University Veterinary Care Center is the very best! We completely trust everyone who is part of this organization to provide the very best care our pets can get. An added bonus of being one of University clients is that you can call off hours and speak to one of the doctors -- they always have a doctor on call to help with emergency situations and questions, and if needed they have you go to the office first thing in the morning, the next day, and will work your pet into the existing appointments. They make such an effort to give good care, always. The entire staff carry remarkable credentials and expertise. We love them and trust them completely.

My friend/co work tried to reschedule an appointment with them to get the pets groomed and they refused to see her.She had a problem with them earlier because of a nasty receptionist and wow I heard/saw how poorly they treated her.Careful whom you pick to handle your fur kids care… some places can be outright rude!

LOVE this clinic. Everyone who works here is lovely. One of our dogs is very anxious with new people and they are always so patient with him, by the end of his visits they're best friends. Clinic is clean and appears organized and well managed. Prices are fair and average for the area. We have seen multiple doctors here and have been very happy with all of them (we especially love Dr. Utt!), and all the techs are great! 10/10 would recommend (and have!).

This office was recommended to me by a Veterinarian family member because this office will see small, exotic pets. I have taken my chinchilla to this clinic to be seen acutely 2x now, and he has received great care both times! They were able to get my chinchilla in within a reasonable time. Doc took time to explain and show me what was going on with my little friend. And service has been great, everyone was very friendly! I would highly recommend!
