Only giving 4 starts because I'm not a fan of places like this in general.I stopped by on my way into the mall because I saw a puppy (pictured) that reminded me of my dog of 15 years who we recently had to say goodbye to and I NEEDED to take a closer look and have a quick cry... The store was clean, staff friendly, good selection of products & quite a few pets. They all looked healthy and well taken care of. Their cages were clean and they all seem to be well-socialized (and SO CUTE).

I get my rats from here. I dont use em as snake food, i keep em as pets. 🤣When they have ferrets to love on is the best day ever!!! Also love popping in to love on puppies too!

we met with a pet and the pet biting me and my husband and was out of control and none of the staff wanted to help terrible place would never go back. I believe that the pets aren't trained and that they locked them up and they're only human interaction is when you want to meet with them and they are given their food and shots.

Bought a dog from here back in 2015. When I bought her, I was assured they had done genetic testing to have only the healthiest puppies. In May of this year, I had to put my dog down due to a genetic kidney condition. Do not buy a dog from here. They do not actually do genetic testing or health screenings. You will end up with a broken heart and a dog gone too soon.

Bought a puppy and the financing was shuffled from the initial company (Credova) over to a debt collection company (Monterrey Financial Services) after the first payment. The total now listed includes the interest that would have accrued over the length of the loan from the initial company. So, instead of 3 thousand dollarsfor the dog, I am being billed for almost 5 thousand dollars due to the companies predatory practices.Do yourself a favor, never buy from petland.

We had a great experience at Petland Topeka. Fell in love with this beautiful Persian kitten. Staff are friendly and will definitely go back. We also think it’s great that Petland is supporting SCARS a local rescue shelter.

This company buys puppies from Amish Puppy mills, that do not perfom any genetic testing of any kind. They are in this to make money, they don't care about the customers heart aches after losing a pet to sudden Heart Failure at the age of 4 years old. Find a reputable breeder before your heart gets broken!

Not interested in paying thousands for a puppy. I asked for pricing to not waste my time and the person avoided giving me that information. I looked up some reviews and came across the information I needed. You aren't having puppies be adopted, you're selling them. Adoption shouldn't cost that much and regardless of the breeding and work done for them, it's not my concern. I can adopt a puppy. I do not wish to purchase a puppy. Change your marketing. And to anyone justifying paying thousands for a puppy, cool for you that you have those funds to spend, however you BOUGHT a puppy. You didn't adopt one. And yes I know prices vary on puppies but if I'm denied pricing information unless given in person, no thank you.

What a great place to get a kiss and a cuddle - from a puppy! The staff are very helpful and pleasant, chatting with us and answering our questions.Our granddaughters love to visit the puppies and give them some attention, as they do with the hamsters, mice, rabbits, and birds. Small animals are reasonably priced. The puppies, however, are a bit pricey. (Therefore, 4 stars.) The cost depends on the breed, its popularity, and frequency of availability. (The little guy pictured is $8,000.00 and is their first Tibetan Mastif, having arrived just today. Other breeds would not be that expensive. A year or so ago, another, smaller pup was around $2K.) The price also includes vaccinations, heartworm tests, a vet exam, a kennel, and other items. The store has a nice supply of pet supplies and toys. We do enjoy our visits to Petland!

Prices are outrageous, dogs are what breeders cant sell runts, etc. Supplies are 3x what you can buy them else where. Reptiles and herps are about dbl.market value. I would not suggest buying an animal here.

We just bought our 2nd ferret here. We also bought our first ferret here about a year ago. We decided he needed a buddy, so we immediately headed back to this quality location. Even though it's an hour away, the staff here are all so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, we won't do business at any other pet store when shopping for a pet. I love how the pets are all interactive with people rather than being in total lock down as at other stores. Especially with ferrets, they need human interaction, so they learn not to bite. This store let's you really see the type of personality your pet has long before you get it home. I love this store!!!

Excellent customer service. Went in to look at pups (comparing places) and walked out with Okoye! They weren't forcing a sale at all. Very cleanly store. Lily and Tyler were the people who got us situated but the entire staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely going back for our next pet.

We are so happy with our experience at Petland. There is no pressure and there are no selling tactics. In fact, you can feel that the staff really cares for the animals while striving to meet the needs of potential adoptees of them. We worked closely with Ron who was absolutely a consummate professional in all respects. He let us have as much time with the animal as we needed to make a decision. But he also provided us with a great depth of information about the breed and then specifically about the pet we were considering. It is so obvious and thus beneficial that he knew all aspects not just of the adoption process in detail but also of being a pet owner in general. He answered all of our questions and walked us through every step. We should be discussing the really great pet we got, but was so impressed with Ron and the other staff that we have to give them kudos here. The pet has a happy demeanor and seems to have been very well taken care of up to the point of our adoption of it, by the way! While much pricier than say the city pound adoption center where it’s more luck of the draw and you can get an animal with lots of problems, at Petland you do get a pet that has been well looked after, is a registered breed, and has a warranty.
