I shop at Dollar Tree REGULARLY instead of paying 2-3 times more for the exact same things at Target, Walmart, or other popular stores!I've noticed quickly how it has generated huge savings in my household budget within a month, and definitely in a years time!However, being from OUT OF STATE, it was my FIRST time shopping at this particular location and it was pretty interesting!From various ones, I got the weird looks, the stares of curiosity, the rolling eyes, some unexplainable body languages, even the old lady who INTENTIONALLY stops directly in front of you and pretend she don't see or hear you!!!Not sure if it was because my NATIONALITY differed, or that I was purchasing more than them, or that they've never encountered someone who is SPIRITUAL FREE, or an actual Human Being!But, NEITHER of that was MY PROBLEM, so my focus was to pay for what I had in my cart and go! Oddly, there was a horribly dressed, depressed looking, decaying smile, withered face lady, who came and stood directly at the self checkout I was using!It was EXTREMELY out of the ordinary from ALL the other Dollar Tree stores I've shopped across the multiple states that my job had sent me in the past, so I began watching her too!I discerned that IT was the store's SECURITY!!!HA!!! I could NOT believe it!!!Of ALL the people in the store, she chose to watch ME because of my DIFFERENT SKIN!!?It was NOT because of my attire, or that I was acting suspiciously, nor anything like that at all!!!IT WAS SIMPLY BECAUSE I WAS DIFFERENT!!!To test the situation, I asked my grandchild to stand in front of me so we can work as a team, and check out faster... As I scanned the items he was to bag them, and so on!WOW!!! To my amazement the security person moved around him to get a clearer view of what we were doing! Purely NEGLECTING to watch ALL the OTHER patrons!!!THIS DAY & AGE, you would think that with ALL the revealing YouTube videos and cable TV channels that expose when ACTUAL thieves mostly rip off stores, is the moment when security & owners are BUSY HARASSING those of COLOR who are INNOCENT!!!HARASSING the REAL shoppers that have money and credit to purchase whatever they want... Simply because they ARE DIFFERENT!!!So while she was so ENGULFED in our teamwork of scanning & bagging, someone could have been ripping the store off and leaving with 100s of inventory, and she would NOT have been the wiser! Smh.Finally, I pulled out my card, swiped, and got my receipt. My grandchild took 3 bags, while I grabbed the last one. Leaving her to look like the FOOL!!!We walked out of the store, hit the unlocked button that automatically opened the back door to the SUV, and there we placed the bags on the tray, and drove away!If I was a secret shopper, this store would have FAILED MISERABLE!!!

This review is primarily a result of poor customer service. We opted to use a normal checkout versus the self checkout and Aaron was the cashier, I’ve never seen someone so annoyed at having to do a job they are paid to do they also flopped the items in the bag so lazily I basically had to fix it as I was walking out the door almost dropping things, that alone was really aggravating. To top it off I was trying to be polite and still got that response. There was no reason for this at all.The whole place was pretty messy and chaotic too…

Always clean and fully stocked. I enjoy visiting this Dollar Tree when I'm in Topeka, it has a bigger craft section than my Lawrence store. I can count on finding exactly what I need every time I visit. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the self checkouts make it easy to get in and out quickly if you're needing something in a hurry.

I see all kinds of Pinterest crafts and ideas using Dollar Tree merchandise but none of those items are at our local store, so that's disappointing. BUT I was able to find some Easter decor things so it was a successful trip!

I like the fact that everything is $1.25 but the story is filthy they do they ever sweep the floor or vacuum the carpet, or sanitize and clean the hand carry carts. And where do they get their employees the majority of them seems like they have mental problems.

Some empty spaces. Selection of food seems somewhat limited from before. Was out of the main thing I was there to buy in the freezer area. Luck of the draw I would assume. Otherwise pretty much average experience other than the people were always nice and helpful over the last year or I should say over the last 6 months. I am still disappointed with the corporate decision to go to a dollar and a quarter. I believe their profit margins were not have been extremely affected and investors would probably have agreed if asked directly to stay at $1. But to but to expand within the store section with higher price products selections as a choice for customers who could afford such products.

Very quick. Over 5 employees working on a Friday afternoon before 5pm. Well staffed. Out of some items but that's to be expected before a holiday weekend. Store was busy but no real wait to check out. Good experience.

My wife and children were at the store over the weekend. My daughter asked my wife if she could have a toy that was a musical-type of toy. As my wife was looking at some product on the shelf. She heard a lady raising her voice from the other end of the isle. Initially she didn't pay attention; however, soon realized that the lady was speaking to our child. She said, "Hey! Don't play with the toy like that!" (Blowing into the trumpet.)While I understand, a child shouldn’t put their mouth on toys, we were planning on purchasing the toy.My daughter didn't know what to do, and looked to my wife for direction. The lady (turned out to be the manager on duty, Libby) then gets even louder (still addressing my 4-yr-old daughter from the other end of the isle, then says, "Bring it me! Now! I'm going to have to damage this out because you put your mouth on it." My daughter starts to walk toward the woman, in tears, and then Libby says, "Unless you mother wants to buy it..." Of course, we were going to purchase it initially, along with about $25 of other product; however, after this situation, my wife decided to get our items elsewhere.Very poor customer service, Libby. Go ahead and “damage that out” along with your customer service skill-set. Maybe next you could approach the parent, ask if they were planning on purchasing the item, and speak in a pleasant way.

This is a pretty good store. The staff seem to work hard to keep it all sorted and arranged which is a never ending job. It is usually fairly clean. I see You Tube videos from other stores that have a much bigger selection than this one. But I think those stores are probably located in cities that are bigger than Topeka. Overall, I'm usually pretty satisfied shopping at this store.

I only have one issue with this store, however, it is a huge issue. This is the only Dollar Tree that does not have hair products for black people! I usually go to a different store but I stopped in this one since I was on that side of town and could not get what I needed for my family. You would think this would not be a problem in today's world but it apparently is. I will not be returning to this location again and if I could give 0 stars I would.

I've been doing business with Dollar Tree in a lot of states for a lot of years this was the worst. The store was clean and well stocked, but the employees were untrained gave customers the wrong information and when you acted on that information they rudely told you you lied. I do understand that you get what you pay for but even for a dollar I expect it to work for 24 hours.

They have STOPPED selling the off brand perfumes.. I was very upset because I bought them for years!My Adult daughter had an Epilepsy Seizure after I got her into our vehicle because there was NO AIR-CONDITIONING running and other shoppers were Sweating also..Huge disappointment

I took my daughter to spend the money she earned from her aunt. She loves this place and always finds an array of items. I like to get cleaning supplies on the cheap. They have all kinds of snacks and are offering healthy options as well.

This place had exactly what we needed: kids toys. A pretty big selection of them and it was well organized. There were a couple employees tidying up the aisles, which is nice. Or maybe they were trying to look busy while looking for shoplifters... Either way, they keep the store tidy.

Customer service was terrible.DJ, the cashier, didn't acknowledge my presence at all; he didn't say hello, nothing. And after ringing my purchases up, didn't even tell me how much it was, he just stood there looking goofy, until I finally ask, " how much?".I don't care if you're having a bad day or not, if you're working cuisine service, at the VERY LEAST, speak to the customer and let them know what the balance of their purchase is.

I love that I can find all kinds of things here... from reading glasses to kids toys to air freshner/candles to containers to beauty products to cards for all occasions to car items & holiday items... and that's just off the top of my head. Where else can you get everything inside the store for just a single dollar?! (rhetorical q).

8 people working there.7 Re-stocking the shelves so slow that they nearly stop. They are 2 per aisle so they can talk more than stock.1 Person working the register with a line down the aisle.They think it's more important to stock the checkout fridge than it is to help checkout customers.Then again, it's the dollar tree...

Just came out of this store. The line was wrapped around the store. From talking to my neighbor in line he said this was a regular occurrence. The one cashier asked several times for assistance. No one came. Several customers went and found 2 more employees in the back, one which was named, Sarah, refused to come out and help the 1 cashier or send the other employee to assist. She told the concerned costumers the the shipment was more important. Wow, how inconsiderate. We felt very sorry the one cashier and she was working hard.Props to her and Shame on the other employees. Have some consideration and there needs to changes made. How disrespectful to your co-worker and customers.

I appreciate this store for it's value. Please tell me WHY it has to be so dirty? The store in general is horrible but try to use the bathroom? Forget it. There was human excrement wiped on the wall and floor. That place needs to take some Totally Awesome off the shelf and douse the whole place with it! Come on! Have some pride!
