Always friendly, I most times find what I went shopping there for. It seems to me it is one of the cleaner Dollar store I have been in beside the Dollar general on California Street.

Was a real atmosphere of helping each other. A young man told me to go ahead of him. Another forgot one of his bags on the turntable, someone ran to catch him before he drove off. Everyone was laughing and cheerful. Made my evening!

No matter what time of day you go in here you can always find s staff arguing with each other, 1 woman stocking and 1 guy on register. Each time my patience grows disturbed bc the lady's excuse for not checking customers out on the other register IS SHE DOESN'T HAVE A DRAWER?????WHY NOT???? THE JOB OF THE EMPLOYEE IS GET THE CUSTOMER TO SPEND AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! IF CUSTOMERS ARE IRRITATED WITH CONSTANTLY WAITING THAT WONT HAPPEN! THANKS

First time visit!!! Awesome I didn't see the cashier name but she was so nice and friendly!! Great customer service!! I don't even realize my items were on sale.. This was a win win visit.. It was a lil messy.. But they were working hard to get it together!!! I will be back.. Thank you!!

Clean well stocked store carrying a little bit of everything, from basic beauty, clothing, grocery, health care, household needs & seasonal items. Competitively priced brand name as well as Dollar General DG items are available. The store is opened more hours than not.

A hot mess... too few employees to actually keep it stocked and keep up with registers. Huge issue to get a mistaken rang up price fixed. Clearance is also a mess. Needs to stop worrying about staff money spent and worry about not losing ll their customers. It is close to home and we avoid it like the plague. We go across the street to the family $ even though they carry less variety.

I am a regular customer at the dollar General store on 6th and Golden. I absolutely love how all the employees are so friendly with me. On my birthday (12-20) I received some horrible news that was heart breaking. While I was celebrating life my uncle was dying in a house fire. I visited D.G that evening and the employees working that night new right away that something was wrong and asked me what was going on. I highly recommend everyone who wants happy, welcoming and caring customer service to visit the dollar General on 6th and Golden.

Racist cashier wanted me to leave my bag at the front while several white women wasn't told anything and they were greeted politely. When I asked why she said those women do not lose any threat. Wish there was a way to give less than one star. She is a joke.

Very friendly cashiers but the inventory is usually disorganized, hard to find certain items, and prices are next to impossible to locate! They still wont sell cigarettes to a late 40s grandmother though which is a crying shame! Not everyone has a driver's license or even any way to obtain a state ID.... there are MANY people who just dont necessarily have or always carry ID with them.....especially many mental and/or physically disabled people, shut-ins who rarely leave their house for any reason,victims of abuse/trauma, victims of theft (purse/wallet/Identity stolen),homeless or soon to be homeless,and people who are alone and dont know how to (or are afraid to) attempt to circumnavigate the insurmountable maze of hoops required to jump through, and the red tape to sort through and untangle in order to receive even the most basic assistance! Does that mean they dont have the right to purchase a pack of cigarettes if they so choose?? C'mon! I understand the selling to minors problem... but I dont understand how it's such a problem that an adult who is CLEARLY NOT able to even fake being in their early 40s ever again couldn't just give their birthdate and be done with it!I've been in this situation for a while now... it's hard for me to get out, impossible to walk very far without crippling pain and loss of feeling in my hips/legs, alone for the most part, no transportation, and the ONLY place within walking distance that I can afford cigarettes has always been a Dollar General! Its humiliating and almost soul crushing to be treated like a criminal just because I happen to smoke cigarettes instead of drink or take drugs (legal or otherwise).The clerk at the Dollar General on SE California in Topeka screamed at me and threatened to call the police because I politely asked if there was any way I could give her my birthdate??!! She said I was arguing and being combative and disruptive!I have Ashbergers and cPTSD, and just going outside by myself takes so much out of me that an experience like that can literally put me in bed with flu-like symptoms!It was like being gaslighted all over again and I was so stunned that I panicked and left without the items I had already paid for! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THAT ONE EVER AGAIN!I have been shopping at the one closer to me for over a year and a half now, and while they've always been kind and friendly to me, they still wont sell me cigarettes... for a long time it was either get food/ household items I need at DG, OR walk a further distance in the opposite direction to pay nearly 2x the amount for cigarettes at a convenience store... I just physically could NOT do both!

This place is a dirty and unorganized mess. You can barely get the small carts through the aisles because there is so much stuff that's sitting in the middle of the floor. Every time I'm in there using a cart I run into their stocking carts and merchandise stacked on the end caps of the aisles, which is a safety hazard for customers. The cashiers are always away from the register and you stand there forever or have to yell across the store that you're ready to check out which is very unprofessional.

This is a newer DG but they keep it clean and well organized. Defentily a differnt experience going into this one and some of the other ones we have.

Staff and manager are terrible. I asked for help with mobile app. She acted like i was bothering her. Manager talking about another employee out loud about theft. Just all around bad look.

Very dirty very unorganized. Homeless people out front of store at all hours of the day going up to cars asking for money very uncomfortable when trying to go in to grab something fast.

This place was a mess organization who needs that when u can just throw stuff anywhere and everywhere I was shocked kinda wonder if they are hiring for a manager cause they clearly don't have one. I'll straighten that store out.

I love the dollar general app, there are many coupons that will save you money! This store is fairly clean but seems to be understaffed.
