I need to stop stopping at every dollar general store there is. Why does one always have to stop at these stores during their trips. How many dollar generals are there. Every little town has one.These stores are the reason why small communities are still broke. When we stop in and get something it generally something we already know the prices of and know what we are getting in to.The whole point of the dollar store is to get you to think dollar amounts and to get you to spend a set dollar amount per month. If you were to spend 50 dollars at the dollar store per money for a year you would have spent 600 dollars on products that you could have bought far cheaper yet it would have cost you more out of pocket yet the product lasts far longer.Lets use some basic math for toilet paper. Lets be clear I hardly buy toilet paper since I have decades of supplies I bought many years ago and just upped my supplies again not long ago.Lets say a single person uses 1 roll a week which costs 1 dollar at the dollar store. So they will buy 4 rolls for a dollar. This results in a 52 dollars spent for a given year. Now someone else will buy a 96 rolls case for 50 dollars. Which is about half the savings yet it cost them 50 dollars out of pocket which they do not have. This is how the Dollar store keeps you broke. You keep spending 4 dollars a month for decades spending double the money when you could spend 50 dollars today and buy enough toilet paper for nearly 2 years in one go. If you want to save even more then you buy more toilet paper. For example I just ordered 960 rolls of toilet paper for $507.40 and this should last our family 10 to 20 years depending on use. That is 1 to 2 rolls a week. Which is more than enough. There is no way the dollar store is ever going to beat that deal. That is 52 cents per roll. Now if you want to break down the sheet cost vs mine and what the dollar store sell. i will still win in overall cost. Want to do paper plates, food film/foil, paper towels, parchment paper, trash bags, zip lock bags, tissue paper and anything else consumable wise and you can see that I not only invested in my future, i am not being robbed by a Dollar store.

A Dollar general like the rest. Currently or recently redone layout is good awful. Even more cluttered than before and the new checkout line setup is absolutely terrible. You can never tell where the line is as it now wraps and worms it way into aisles combining registers into one line and impossible to get past the person in front of you if you get done checking out first creating an absolute chaotic mess.allnof this makes the line build a clustered mess with a few customers.and even when there is a line, rarely opening the 2nd register

People are friendly, the store is clean and have plenty to choose from, and you can find most of what you'd go to the grocery store for at better prices

One of two DG's in Russell, KS. This one is a bit bigger. Both are good with a wide variety of items available. Good prices on dog food.

Horrible manager . Asked her where something was and she told me which aisle and I asked her if she could come point it out since there was no one at the register and she rolled her eyes and said yeah why not.
