These are the kind of people you hope you are always going to find running a shelter. They truly care about each and everyone of these animals from the very bottom of their hearts, and it is truly a beautiful thing to witness

One of the best run rescues I have ever encountered. Their staff and many volunteers truly care about the rescued dogs and cats. They are financially responsible with your donation dollar and when a volunteer work day comes along like maintenance of the dog walking trails, the founder is right out there with everyone else!If you check out their website, you’ll see they do many activities in the community including visiting a number of nursing homes with dogs every other week!Yet another well run program that has been happening for years and they consistently go every scheduled week so as to not disappoint the residents there. They always make sure to visit the Memory Care Unit and I have seen personally the amazing interaction between the residents and the dogs.It is so touching to see an unsmiling person in a wheelchair light up and smile when a dog comes up to them wagging their tail. This goes on thanks to Victoria who coordinates the visits. She even makes sure to visit those residents who love dogs but are bed ridden in their rooms. Again, seeing that person’s face light up with a big smile and interact with the dog is precious to the volunteer and that is reward enough.Their foster program is well run and most of their rescues are in foster homes where they get more individual attention and socialization . Ad far as I know, they have over 100 foster volunteers.Their dream is to have an animal sanctuary on the forty acres with individual dog villas and vet care available on the property. They care for all the animals rescued in their county at no cost to the taxpayers there which is incredible given there is no other animal shelter in the county. They also take care of the animals brought to them in Osawatamie at their former pound and don’t charge the city for that service as well. They also don’t charge for adoptions because they don’t believe love can be bought. Be prepared for a thorough screening because they want the adopter and dog to be a good fit where the adopters become their family andforever home. You wonder how they can afford to do all of this and I see they have supporters from all over the country…actually the world. They also work very hard at having fundraisers and even this aspect of their rescue is extremely well organized and well run. I think that is part of why they are careful with every donation dollar…they work hard for it and also respect the supporters who give from their hearts and give donations from their sometimes limited income. They also have a vet transport system to take their rescues to the vet. Sometimes it is long distances because they want the animal to go to the vet that is best for their need of care. Again, a very well run program with volunteers who sometimes spend whole days tending to the vet needs of the rescues. I have met Judy who is a volunteer and in charge of the vet transports and have come to know she spends most of her week transporting dogs adding up to well over 10,000 miles a year! That’s just the kind of commitment their volunteers have which says alot about their commitment to animals and their commitment to Always & Furever. The more I learn about Always & Furever the more impressed I am.I’ve volunteered in dog rescue for close to 20 years and have always sought out working with rescues who never forget that IT’S ABOUT THE ANIMALS and anything they do they keep their focus on that.As long as they continue to do that, they will have my support. I hope you’ll consider giving them your support too by either adopting, fostering, donating or even just attending one of their events.Check out their web site and you’ll learn more about them. Always and Furever in Springhill KS has two other locations you can volunteer at if you decide you want to do that. I can tell you it’s a rewarding way to spend your time even if it’s s few hours a month. You won’t be paid but the doggie kisses and tail wags are priceless!

Always & Furever is the most unique and innovative dog sanctuary that I have ever found. Each dog’s life matters and they are truly loved. The staff goes above and beyond to place dogs in foster and Furever homes by doing extensive background, home, references, and vet checks. If a dog doesn’t work out they take it back and find the perfect fit. When a dog comes in A& F care it has an immediate family of staff and volunteers who shower them with love. A&F does whatever it takes to save a dogs life or give it a chance at a quality life. That includes some dogs who aren’t adoptable either. Whether it is training, boarding, or simply love, Jen and her team are there for these dogs. I am lucky to have adopted one dog from there and now fostering a dog. A&F is a place full of love and the little red barn where many of the dogs are housed is a magical place.

I got 2 beautiful dogs from here. They have a barn/house for the dogs. They have couches and big pillows. They dont charge for dogs. They ask for a donation instead. I am happy I have beautiful dogs.💜💜

I love volunteering for this rescue. They try so hard to give dogs and cats the best lives possible while they wait for adoption. I would not hesitate to adopt from them!

I signed up to walk dogs. Beautiful area to walk the dogs. Staff was very nice and helpful. In order to volunteer and ho into the facility, you have to attend an orientation session and sign a waiver. Since I was just in the area traveling, I was able to walk dogs. I had to sign a waiver and set up times when I could walk dogs. Very easy. I've been following this rescue for almost 3 years. Finally was able to see it in person.

This is Sky. She is available for adoption. She is absolutely the best. Why you say? Well when you meet her you'll understand.

I found a stray dog that is in dire need of medical attention, I took him into a local emergency vet. This sanctuary held a fundraiser to save his life & put him into a foster home pending his adoption. Great people, bless them

I was so, so happy to have found Always & Furever. The one house I was at I could see the love, the care, & the compassion all the employees had for the dogs & for the other employees. They knew just how to handle the dogs & make me feel comfortable with my dog.

I love this place as they dedicate their time and efforts to older dogs better abandoned in dogs that need special attention. We donated a lot of items and drove out to their facility and drop them off. We definitely plan on returning to join their volunteer list to walk dogs or take them for a drive. They still have positions open for that service. At some point in time We talk about after retirement that we would spend a lot more time donating our efforts to help and assist. These guys do a great job so I highly recommend donating your time or some money if you have extra discretionary income. My God-bless this facility and the Fur babies that live within the facility.

This is by far the BEST rescue!! They have a very strenuous and thorough screening process. This is mostly run by volunteers. So just be patient if your call isn't answered immediately or your email isn't replied to immediately because they are taking excellent care of the animals!! They go above and beyond helping these animals, from meds, surgeries, rehab physically and mentally, wheel chairs, training, enrichment, etc. It doesn't matter how old or sick the animal is they will step up and do whatever is necessary and best for the animal. You will not find more caring and loving people! I have adopted 2 dogs from them and fostered 6 dogs. The adoption process can take up to 2 weeks. They check with your vet, personal references, your landlord if necessary. They want what is best for the animal, sometimes you don't get approved. They have high expectations and standards!! I truly Thank them for ALL they do!!!

This rescue is the most amazing one with goals to change how rescues treat animals worldwide. They save those that had been tossed away like garbage. The ones with more challenging issues are sent to top notch trainers who have done amazing things with the dogs. I’ve truly never seen anything like it. This rescue truly is a model for others already!

In my experience, the adoption process at Always & Furever was a very straight forward and seamless process. Tricia was extremely responsive and made sure to follow up with me along the way. The goody bag of toys/treats provided after the adoption was finalized was also a nice added touch - and very much appreciated by my new pup! I highly recommend this rescue to anyone looking to adopt, or anyone seeking to donate to a caring sanctuary in the community.

I am so impressed with this facility. It's not like any other "shelter" I've ever seen. The dogs have their own love seat sofa, much like they would in their home. It was so peaceful and happy. No barking because a pup wanted attention, they could walk right up to you and you could sit and snuggle with them! The volunteers were happy and helpful. I am so thrilled we found this sanctuary. Thank you!!

Always and Furever Sanctuary and foster mom Nicole are amazing. The adoption process was extremely thorough and explained to me every step of the way. They saved my sweet boys from a high kill shelter. I can’t thank them enough for the work they do!

This place and the people here are amazing! From the volunteers to the foster Moms and Dads to the staff and founder, they are all about making sure these discarded, neglected, scared and abused pets (many of them seniors with special needs) have a second chance for a happily ever after with the best furever home for their needs. They will always be advocates for these animals first, which means not every person or family is the right fit for every animal. I've adopted 2 from here, and I appreciated that they made sure it was a good match. These animals have been through so much already, so let's make sure they find the right furever home. Thank you everyone who works tirelessly on behalf of Always and Furever!

Always & Furever is what every shelter should aspire to be. They not only find foster and Furever homes for dogs and cats but also take in the animals fur babies who have been abandoned or given up on. Animals are not the problem it’s the people who abused them or didn’t socialize them properly who are the problem. A&F only places animals in homes where it is the right fit and in some cases they never let anyone adopt the dogs instead they provide a safe secure home for them so they can live there life out in love.

OMG! If every shelter was able to do what they do the world would be a better place. You only need to read their story to fall in love. They started out as a senior only shelter but have progressed to send me your old, sick and unwanted. They do whatever they can to save a life no matter what. My husband and I are only adopting senior dogs because of them. Kennels are only used when necessary otherwise they are free to lounge around on comfy sofas and chairs. Doggy heaven on earth!

One of the very BEST rescues in America!! They work hard to save the lives of countless animals on death row, abandoned, sick, young or old. They saved my girl Maris & met me half way between Springhill, Kansas & where I live in Nebraska so I could cherish this sweet dog for the rest of her life. A rescue that relies on donations and doesn't charge hundreds of dollars to adopt a dog in need of a home, giving dogs a home-like environment as they await adoption, is a welcome place in deed.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the dogs deemed unadoptable? What happens to the cute puppy when it grows up? Where your parents dog ends up because no one wants the burden after they are moved into a care home or passes? And what about those few pups that have run away? What happens to them? Most end up at shelters if they are “lucky” and then you know what happens? They are forgotten. They are allowed to develop anxiety and depression. They may react to a stranger. They will have diarrhea from the stress. So I ask, who steps up for those animals? It isn’t Animal Control. It isn’t the public. It is rescues. They take the full responsibility of each and every animal they bring into their care. They do not make decisions lightly. There are many (and I cannot stress this enough) many people involved when it comes to accepting that responsibility.I have seen many situations and you know what? People are not perfect. Animals are not perfect. The difference you will see at A&F is that they will take the animals that most people would have let be killed due to age, a “medical” issue or behavioral concerns. Is that everyone’s cup of tea? No, but you what, that is ok. This rescue has decided to take on a much needed niche in the rescue world. They are maybe too transparent at times but I admire that! They will tell you everything they know about any animal before they will allow any animal to be adopted out and even then it may not be approved if they feel it isn’t a fit. Each and every day several people wake up to take care of the lost, abandoned, abused, neglected, discarded and “unadoptable”. They are putting their heart and effort towards animals that need it.I am a proud foster fail of Always and Furever and I wholeheartedly believe in what they choose to do for their sanctuaries, the community and the animals. It is a place that creates feelings you can only experience. There is no way to describe it honestly. If you have never been to the Barn to see it first hand I suggest you do.For the negative comments you may see, I say do your own research.

I inquired about a dog Ellen blind. I went 50 miles for a meet and greet. I had spent 100.00 on dog things. She is being fostered in a home with 11 other dogs. Jen said the medical coordinator didn't want to release care. You all take me through all this verifiable process. Then you tell me to look for another dog. Then said dog was an adoption fail both. These people are very unprofessional.

The love and compassion shared by the team is awesome. This love applies to each staff member, volunteers and freedom drivers. We must not forget the number of foster homes for so many rescue love bugs.Thank you for all you do and may the Always & Furever family continue to grow and remain strong.

11 out of 10 will go back to walk more puppers. The furry beasts were happy and are obviously loved and treated well. Fill out the waiver and schedule your time to walk some doggos in 5 minutes total online. Best Sunday afternoon in a long time.

Terrible and unprofessional organization. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My wife found a senior dog on their website and filled out an application for that dog and began email conversations with one of their employees. We were told initially that the dog had already been adopted but as it turned out the dog was returned later that day because the people had two other dogs that didn't get along with the new senior. All week we were told the dog "Brinkley" was ours. Their trainer was going to bring Brinkley to our home on July 5th after she returned from a week long conference out of town. My wife has been so excited about this dog and we were both looking forward to the meet and greet. Tonight they informed my wife they adopted Brinkley to the grandparents of a staff member there. They recently lost their dog as did we! They decided Brinkley would be better off in a home by herself never mind she's been living in a barn with a large group of dogs and does just fine. I will do my best to let everyone in the Kansas City area know how unprofessional this group is unless you're related to them in which case you'll receive preferential treatment. There are many adoption shelters in the area and I suggest giving their dogs consideration over this place. I'm glad Brinkley has a home but it should have been ours.

I submitted an application to surrender my dog on 8/17/21 and emailed copies of vet records, etc to the intake coordinator who I had been corresponding with. I followed up on 9/2/21 with an email as I hadn't heard anything. I still have not heard from the agency and it's been over a month.
