Very friendly staff, the show alot of compassion for all animals there. Large, clean spaces to spend time with an animal for possible adoption.

This place is terrible the workers all seem to lie dont stand to the word of protecting animals instead they take kids away from loving familys and kill them when we are suppose to a no kill shelter this shelter needas to have all new staff with. Sympthy for our animals

I've had animals treated here, and the staff was informative and thorough. They were good with the furbabies and my anxious self. On another instance, they loaned us a carrier to make sure our little rescue made it home safe. The facility was clean and neat. Even the smell. Some places smell like a kennel. This doesn't. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Support this local animal shelter.

I have not had a cat for many years and a friend recently adopted one and it got me started thinking how much I missed having a kitty. I looked online and saw this precious little girl and the next thing I knew I was naming her. I went to the shelter and spent a long time with her and a couple of kittens but she didn't seem to be very affectionate so I decided to leave and come back another time. I could not get her out of my mind and I came back today and there was no way I could leave without her even though she still seemed a little aloof. We are now home and I could not ask for a sweeter, more playful, more loving and gentle little girl. It was destiny and had the people at the shelter not been so patient in allowing me extra time it probably would not have worked out so well. She has a forever home and I have a new love.

They were amazing when I dropped off and picked up my pups. My foster pups needed to be fixed and microchipped. They were super friendly and wonderful to work with. I knew my pups were in good hands. This service is so affordable that I drove in from Manhattan and it was worth it. I love that they are offering low cost spay/neuter and helping the community and surrounding areas.

Interesting fact I was presented with today. If you feed a stray for 3 days or more it becomes your dog. So everyone who gets a dog they like.. feed it and it's yours!

Absolutely wonderful. The guys were very friendly and helpful. They really cared about the animals. We adopted a retriever puppy. She was clean and happy. We couldn't be more excited and it was a great experience. I highly recommend adopting from the shelter!

Don't like the fact that you have to make an appointment to come view dogs and cats. Aside from that, most of the staff was friendly and gave my family and I a lot of good information to help us make our decision on adopting a pet.

I am giving a low rating because they are spaying puppies way to early. We adopted a 12 week old puppy in February from the shelter. She had been spayed between 10-11 weeks old.She was very difficult to potty train and she is now having issues with urinary incontinence and will be on medication the rest of her life. Not everyone would have the financial means or the patience to deal with this situation and I feel that you are setting this puppies up for failure.I encourage you to review your spay and neuter policy.

It has been a year now since I adopted my 4 year old (now 5) Doberman mix Athena from the Salina Animal Shelter. She is a dream dog! Well behaved, great companion and watch dog, cuddle buddy, best friend. She loves car rides especially. I couldnāt be happier or more grateful! I think she is very happy too!

Very disappointed. My wife and I had an appointment, and were talking over which cat she wanted to adopt. We had told the guy at front we did want to look at the dogs and he said it would be okay. When we left the cat room another gentleman approached and told us our appointment time was over. My wife had her heart set on an adoption, but he was very rude. My wife immediately said it was okay and was ready to go(code for she was unhappy) the man continued to be rude and I was clear that we were unhappy and he was losing an adoption because he was basically kicking us out. I would think it takes more than 30 minutes for people to be comfortable in their decision looking at multiple animals, and it is sad that we felt unwelcomed and like we were an inconvenience especially after driving an hour after work.

I adopted my third dog from them yesterday. They are so helpful and caring. They don't just send the dog out the door and forget you. They remembered my other two when we did a meet between the three. Told me at least three times to call with any questions or concerns. They are there to help the animal succeed in the new home. Not just shove them out the door.

No knowledge about small pets they have rabbits without hay they need hay 24/7 bought a bag of hay for them and still didnāt take the time to feed them hay, one of the ladyās is awful rude. Rest of the staff is nice but I really wish they know more about animals and how to handle them. I got a rabbit from them didnāt even know if it was a doe or a buck... a little bit of homework wouldnāt harm anything but who am I to judge ... I would Love to help the shelter but I have a full time job. I hope people donate they have a lot of pets and need a lot of money.

Monique, the manager there, was very rude to me. I donāt care to understand if she was having a bad day or not. Customer service should be neutral and respectful. I called to confirm whether my appointment was scheduled online. They didnāt send me a receipt so I had been calling for days. I also left several voicemails. When I finally got ahold of her, she was very disrespectful over the phone. Yelling at me and stressing the fact that their website wasnāt working. Even though, my bank showed that it processed their fee. While on the phone, I kindly asked if we could set up an appointment for my kitten to get spayed and she rudely said no. Saying no, that they were so busy. I completely understand when a business is busy but to overlook my willingness to schedule a date in the future? Very strange behavior, could have been discriminatory. As a new-was-potential client, I donāt recommend this place even if itās considered āaffordable serviceā.

I brought my cat here January 8th 2019 to have her spayed. I felt very comfortable leaving her with the people at the desk, they assured me they would take very good care of her. Her surgery went well and she was doing great when she got home and the following days. The incisions were very small and healed perfectly. She also didnāt appear to be in a lot of pain. It was so much better than when I got my first cat spayed and she was in misery for 3 days despite the vet saying it was normal. I am so thankful they took such good care of my baby. Thank you for offering quality care for prices that are affordable.

Called to see a dog. Can't come in after 4 pm and can't see on Thursdays. It's a Wednesday. What happened to getting these dogs adopted? Making it hard to get to see them. Need an appointment I was told.

What good is a no kill animal shelter who refuses to help animals? There is a serious problem with abandoning animals and I was told by a Salina Animal Service employee that not only can they not help but they couldnāt direct me to any help either. Sounds to me like they could care less about poor animals. Terrible experience, and extremely disappointed. These poor animals need help, and the Salina Animal Services does not care.

Really unhappy with the fact you can not just walk in at anytime to view animals. They require appt. Mon,Tues, Thurs and Friday. Animals need those people for socialization, plus organization ran by tax dollars should be available to public.

Awesome facility, really nice and helpful employees, walked out with my new best friend Hurley in about 25 minutes carrying a gift bag stuffed with tons of info and a week's worth of food. You can even go just to play and socialize with the animals, which I recommend if you're feeling down one day. Thanks guys!

This is a fantastic place. The staff work their rear ends off to make it a great place to temporarily house adoptable pets, reunite pets with their families, and basically care for everything (even if it means sleepless nights or skipped meals for the staff)! Unfortunately, several others have given negative reviews because of some political views and laws in Salina, or they are overly angry about a situation that the staff at the shelter are not in complete control of. This place does so many amazing things. They are no-kill and just look at the adoption rates. If you are upset about a certain law or situation, stop and think about if it is completely the Animal Shelters fault before you start throwing stones, then try to use your energy on a positive solution to the problem. All these negative reviews will could possibly make new people quit going to the shelter, which means less adoptions... So, ultimately all the selfish reviews will effect the poor animals in the end. Thank you to the staff at the shelter for constantly scooping poop, mending wounds, caring for animals, getting attached then watching them walk away, and absolutely EVERYTHING you do for the animals and public. Even if they all don't see it! Remember people, you don't know what you've got till it's gone, and I, personally, would really hate to loose such an amazing entity.

Used to love going here with family to see the kitties and dogs but recent news has suddenly changed my mind about my respect for this shelter. Yes, it's a no kill shelter. And I understand the city has bands on certain breed dogs but I do not agree about how they handled the situation with the American Bull dog that was on the news.
