Very decent Hotel. Reasonably priced and totally worth it!! While you are in Russell Kansas, don't stay anywhere else but here ok. The Breakfast here at this place is just the same as if you were eating at a restaurant, or high Dollar Hotel . Nice clean and comfortable rooms too.Highly recommended to all Truckers and travelers who want quality and good customer service!! Front desk gal Olivia is very nice , as well as the General Manager.Thumbs up to another hidden Gem in a small town! Let's support our Mom and Pop American Businesses!!!👍👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

This is one of the best motels I’ve ever stayed at and I travel for work and on the road …the lady who runs the hotel is so sweet and helpful room and super clean and the breakfast is amazing 10 out of 10 all the way aroundRooms: Nice and clean

I had read the reviews and had some trepidation when booking. The lobby is spotless, gleaming glass and polished wood through out.The room was decorated in a tasteful western style.The pet area is huge, if you don't have bags they do.Definitely will be spreading the word on this little jewel

If you give a mouse a cookie…I stayed her in February for my daughters gymnastics meet. Entering the rooms I noticed that things are outdated but they’re not terrible rooms. HOWEVER, in the middle of the night I kept hearing rustling sounds that I couldn’t decipher if I was just imagining things or if it was the rain outside. I attempted to sleep through it, my girls woke me at 5am to say they heard it to. I tried to get them to sleep more but around 6am I saw a MOUSE running into my grocery sack of snacks! Immediate panic from my kids. I rushed to get our things packed leaving the chewed through package of cookies the mouse got and that’s when I noticed droppings in the drawers and under the sink. I got my kids ready and we headed to breakfast. I told the front desk about my encounter (which I learned later was the manager herself) and got “I’m sorry” this didn’t sit well with me and I told a friend who took it upon herself to do something. A few moments later the “manager” comes and slams a receipt down for a $15 refund being extremely rude saying I could have said something when it happened and they would have switched me rooms. How? Your office closes at 10pm as I was told, and do you expect me to carry 3 sleeping children to a different room in a town I’m not familiar with? I will never stay here again!! Had this been handled nicer than the rude attacking attitude I received I wouldn’t of even considered leaving reviews. Needless to say don’t stay here unless you like mice and disrespect staff.

Great place to stay for a quick overnight during a long road trip. Everyone was very kind, the lobby and the room feel very homey with cold water, lemon water, ice machine, game room, vending machines available. It was extremely helpful that it was pet friendly and had dog treats at the entrance. The bed was comfy; I usually don't sleep well in a hotel (probably like most) but slept really well here. Inexpensive with a complementary breakfast with eggs, biscuits, homemade cinnamon rolls, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. We were just passing through, so I can't say we'll be back, but I would love if more of these were around.

We stayed at The Lodge at Russell in Russell, KS on our way out west last Monday. My husband and I were so impressed with our stay. First of all, our room was exceptionally clean and fresh. Upon entering our room I exclaimed to my husband, "Oh! I feel like I'm at home!" I wish I had taken a picture, but there was a beautiful white quilt on our bed (not a hotel comforter) and they left a note with 2 Hershey kisses by our bed. Our sheets were so soft and it had a "5 star shower" with incredible water pressure and a handheld shower head. But that's not all! When they say they serve a hot breakfast, they mean it. Eggs, bacon, cheese casserole, biscuits with gravy, plain scrambled eggs, hot oatmeal, make-your-own-waffles, etc...all included with your hotel room. Well done. The Lodge at Russell!!! If we were not just passing through, I would want to stay forever!!I was so comfortable and the area was quiet even though other people were around with kids. The breakfast setup was spread out and hot and fresh so you could comfortably get breakfast without stepping all over someone else.The room was clean, homely and cozy. I really loved this place!!Affordable too!!!

The rooms are definitely older and show signs of wear. However, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was surprisingly good. The hotel also has a rec room off the lobby with a pool and foosball table. Definitely a fun place to check out.PS, the place is pet friendly and has reasonably priced pet fees!Would definitely stop by again.

Rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. I didn’t interact much with the staff but the man who checked me in after midnight was nice. I will definitely be staying here again on my way back to Colorado! Very dog friendly. I prefer to support local businesses anyway, but they’re also half the price of the chain hotels/motels up at the next exit!

As someone who has worked in the hotel industry, I can say it is well worth this review. I was visiting my grandma and she wanted to pay for the rooms. However, she just had back surgery, so she couldn't be in person to pay for it. They worked with us so she could do that. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. There was one morning that We slept in and were late getting down for breakfast. They allowed us to get breakfast even though it was passed the time. At all times, they were kind, helpful, and accommodating. If I go back to the area, I will absolutely stop here again.

The room was clean but that had to be one of the worst hotel beds I've been in. Edges were rigid and you sink like 4 inches down toward the middle and feel every spring.We also booked in advance with a request for a 1st floor room for a disabled guest. We were placed upstairs insteadThe rate and breakfast bring it back to 3 stars for saving us money on our road trip.

The motel was very very nice but the TV service was way below standard there was nothing to watch except garbage kid shows and old news you need to upgrade your television stations other than that the motel was very very nice I liked it

Locally owned and operated hotel. Amazing! Yummy hot breakfast of scrambled eggs and homemade biscuits with white gravy with waffles and all the cold food you can think of! Very accommodating of any need we had! Met the owner and he was super friendly and kind! This was a comfortable and quiet place to stay after 14 hours on the road. We will always stop here if ever in town again. Also, absolutely beautiful huge plants all over property and in lobby. The people care and it’s obvious they take pride in this establishment. And THE very best pet rates for several hundred miles!

By far the best hotel I've ever stayed at! No joke. Ive stayed at high end hotels and never had such a good night's sleep. My whole family slept like babies! It was so quiet! We loved it. Very clean! Loved the rag idea! The free breakfast was great! The staff was very friendly! We missed the pool season but I'm sure it would have great. Will most definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Traveling to Colorado, needed a place to stay halfway. Thought I was going to need beds for 7, and was excited to find this property that had rooms with 3 beds. The property is older. The lobby has been kept up, but our rooms were a little run down. The beds were squeaky and not super comfy, but not horrible. The outdoor pool area was nice. Breakfast was OK. They had some freshly prepared items, like hash brown casserole, but it had been warmed too long and the eggs had developed a weird texture. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The town of Russell doesn't have a lot to offer as far as food options. Would probably find a place to stay in Hays if I knew then what I know now.

The Lodge at Russell is a gem on I-70. They are renovating, we didn't get a renovated room so I can't speak on the quality. But our room was clean...but in deep need of a paint job and maintenance. However, this little motel is wonderful. Breakfast was awesome, my whole family was happy. I slept great, this never happens for me in a motel/hotel. I just want my bed, but it was quiet, and temperature was perfect. The staff are so nice, and accommodating.If you need a room, stop here. It doesn't look like much on the outside. But was very happy with my stay. If I come back through here again. This is where I will stay.

Exactly what you need for a night on the road. Friendly staff, great prices and comfortable/clean rooms. Decoration and small details made it clear the owner was invested in hospitality and gave the lodge a charm factor that sets it apart from other roadside options.We rolled in at 9 PM after our second full day of highway driving ready to jump into a clean bed. Despite a little bit of noise outside, the Lodge at Russell delivered exactly what we were looking for and was pet friendly too! The breakfast exceeded expectations with tasty homemade options. Left for day 3 of driving refreshed and recharged.

We have been stopping in Russell, Ks on our way home from visiting family in Colorado and have been staying at The Lodge for the past 2 years. We've been very pleased with the friendliness of the staff, clean rooms ,competitive price and wonderful breakfast. We would highly recommend this hotel, and plan to continue staying there as we travel in the future.

The pool is open!!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were Clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and off the Highway. Lots of food choices nearby.The free breakfast was nice with biscuits and gravy, egg bake, and some cold items. Coffee was delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again!
