Summer sausage and beef sticks had amazing flavor. However I miss the old store, the take over is only Wagyu. The variety of products is not much. They used to have an amazing selection. And I miss the variety of snack sticks and especially the pork jerky… literally have searched and can’t find it. Used to go there everytime we visited.

First time there today after searching high and low for a butcher around JC. Pretty drive out to Riley. The shop smells DELICIOUS when you walk in. Meats are reasonably priced for the region but arguably more fresh than any grocery store. The staff were extremely polite and came right out when I came in to see if I needed anything. I'll definitely be going back to grab more and possibly buy a cow!

It is use to be a wonderful store. We shopped there often and were always very satisfied. After new owner took over everything changed. The selection is pathetic and prices are very high. Obviously the new owner doesn't care about local people. He bought excellent local meat locker and pretty much destroyed it...

There are no goo recommendations for this business. The retail is pathetic, and I wouldn’t suggest trying to place an order for anything, you will get the run around for months. Each time you call they say it will be done “this week.” I wouldn’t suggest taking an animal to be slaughtered their either.. I don’t think the people that run this business realize that people take pride in the animals that they raise. I wouldn’t suggest going there on a Saturday, they are apparently not open on Saturdays anymore, but fail to update the hours on their door and the website. Seems to me the only good reviews are from when the former owner still had the business.

I’ve been purchasing beef for the past 10 yrs & have used various processing companies. Meatworks, by far, has been the worst I’ve ever experienced. Our meat wasn’t frozen, the packaging is horrible & you can’t tell what’s in the packages. The hamburger was in a clear bag that had blood pooled in the bottom & each package was covered in blood. To top it off, I didn’t receive the correct order that I placed over the phone. To pay over $500 for processing to get all this makes me mad & frustrated. I would give it negative stars if it were an option.

If I could give them 10 stars I would in a heartbeat. As I sit here eating my steak, I can't wait to go back! Everyone was friendly and helpful with my questions. The meat is so tender and juicy! The ribeye falls apart and melts in your mouth. And great prices! Will be coming back!

If I could give this place negative starsssss I would. Such a huge disappointment. I ordered 50 pounds of Korean style short ribs way ahead of time and only got 35 pounds which I paid $230 for and all I got were a strip of bones 😡 if I were to cook these they’ll shrink and I’ll probably end up with bones only.

I've had all of my deer processed for over 12 years as have I had many friends take their deer to GTB as well. Troy and his crew do a fantastic job for sure!We are VERY happy with GTB!Like they say, "you can't beat our meat"!

Awesome place to get a wide variety of meat types and cuts, cheese, and other assorted things. Also a great place to butcher any critters to order. Super friendly staff and small town atmosphere.

Do not get your meat processed at Meat Works of Kansas. We were shorted at least 60 pounds of what we paid for! The crew here in Wamego Kansas will never process any meat here again! Thieves!

Great meat market place. Wide selection of meats, cheeses, alcoholic beverages and pet supplies. Basically your one stop shop. Some meats overpriced and you can shop around and find cheaper, we did.

Stop in today 7/12/21 to buy some porkchops the shelves were empty no pork chops. They were out of several things. No one around to wait on me. Not the same as when Troy had the place.
