Our pup came in for a meet & greet . She had a great time but the vibe as a little off. Thought we would try again, maybe the bad vibe was me. So I requested a day for the next week online, as no one would answer the phone. We were approved so I got there at 8:30a the day we requested. There were two other owners dropping before us. The employee was very put out that there was so much activity and flat out rude. When it was our turn to check in, she denied our pup due to not having a dog flu shot. One, don't accept my appt online. Now, I am late to a meeting and pissed. Two, we've been taking her to doggie care for 6+ months, a few places actually, and that has never been required. Furthermore the damn vaccine makes her sick.Three, I'm a small business owner and customer service is the only way to sustainability. This incident and the way it was handled ruined the Dog Pawz experience for us. DO BETTER

We had a great first experience! From the moment I dropped our puppy off they were so kind and accommodating. I especially love how she got to play at day care while waiting for the groomer. They communicate so well with their customers and I would highly recommend to anyone!

I dropped my dog off for 9 days as a first time boarder. He is 10yrs old and has never been boarded in his life, needless to say I was very worried. My dog has separation anxiety, especially when he is dropped off places and he is a very sensitive pup. He needs lots of patience and understanding.I called every day for the first 2-3 days to check in, they were very nice, helpful and I didn’t feel judged for my calling so much, they actually encouraged it. The girls at the front were so welcoming and just honestly a joy. So up beat. I also felt like when I dropped him off she listened to all my needs and worries and write down exactly what I wanted so they could take care of him the best way for the dog. They wanted to keep everything the same that they could.I boarded in the standard boarding package for 9 days, he was to have outdoor time for potty and daycare. He also had medicine that he needed to take. There was a bath that was complimentary but my dog is reactive to baths so I requested he not have one in which they did honor.One thing I was worried about is what happens if there is a dog fight. Dogs fight just like people fight and they can just plain out not get along with a certain dog just like us. They said they watch the first timers much more closely and if anything happens they assess if it is one dog they aren’t liking or maybe the dog isn’t fit for daycare. They try to put your dog in a daycare with different dogs and if the dog still doesn’t do well they don’t do daycare but individual time out with the dog and outdoor time instead.I was able to view my dog via the camera in all rooms but the outdoor area. They were awesome enough to put him in a kennel that was camera view as there are kennels that are not in camera view for standard boarding. (Also note that the next package up dogs are not viewable on camera, the kennels aren’t set up for front view, I looked at all the rooms.) I was able to see my dog leaving his kennel and I also caught him getting his morning meds as I requested. I was never able to catch him in the daycare area, it’s possible I wasn’t looking at the right time, next time I will call and see when he is scheduled to go in so I can watch him. I also watched the employees handling some the dogs on the camera with such care and needless to say my pup can be a bit frustrating, he likes to run through legs, especially if you’re putting him in a kennel. I watched as a caretaker was trying to put him away and he kept running out, they never got frustrated with him and forced him into the cage aggressively, they just patiently kept setting him in there until they could get the door closed without smashing him with the door lol.When I picked up my dog he was calm, not stressed, he wasn’t cowering or acting like he had a terrible time or like he was petrified from his experience. He was very content and happy. That impressed me and I was honestly surprised with how bad his separation anxiety can be. They gave me a run down of his visit, how he did from start to end and let me know he was involved in zero altercations.I would absolutely board here again, without any question. I would also highly recommend this place to everyone. They truly do care for the dogs and they want them to be comfortable. They also understand that this is scary for them so they try very hard to nurture them through the process instead of herding them like cattle and get frustrated with them when they are scared or don’t want to do something.Thank you Dog Pawz!!! :)

Previously gave a 5 star review but deleted it and posted a new one after our most recent experience. Over the past few years we've been a boarding, daycare and grooming customer. Seems like management has degraded over time. However, our dog wouldn't eat for 3 days after his most recent stay and was extremely stressed after picking him up. Normally he sits in our laps to look out the window but he curled up in a ball in the back seat this time. We also had a previous safety incident where the resolution was to have complementary boarding upgrades and I brought that up in our reservation process where the staff acknowledged it, but our billing was still for the higher price. I kept viewing the videos during the day to see if he had been moved to daycare and it didn't seem so. Maybe he had an incident with another dog, but my worry is he was just forgotten while staying here. No notes on his reservation providing context for what happened. Something I would expect for $50+/day.Side note, I get the importance of vaccinating our fur babies. But the K9 Influenza requirement came out seemingly right after they started offering vet services. Seemed like a cash grab to require a non-essential vaccine right when they started doing it in-house.

My boys have been going here since 2019 and I can not say enough nice things about them. The facility is great, the staff are amazing, and the community is very welcoming. They treat your animals like their own and it is staffed by animal lovers. My boys get so excited when I tell them we're going to daycare and start waiting by the door when the suitcases come out. They love to greet everyone when we get there and sprint for the door without looking back at drop off. If that doesn't show how much love they have for the staff and experience, I don't know what will!

We have been bringing our Pug, Mabel since she was a puppy to Dog Pawz. The Staff is so nice and always greets you with a smile ! It is a clean, and wonderful place for your pup! We love Dog Pawz and so does Mabel❤️

I absolutely recommend this place the staff was very friendly and treated my puppy with love and care. I talked to one of the groomers for a while she explained how long I should expect him to be there. She also gave me information on the day care services as well. He looks so handsome when I picked him up. I’m very satisfied

I have never been so disappointed by poor service received from this facility. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. Unorganized, No ownership or accountability for their errors and wrongdoings. Horrible grooming services. Horrible customer service. Mangled my dog, took her for an entire 24 hours for one grooming service and returned her looking absolutely atrocious.

I recently got a nine year old Boxer rescue, Franklin. I needed a vet that understands rescues and some of the behaviors that Franklin was exhibiting. On our first visit, Dr Noll took time to listen, understand and explain to me what Franklin was doing and why. She was very easy to work with and definitely had Franklin and my best interest in mind. Great staff, clean facility as well. Franklin and I have found our forever vet.

The staff acts like they LOVE dogs. They are so very personable!! I was concerned about leaving our 2 pups for 5 days but when we picked them up I could tell the staff had bonded with them and really enjoyed them; talked about how they played and had fun with them. Disappointed in the lack of communication about the canine flu vaccine requirement to be boarded at this facility. Our vet has never recommended or required this vaccine yet upon drop-off before our scheduled vacation, Dog Pawz informed us that the flu vaccine would be required and they would not board our dogs without it. Conveniently they offer the shot at their clinic for a charge. We received a text later that we would be charged $90 per dog for this shot. This appears to be a money-grab preying on dog owners who are clearly going to be short on time to go back to their regular vet for the vaccine and be charged the standard $15-$25/shot. Unacceptable and will not recommend this facility to friends or family.

It’s been a while so I want to add to this post. Crickett began attending Dog Pawz Mid- Summer 2021 and we continue to LOVE the staff and service and support. ❤️ The people here are warm and wonderful and the dogs are the bestest and all good boys and girls!!!Crickett and I absolutely LOVE Dog Pawz and their dedicated small dog area!! As we’ve continued to visit this wonderful daycare we’ve noticed how they avoid the overcrowding that was so disturbing at a previous place. It’s obvious that safety is #1. Seriously relieved to have found this place!

My dog has been going to this location for year's. He loves going to Dog Pawz Daycare. On occasion he has stayed over one night through the years. Recently, I sold my house quickly and decided to board him at the Leawood location instead of a hotel. It's going on 10 day, now. I recently had another delay which extended our departure another 14 days. All the staff and manager Erin have worked with me everyday to ensure that my dog is adapting to the changes. Making sure he is comfortable, controlling his anxiety, adjusting his food, disciplining, and his environment, if needed. It can’t express enough the appreciation I have for everyone. To know I can leave him, which has been very difficult and upsetting for both of us, knowing he being cared for with so much loved and cared for during our time apart. I would highly recommend Dog Pawz for daycare or boarding! Thank you, with love!!!

Dog Pawz has 100% relieved all our anxiety about boarding our kiddos. We had a pretty bad experience elsewhere ('A Great Place to Stay'), but after our first stay with DPz, we became much more comfortable with boarding our babies. We have webcam access, Dexter and Bellatrix are always happy when we pick them up -rather than behaving traumatized-, they actually eat some of their food, and they have a great time playing with the other kids! It's reassuring to know that if there's ever an emergency, they're in a veterinarian facility. We absolutely love and appreciate the staff; they're amazing!! Dog Pawz has definitely boosted our confidence in allowing others to take care of our babies.

The Dog Pawz staff truly care for the dogs that are at their facility. I could tell after taking my pup there after the first day! It was very clear that they make sure that all of the dogs receive the individual attention to meet their needs. They were incredibly patient with all of the questions I had and very kind throughout the entire experience. I feel comfortable and happy to take my pup back several times in the near future!

Our dog had his “trial run” doggy daycare date for his upcoming boarding visit. Drop off was easy. There are cameras that you can watch your dog having fun on all day:) good to know what he was up to! When i picked him up he was clean- they gave him a bath as they said he was a bit dirty. Feeling great about his boarding experience.

I recently adopted a 10-year-old dog and knew nothing of her history. I didn’t know if she’d ever been to daycare ever been boarded. I have to attend a family function this summer and will be forced to board her. I was very skeptical about this so I took her for a meet and greet. The people at dog Pawz were so helpful and nice. I was very impressed from the beginning as they understood my trepidation. I picked her up after 3 1/2 hours and she did great!I’m going to continue to bring her to daycare once a week until my trip but I feel much better about leaving her now!

Our 10 yr old lab Charlie spent 4 days and 3 nights here. He was a little down before drop off, but at pick up he was full of zest and clearly had enjoyed his stay. Plus he made it onto their Facebook page twice... always a good sign. And the bath we scheduled for the last day had him clean and soft. We were able to arrange an after hours pick-up (for a small fee) and were able to have him home before we went to bed. Staff was great at drop off and pickup. Definitely a good spot for boarding.

From the day I adopted my dog 2.5 years ago I have been a loyal Dog Pawz customer. Loved how they went above and beyond to take care of my dog. When they closed the Westport location and consolidated to the Prairie Village/Leawood location I was skeptical about how it would effect my dog and my skepticism was correct. Last week I requested a boarding service for the upcoming weekend. The Monday before his requested saty I received a call saying they would no longer accept my dog as they are no longer staffed over night. He does have seizures from time to time and is on medication. It definitely soured my feelings towards Dog Pawz as they have left me high and dry with only a few days to find a new place to board my dog. I have consistently recommended their services to everyone I know looking to board their pet and I can no longer recommend Dog Pawz, not because of their refusal to accept my dog due to his seizures, but due to the fact that no one is there over night to look after any of the pets there. From what I gather, the Prairie Village/Leawood location is NO BETTER THAN LEAVING YOUR PET AT HOME ALONE OVERNIGHT.

We just took our dogs there for a trial day so they can become familiar with the facility before we have to board them. They provided a dog cam link and instructions for us that were very easy to follow. Our dogs were a bit timid at first but by the end of the few hours were running about with the other dogs. I loved that I could make sure my dogs were doing well and were with similar sized dogs. When we picked the dogs up, they gave a goodie bag full of treats and other good information about Dog Pawz.

Dog Pawz Leawood is not crowded but there have always been dogs to play with. My dog doesn’t stink after being here like other experiences I’ve had. The staff is nice. The parking lot is a little awkward but it works.We have one small dog. She has mild separation anxiety and is moderately high energy so we use day care on those unusual days where we won’t have time to give her a decent walk or two and will be too tired to deal with pent up energy. She isn’t fearful when we pick her up so that tells me the staff is kind and she enjoys playing while she’s there.We have boarded her once and she did fine. We would board her again. Thank you Dog Pawz for offering good, reliable services.

Our normal dog boarding place was booked for when we will be on vacation and Dog Pawz was able to quickly get our dogs in for their assessment day and booked for their stay. Very clean and staff was super nice as well as helpful and informative. The boys even got a goodie bag upon departure!! They clearly had a good time as they were exhausted and I absolutely love that there are live cameras so you can check in on them from time to time. Definitely great experience!
