A fantastic stop if you're driving down I70 between Manhattan and Topeka. Very friendly service and great views. They have quite a few wines (100% Kansas grown grapes) but my wife and I's favorite are the sparkling wines. They also have a great selection of other "made in KS" items.

Myself & 3 friends stopped an afternoon at Prairie Fire. We didn’t have a booked tasting, but Julie and Bob & their team were so amazingly accommodating and such a joy. We tasted 4 wines and a sangria and the show stopper was the warm mulled Red! I truly appreciate the passion they have for their craft and in sustainability. I took home a growler of the red mulled along with several cheeses, summer sausage and a candle in their beautiful store. If you are considering a stop at this winery, it’s so well worth it. The views are incredible and the whole ambience is just perfect.

Stopped by here as a last minute stop and it was perfect! Though we weren’t sure if we were in the right place due to having to go down the dirt road. But at the end of it is a big winery and there shop. The $5 tasting flights are worth it! Had fun tasting some wine and looking around at other Kansas items. Though it seems like it would be a perfect place for big events we didn’t really have time to explore the actually vineyards. Though the person was really friendly and informative about all the different wines we tasted and any questions we had. There were also some really unique artist items around the shop for sale. Defiantly going to have to look into there different event they have and plan a trip back out.

Absolutely phenomenal! Bob (the owner) and Brie (the dog) were amazing hosts. Bob is personable and talked to every patron at every table. The wine tasting was amazing. We took home a bottle of our favorite wine from the tasting and a growler of Red Sangria. We sat outside, listened to live music, ate from an assortment of available local charcuterie items (the vineyard provided a knife, pair of scissors, plates, napkins, and forks if needed), and walked around the vineyard.

Omgosh! This place is phenomenal! I love how it's off the beaten track so you can really enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The wine was excellent and the sangria was simply magical! Ron did a wonderful job explaining the different flavors and styles on each bottle overall making us feel welcomed and helping us understand a little more about all wine in general! Super impressive place and hope to go back soon!

We absolutely love this place. They have a lot of seating covered and uncovered. The staff and owners and very helpful and knowledgeable. They are also very personable. I can’t say enough good things about this place. And of course, the wine is delicious! We will be back (over and over again) and we highly recommend that you come out for a visit.

On our way from NC to Denver, CO to relocate we stopped here to take a break. It was a magically pleasant experience. Before the road trip people told us to sprint through Kansas because there would be nothing there - they clearly didn't pay attention to the Flint Hills area not this winery. Ron did our tasting and we talked to the owner as well. Both were just beautifully kind people and they let us take our dog off the leash to run free in the field. That was much needed after being in the car for 3 days. STOP HERE! You will see the beauty in Kansas!

Loved this place! Friendly and knowledgeable staff who assisted in finding a great wine to enjoy. Lots of good options for both white and red; they even carry rosé and some champagne. Great local cheese and summer sausage options as well. Be sure to walk through their vineyards for the best views of the hills. The place has the look and feel of being at home.

Nice winery with a good variety of offerings. Nice atmosphere. Able to purchase cheese, meat, and sit outside among the vines. Nice soy candle selection as well.

Stopped in with some friends and had the BEST time! From the fantastic service and warm and inviting atmosphere to the sweet friendly pup we got to meet - we couldn’t have had a better afternoon and can’t wait to visit again!

Stopped by here heading back to Kansas City for our flight. Made time to do a tasting which was great. The varieties available can be enjoyed by any palate. If we had more time we wouldve sat down and eat some cheese and sausage. If you have time driving down I-70 definitely make the detour.

A wonderful find in an unlikely place! We stumbled onto Prairie Fire Winery on a trip to the Flint Hills. We were met by Julie, wife of the winemaker, and learned a lot about their background, the operation and the wines they're producing. The wines were excellent, and we walked out with several bottles. Our favorites were the Chambourcin, Frontenac and Traminette. We had a very nice visit, and we'll be back.

Stopped in for the first time and I guess you need reservations as we arrived at 1:50 and there was a group with another coming at 2, however, we were still there st 2:15 and no one had shown up. We ended up just buying a bottle not knowing the taste and I bought candles since they were nice. It was a nice venue but not likely to go back since it seems if you don’t have reservations they don’t care about youGo

We visit Prairie Fire Winery several times a year. The wines are top notch, very friendly and helpful staff with great indoor and outdoor seating. The Flint Hills views and western atmosphere is a must stop in the Paxico, KS area.

We were greeted by the owner who was very rude and made us leave because we had more than 6 people. They weren’t busy at all and he said he already turned down two groups of 15 before we got there because they didn’t make a reservation. I understand making reservations if the place is busy, but I guess this place doesn’t like making money. He checked our bags and took pictures of our license plates because we got upset when he turned us away. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at an establishment before. We went to Wyldewood just down the road and they were so friendly and accommodating. We will not go back to Prairie Fire

This is heaven on earth. Especially for friendly dogs! Enjoy the Kansas weather and sip on some dry reds.

Love this place! Husband & I took a little day trip today for his birthday & decided to check out this winery. We couldn't be more pleased! The young lady that helped us with our wine tasting (wish I could remember her name) was so knowledgeable & helpful. The wine is excellent, & the view from the deck is amazing. It's a bit of a drive, but so worth it. I definitely see us going back.

Very disappointed in my experience with this company. My family has had a tradition every year to go to Prairie Fire Winery. This year we were told to leave the property for doing nothing wrong. There was a group of 10 of us that would have spent roughly $1000 on wine and other stuff. We were told that they did not have the capacity or staff for a group this big, although there was several open tables and space for us. Just because you had a bad experience with one group does not mean you should treat every group the same way. If you want a better experience, go down the road to Wyldewood Cellars Tasting Room. We will no longer be doing any business with Bob and his company.

Came for a nice wine tasting for a friends bachelorette party, as we are all basically in our 30’s and were looking for a relaxing day together to celebrate the bride. The owner was extremely rude, telling us that they don’t accommodate more than 6. We were agreeable and split up amongst tables. The owner proceeded inside, at which point he was overheard talking about our group loudly, making rude comments in front of other guests. The servers appeared uncomfortable and continued trying to take our orders inside as he continued to speak aggressively and inappropriately about our group. Mind you, we attempted to call twice prior to the day of the event to give them a heads up and ask if they could accommodate. There was no answer and no call back. Do not give this place your money.

Will not be going back. Completely ignored a simple question I had, which is super rude. A simple, “no, I’m sorry” would suffice but to be ignored completely when trying to correspond with them is extremely rude. I’ve spent lots of money on their candles and wine, but Liquid Art is a better local winery anyway. And there are tons of candle places everywhere. Plus any good liquor store will have lots of wine selection, no need to give your business to them!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. By far the best winery in Kansas! The candles are amazing! Including their Pumpkin Spice which is the the absolute best "white girl dream come true" must have for the season! Can't wait to come back!

Prairie Fire is an exceptional winery that is somehow both out of the way and right next to the interstate. Top to bottom all wines are great. Beautiful location too.

So disappointing... We have made this place a part of every major holiday for our family since the year this place has openend. Today we had such a horrible customer experience and were treated sooo disrepectably by the owner himself. Sad to say we will no longer being taking our family outing here ever again. You should not judge all groups from the one or two rowdy groups that you have had. Hopefully they learn from this, but we will now be taking our business, and money down the road to Wyldewood Cellars. We spent all afternoon there, and hundreds of dollars buying multiple cases. Very nice and accommodating people there (Wyldewood) and good wine. Later Bob.In response to your narcissistic reaction to our review... Your reply is the only bullying that has happened. Your staff was courteous and our only response to your anger was confusion. We have NEVER had to rsvp in all the years we have been coming. We thought we were following your rules when we booked a spot for a tasting for 6 not knowing the rest of us could not go to your outside area and have some wine like we have EVERY SINGLE YEAR. For you to try and drag our family name through the mud just shows your lack of character. We will definitely share this with ALL of Paxico. No one that knows Charlie and Diane, or us for that matter would ever describe us in that way. In response to your question of what we would do if we had our own business: I have run my own business in the service industry for over 20 years and I would be more than happy to accommodate my guests. That is why I have run a successful business for so long. I have noticed a pattern that anyone who posts a negative review of you gets the same intimidating type of response from you and that again shows your lack of character. I don't believe you will ever change and we won't change each other's minds so we can each go our separate ways, but you should never attack someone personally and not be called out. No need to respond because I know your response already.

We went twice this weekend - that's how good of a time we had! Excellent wines, great cheeses. Atmosphere was great and the owner took the time to chat with us and tell us about the property and wine making process. Will definitely be back.

This is a wonderful place. We took a Saturday and spent some time with the wonderful individuals here. They make you feel part of their family. I have never been to a winery. Prairie Fire is the best. I will recommend this winery to everyone. A sweet couple paid for a glass of wine for me because they over heard a conversation. Great place. Great wine. Great cheese. Great fun. Go! Go! Go! Go!

Our wine tasting reservation was at 1230. We got there early and they moved us up to an earlier time. Each wine was thoroughly explained with tasting notes. We learned about the history and how Prairie Fire wines were started. It was a great experience. After the wine tasting, we were shown some of the trails around the vineyard. We took advantage of the coolish day and set out on one of the park benches overlooking the valley. Lots of pictures. A great visit!

We stopped in for a tasting and a drink. The owners and staff were welcoming and knowledgeable on their craft. The wine was good as was their caramel apple pie coolers. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of Kansas wine. Will definitely go back
