Love this place for all my 2 dogs Vet and Grooming needs. I have 2 puppies that just turned 2 years old. I had been trying out different vet and grooming spots thought out the city. Very impressed with staff, professionalism and overall experience. I think prices are very competitive for the “TOP SHELF” service they offer. Highly recommend! This is now Mia and Mollys go to spot!! Thank you all!

I love this practice. The front desk is always welcoming and friendly. If they don’t know the answer to a question, they’ll find out for you. Every time I’ve had an urgent request for my pups, they get right back to me. I never feel like I’m being upsold either- everything they suggest has a practical purpose. Highly recommend.

Pet Works is our go-to spot for Lemon and Fig. From vet appointments to boarding them while we are away, they are so loved every step of the way. They are known by name and greeted with big open arms when they return. I feel so incredibly safe with my babies being taken care of at this establishment.

10 stars!! Two sisters came for dental cleaning and one ended up with an extraction. Dr. Callicott called and explained everything perfectly and again when we picked them up.We felt that “our girls” were in wonderful hands. Caring employees. The groomers are awesome. The clinic is spotless. Our pups love it there. We feel very lucky to have them.

When I moved back to KC almost 10 years ago, I went to many vets to find the right fit. After about trying 6 vets, I found Petworks. They treat every customer like family and very courteous. It’s always a breath fresh of air every time you go in and treated with a smile. When urgent situations arise, they go their best to accommodate and get you in ASAP. It’s not just a business, it’s family. By far the best grooming I have ever experienced!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Richtermeyer at Petworks for Ella’s (border collie mix) check-up, and I must say, the experience was exceptional from start to finish.First and foremost, Dr. Richtermeyer's passion for animals shines through in every interaction. Dr. Kent was wonderful, he made me feel like he actually remembered me even though it has been a few years since I took Monster and Dabu in to see him. The office staff was busy but they did get me checked in and checked out fairly quickly. If anyone is looking for a vet who sees ferrets, I highly recommend Dr Kent at Petworks on Metcalf

Love the vets and techs here. So gentle with my animals. It's also not horribly expensive compared to other vets in the area-- I really appreciate this because it encourages everyone to get their pets in for a check, even if they are tight on funds. Can't recommend them enough!!

My almost five-year old shih tzu and I both love to visit Pet Works. I do because I know the staff and the vets adore my dog and will be thorough in their exams and treatment—all while they laugh at my stupid jokes. While I don’t wag my tail to show my enthusiasm for vet visits, my puppy does, even though he knows that he might be poked and prodded. I have owned dogs for most of my eighty years, but have never felt more confident that my puppy is receiving the best possible care because he is cared for at Pet Works.

I was so pleased with the care you gave Evita. Dr Callicot was amazing when he did the exam. He did not hurry and was very thoughtful when he told me what he had found. He explained what could be done and what couldn’t. The whole stuff was so friendly that make getting possible bad news a lot easier.

My support and empathy is with some of the reviews I see of folks who feel they have had less than five star experience.However, I can genuinely say from my experience for almost 4 years coming here that the staff has accommodated to me in financial situations, the health of my dog, and easing stress and doubt by having a supportive staff, watch over my dog either through doggy daycare or boarding at times.Pet Works and its staff has become part of my dogs, life, social circle and identity. The pet friends he has here and the stuff that he has grown up with. Has been a structure and safety for my dog.I am moved out of state, and one of the reasons I chose to return was because of the team that can be found here at Pet Works. Thank you petworks and staff for all the hours and love you put in to care for us and our pets.

I have been struggling for the right words for the review I would leave because when I leave a review it makes everything just so final. Our dog Mia became ill and we brought her to petworks. Very long story short we had to make the extremely sad decision that no one wants to about your dog. Who is not just a dog to us but a 12-year-old member of your family. Your kid basically. Everyone at petworks was very kind. Everyone from the front desk to the vet techs, to the Drs. Dr Richtermeyer and Dr Callicott is who we worked with and they were so kind and so sincere. They never rushed us with our time and treated us with so much grace and respect as they know how much me, my husband and kids were hurting. This is never easy, but working with a practice with kind individuals that make you feel like this make it a little bit easier to deal and cope and for that I will always appreciate themThank you everyone at petworks for giving our Mia the care and love she needed before she left us.

I found a lost dog on Metcalf. I was able to safely get the dog into my car and walked right into Petworks since it was open early and close to where I was at. They kindly provided me a leash for the dog, let me walk right in, and were very helpful. The staff was calm, helpful, and took the dog off my hands while they contacted the owner.I had a wonderful experience, I am thinking about taking my dog here because of it!

I'm giving them 2 stars and the reason is Dr. Richtermyer, in my opinion is really not a very qualified vet! My kitten had some upper respiratory issues which did include the eyes, all she focused on was the EYES not the whole picture. There was more issues that she did not focus on . Unfortunately , when I made the appointment I was assigned to her. Her colleagues, I believe have much more experience and knowledge than Dr. Richtermyer. Of course her colleagues want to listen to her medical opinion and don't want to voice their own. I-will NEVER go there again. My kitten has now passed away and if they would have paid more attention to other medical issues, he may have been saved!

Dr. Callicott and his staff treat your pet as their own. I have been coming here for over 20 years. The staff greet both you and your pet by name as you enter. Any questions are welcome, and if needed, an appointment is made promptly with Dr. Callicott or another vet. Also, the grooming is excellent! Kindness and knowledge coincide to provide excellent care at Petworks!

Coda the Cat was declawed using laser technology. She was released to me just as happy and rambunctious as she was before the procedure. There were no bandages and she is completely unaware that she is missing her front claws. I can’t even compare this new technology to the old-fashioned method of surgical removal. She was able to use her litter box with the clay litter immediately even though she was sent home with paper litter. I know some people are vehemently opposed to declawing but with the damage she did to the carpet, living room furniture and a mattress, it was either undergoing this procedure or she’d have to be re-homed. Both she and I are much happier

I always trust PetWorks in Overland Park, with my brown marble bengal cat when I have to go out of town. They take great care of her and make sure she is up to date on all immunizations and keep a close eye her until I can bring her back home.

Dr. Richtermeyer, Eliza and Morgan were fantastic! They made sure my dog, Milo, was comfortable every step of the way and took excellent care of him. Dr. Richtermeyer was very thorough and sweet, you can tell she really loves animals and she takes the time to explain things to owners as well - she gave me suggestions on how to help Milo’s dry skin/dander.
