It's an Olpe dive and an area institution. The fried chicken is really pretty good. The fried pork chops not so bad. Gizzards are an unloved giant mash of chewy meat. Look, I like gizzards. These weren't good. The table I say at had peeling laminate. I understand they're crowd sourcing sponsorship to buy new tables, but, yuck. Tried two desserts that tasted like despair. (Actually more like the display case). I'll probably get roasted, because this is a local institution- I guess there's just nothing else to do in Olpe.

Fantastic food and service! Got the 2-piece chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. Was enough for 2 meals and our server, Katie, was outstanding! Will always look forward to coming back when we’re in town.

Went for lunch. I rather unfairly compare all chicken places to Stroud’s on 85th and Troost in KCMO and that’s why four stars here. But still, the fried chicken here looked amazing. It’s color could be the standard for what all other fried chicken could be compared to. It tasted good. It was fried chicken. They didn’t have mashed potatoes and gravy but I probably would still have chosen the baked potato. Worst part of the experience was an annoying fly buzzing around but it went away after no too long. I wish I’d tried the pie but I rarely do dessert. Good place for lunch. Would go again.

Wonderful. The staff was lovely and hard working. The coffee tasted great. The menu was nice and easy to understand. The chicken was the best friend chicken I've ever had. I got a thigh and a breast and it was the crispiest chicken I've ever had. I've lived all over the south and have had some fried chicken but that was the best I've ever had. Protip: get a side of gravy with the dinner meal. They also serve hash browns as a side. They have home made pie as well. I enjoyed ever bit.

First timer chicken 🐓🏠10/10Me and my hubby came for dinner 🍽️ and I got the chicken strip dinner super juicy and delicious 🤤 those strips where big well worth it. My hubby got the ribeye steak 🥩 dinner and man oh man they are not stingy at all, mashed potatoes where bomb!! Place was clean restrooms where very clean and the waitress Naya was super friendly great customer service very attentive 👏🏼 great job. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this family oriented restaurant. 👍🏼

The service was excellent and the place is clean!! We ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. The meat was so moist it fell apart and tasted amazing as was test of meal except the dinner rolls weren't that great. Tasted yeasty. We were served drinks and salad right away. I ordered a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie that was awesome. Highly recommend this place!!

Been coming to the chicken house for over 35 years. Still the best onion rings around I have ever had. Food always excellent. Waitress was great(Caroline Cole). Still my favorite place to eat.

Had a wonderful lunch in Olpe today. They were extremely busy and based on the signs advertising the need for waitresses probably shorthanded. But everyone was pleasant and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.Great fried chicken, definitely worth the trip.

Love this place so much! Very family oriented, COVID safe, and to top it all off the best fried chicken you’ll ever have. I would highly recommend the onion rings, talk about melt in your mouth! Service is also amazing, very full of hardworking and kind people.

This was my first time at the Chicken House. It was just as good as everyone has said. Not only was the food wonderful, the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely recommend The Chicken House to anyone.Parking: Plenty of parking for a full house.

Good chicken! Salads aren't bad, considering they specialize in chicken. This place looks unimpressive on the outside and is unpretentious inside, but that's because the food is so good they don't need to "look" fancy. Great for families and large groups, good place for kids. Pretty typical menu for a small town diner. Catering services are top notch; generous quantities and early delivery, plus thorough clean up.

I wanted to love this place even more, but I felt my experience left much to be desired. I ordered the 2-piece dark meat dinner (leg and thigh) and got 2 drumsticks instead. I was further disappointed they didn't serve mashed potatoes and gravy except on Friday and Saturday nights. It's my favorite side with Fried Chicken. I was also disappointed that Lemon slices in Iced Tea was not available and was offered Lemon Juice instead. No Lemonade available either. Like I said, I wanted to like the Chicken even more than I did, but felt the Chicken was overrated. The service wasn't that great either. Probably won't be back.

My all time favorite place to eat. I've been going here most of my life. I would recommend everyone try the chicken first of course and then the steak. I also love the cheeseburgers and the pie. They have the best homemade food in all of Kansas. Love the service and love catering by them. So nice I'm home visiting so I can eat here tonight. Love love love it here.

Always a great place to meet with family and friends! The food is great home cooking!My son said tonight as we were enjoying our time at The Chicken House, "wouldn' grandma love this"! It was her favorite place to eat!
