If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. I bought three saltwater fish through this location, all three of which died within a day or two of having. All the levels in my tank are exactly where they should be, along with salinity levels. I called the store to see what could have been the difference, just trying to find the cause of death. All I get in response is "well our levels aren't exactly the greatest but none of our fish are dying." And in the background all I hear is the manager being absolutely rude stating "we don't do refunds for saltwater fish," and just repeating that. I never once asked for a refund, I was simply trying to find a cause of death considering I spent $100 for three fish and all died. I am absolutely heartbroken that this location does not give a care in the world about their fish or their customers. My coral beauty angelfish had some kind of infection on his lower end on both sides, and suffered for hours trying to breathe. As for the two cardinal banggai, I still have no idea what caused them to die. They were both swimming and eating just fine then I woke up the next morning and both were laying on the bottom of the tank. Considering all my other fish in the tank are just fine and show no problems, I know it was something to do with the petco I bought from. (also side note I bought all my other fish from the petco in Lawrence, where they take much better care of their fish). I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING SALTWATER FISH FROM PETCO IN OLATHE!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the employees and we just bought our second gecko from here. Fair prices on animals and fast, friendly service. Our reptiles are extremely healthy as well that we purchased from there and there is a 30day guarantee if anything was to go wrong with them.I will be a life long customer

Staff extremely helpful and knowledgable. For these two reasons alone, I will go to Petco for all my babies needs. All staff members at the Olathe store rate high on Customer Service! Kudos especially to Justine who was kind enough to explain how to introduce a new cat food as well as the differences in quality and nutrition value for my newly adopted kitties. Thank you!

Went in to get fish. Not only was there a beautiful variety, but Shannon was the best part of the trip. She was very knowledgeable about all the fish, helped us find what we needed for our tank to be successful and took time to teach us how to care for our new pets. We will be back!

I was in on Sunday after my dog had thousands (and I mean thousands) of seed ticks hatch on her and alll over my home to pick up whatever I could to help. I had called several emergency vets and no one would offer any help or advice. I walked into the grooming salon and asked if they did any kind of treatments. The gal kindly told me no and asked what was going on. After having a full break down her and her coworker offered me many suggestions and kind words on what to do. Sooo thankful for the gals that day. Their advice really helped get the ticks under control fast as well as make me feel better after having such a terrible morning. To the girl with the orange hair and her coworker, thanks so much for going above and beyond and helping a dog mom on her worst day!

These are two separate Yellow tangs at Petco today.. Really people, you should google what they are supposed to look like because it is NOTHING like that. Both of these fish (and one more I saw) are on the verge of death. MAYBE with a lot of work I'll be able to keep one alive and have it looking healthy enough to GIVE away considering its fins are almost completely gone. The idiot who checked me out claimed they will "look normal eventually".. I highly doubt if they get called out in that lie because this fish is almost certainly not going to make it a week. I'm just hoping he doesn't crash the rest of my tank.And yes, people, I know it is just a fish and fish die. But consider that this is a wild caught creature and is being killed by incompetence. Would you be ok walking through a store and seeing a dog in this bad of shape? Petco should not be creating a demand for fish to be imported just for them to be killed because there is no one taking care of them at the store.

I appreciate that time and attention the staff here gives the animals. They really do seem educated and knowledgeable and more importantly they're happy to help and give advice. I had a handful of questions and the manager who was helping me was very patient and I'm thankful people like this are still out there.

The prices were competitive, and they had everything I was shopping for. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they only had one kind of ferret litter and only in one size. I must say, though, it was the litter I was looking for and at a good price- just had to buy 2 bags.

I love Petco! The employees really make the experience great! They are always friendly at the checkout. I can always find what I need - and a surprise or too for my fur babies. I love that there are adoption events still for the little ones looking for a fur-ever home.

Today was the second time I was overcharged for our grooming appointment. We get a simple bath. No cut, no special shampoo, no special instruction. Our lab is not a problem to do as he’s been bathed since a puppy. Both times I was overcharged 15-20 dollars.

This review is not a reflection of the store itself, but rather, the grooming department. Today I had an unfortunate interaction with one of the groomers. My dog, who has been there multiple times, is incredibly excitable, but has never had an issue during any of the times he was treated there in the past. Today, apparently they were unable to provide services for him due to his wiggling; fine, not a big deal. However, what was a big deal was how rudely and unprofessional the groomer went about informing me that they would not service my pet. She didn't apologize, explain the issue, or anything; instead, she demanded the ticket back and proceeded to crumple it up, basically in my face. She then rudely told me he needed to be sedated and then walked away. We proceeded to take our dog to another store where they trimmed his nails without issue.There were a plethora of ways she could have handled the situation, but instead, was rude and downright awful. Customer service is apparently not a skill she cares to possess. Because of the situation, I probably will not be back to the store itself, as I really do not want to see her hateful face ever again.

This store is pretty decent. Staff is helpful. One person even carried an extra large dog crate to the front for me. They have a good selection of products here.The aisles are pretty close though with a lot of stuff on the floor. (It's like they need a bigger store so they can spread out. ) So keep that in mind if you need to use a wheelchair, walker, cart and walk your dog.I haven't tried the classes or grooming yet, but I will.

Friendly and helpful staff. Ms. Erin the dog trainer is AMAZING! My 1YO pup is learning so fast and I’m feeling confident with commands. The groomers (Michelle & Vaahti)are great with our pups.

I was amazed that this was the only pet store that carried a cat carrier the size I needed and put together also. I was so happy and tired as had been to so many stores before finding this one. Thank you to the person who checked me out for having such a wonderfully, friendly attitude.

Both Michelle & Ti do a great job taking care my dog, Jesse, when they dremel her nails MONTHLY. Not only is their work top notch but they handle Jesse in a very loving, caring manner and both are very friendly to me. They will continue to have my business!
