One of the best local pet stores in the metro area. They always stay stocked with fish and the staff are very helpful and always friendly. If you’re looking they always come right up to ask if you have questions or need help. Never gotten a bad fish from here.

This is a well stocked pet store. It has a large selection of exotic animals such as turtles and snakes and lizards. It also has a nice selection of fish to choose from and they almost always look healthy when we were here.They also have a good selection of live aquatic plants for your fish tank. These can be hard to find some times.Of course they also have difficult pet store stuff for cats and dogs. Including large selections of food for both.

I've gotten 3 frogs from here.2 of the 3 have been sick. We nursed one and kept it alive. It still has some issues that requires more extensive care.A year later we bought another (about 2 weeks ago). The last one wasn't doing well when we got it home, it died within 3 days despite our best efforts to revive it.The terrarium we put it in was established prior to bringing it home, we changed the bedding and adjusted the temp and humidity to the level that this species of frog required.I try to buy local however I've not had success here.I will buy my frogs from a place that carries a 30 day guarantee.

Pretty cool place, definitely better than one of the big chain pet stores. The staff was very helpful and provided great customer service. They answered all of my questions and made sure I had what I needed for my aquarium. Highly recommend!!!

The girl catching fish didn't know what she was doing! The fish got so squeezed being caught, that I'm surprised it left the store alive!! The owner is kind of a jerk! We asked if he bought baby fish back, I exchange for food or other fish. Some rude remark! I'll never shop there again!! If I could give you a zero rating , I would've!!!

Always so friendly and fast service. very knowledgeable employees. I always drive from paola ks to this particular pet shop. My snake only eats live mice and they have live mice. Very nice and clean as well. Highly recommend stopping even if it's just to look at the cute bunny rabbits.

LOVE how friendly and helpful the staff is. My daughter bought her first ball python there. Ethan ( or Ian?, sorry, but he has red hair) was extremely patient and knowledgeable, and took time to answer our many questions. Its the only store we visit for her reptile supplies. Store is always clean and animal habitats are as well. Highly recommend this place.

Love this place. Staff is friendly, plants and fish are healthy. I highly recommend the Aquatop 5g bullet fish tank. It comfortably holds a betta, three fish, and a mystery snail. Also, Plants Plants Plants!!

Great local pet store that takes good care of their animals and knows their stuff! We’ve bought almost all of our aquarium stock from them, as well as one of the sweetest hamsters we’ve ever had, and haven’t had any issues whatsoever! Appreciate that they ask to make sure the aquarium is already established before you buy fish, shows they care about their animals and want you to succeed!

Absolutely horrible customer service from the owner. Most of the staff is kind and helpful but because the owner is rude and "doesn't have time to deal with this", I took my business elsewhere. They don't medically care for their fish and just throw them in whatever tank so they can make a quick buck.And... Your response is the precise attitude as to why I will never shop at your store again. It's pathetic calling your customers theatrical when the only person that was responsible for taking care of a problem in your fish tank was you and you refuse to take care of an animal. My concern was not the deformed Oscar and if you had listened to me then you would have understood what my concern was but your arrogance spoke for itself.

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I used to always go here for my bunnies food. So I assumed I could go here so my 7 year old son could buy himself a bird WITH a 'setup' as advertised on the bird's glass. But there were no bird setups and all the children working there told me "it's not their fault there isn't any setups for birds". Instead of trying to just make a 'setup' for my son they just told us to "just go buy everything the bird will need". When I asked for a manager or the owner they told me he wasn't there and he would tell me the same thing. The children that work there need to learn how to respect and at least get some training on how to put together 'kits' or 'setups' instead of telling customers it's 'not their fault'. So we went to Petsmart and got much better service and paid WAY less than we would of at Olathe pet shop. The picture I added is for the children that work there so they know what a 'setup' looks like and now much it should be instead of telling a customer to pick out everything and pay for it all!

This is the absolute best aquarium shop in the area. They have all the regular fish but also have a variety of different and unusual varieties. The staff are amazing and clearly knowledgeable and love what they're doing!!! Definitely go there!

Update: We now visit here weekly to get feeder mice for our ball python. They are the only place locally that I have found where they carry them live. So, if you're in need of live feeders, they have them! It is a great location and the staff are kind and knowledgeable.Great customer service!!!!Minimal selection at our time of visit, if they had a few more bunnies to choose from we probably would've purchased here.They were very helpful and friendly.

We came looking for a male betta, and we found this little guy and saw that he had a pop eye, i told one of the guys that work there and he said oh yeah thats not normal poor little guy and then walk away, this little bettas are supposed to be a little more expensive because is on the glass cup and he wasn't the only one that look sick.How can you guys sell sick bettas, that poor little guy is going to die anyway but why make him suffer.?

Purchased a hampster that is very aggressive (not normal, had several) bit my son twice, wife and me. Store was very rude, will not assist with a return or exchange. Son purchased with his own money, crying and upset because he doesn't want him anymore. Would not recommend any purchase from this store, they take no responsibility, provide no post sale assistance or have any compassion.....all about making a sale.

I thought great tropical fish selections were a thing of the aquarium hobby glory days, but Olathe Pet Shop gave me hope. I also thought that Miles of Exotics is currently the best tropical fish shop in the metro, and Olathe Pet Shop proved to me that that I was wrong. I've been in the aquarium hobby since 1978, and OPS had some fish I'd never seen before. The employee who helped us was well educated on their stock, and her passion for the hobby was evident. You can't find this kind of knowledge at the big pet store chains. I sure hope whoever owns this pet store will open a second store more centrally located in the metro.
