Following up - I have since returned to Erv's for service work, and have had great service. They have been able to perform repairs in a very timely manner. I am keeping the original review on for information, but I am upping the rating to 5 stars, as I have experienced great customer service since my initial review.__________________________________________________________I purchased a vacuum from Erv’s in 2022. Everyone was extremely friendly during the purchase process. There were better deals for the same unit available online, but I wanted to support local business, so I figured the extra money was worth it.I ended up needing service 18 months later due to an error of my own. The staff completed the repair in a (mostly) timely manner, but in every conversation I had with the repair team, they belittled my attempts at maintaining my unit (to both myself and my wife).I hate to whine, and Erv’s can run their repair business however they see fit. Based on my experience with the repair team, I wish I would have purchased my machine online originally. I have lost the desire to spend extra to support the local business.The 3 star review is because the unit appears to be repaired correctly. The deduction in stars is purely due to the personal treatment I received.

When I thought my backpack vacuum was broken, Logan promptly provided me with a loaner vacuum. That’s great service!Erv’s team checked my vacuum and discovered that it was my extension cord causing the issue. Their attention to detail saved me unnecessary repair costs.Not only did they diagnose the problem accurately, but they also didn’t charge me for their expertise. That’s commendable!Thank you, Erv's Vacuum and Logan for great customer service.

My experience here was pleasant. The folks at the store were very laid back and there were no high pressure sales tactics going on that I could tell. They helped us find a vacuum in our price range to fit our specific needs. All my questions were answered and I felt like we were getting the kind of service my grandparents used to talk about!

I stopped by Erv’s today to drop off my commercial vacuum for my store, kc grow co. Nick diagnosed to problem immediately and showed me what led to his assessment. My vacuum will be done in less than 2 weeks. I was most delighted by the lovely little shop dog who greeted me. I learned about the Maison Berger home fragrance system and bought a starter kit. This is a very cool little shop with lots to look at and OUTSTANDING customer service, which I appreciate very much. Job well done Erv’s! I’ll be back!

These people are wonderful!! I took my Hoover wind tunnel in because it kept getting hot and made this horrible sound. I had only owned this vacuum for less than a year and I didn’t have a dog that shed or a lot of foot traffic in my apartment. Both the sound and excessive heat start in late 2017 but I let it go because I didn’t know about Erv’s and boy am I glad I found this gem!I took this in and left it with Patrick last Friday. I was told turn around was probably 3 days but they called Monday. They gave me what I felt was a fair quote but Darren said that he would fix it but it wasn’t a long term fix. I told him I was on a tight budget but he found me one that was reasonable and perfect for pet hair from a shedding dog I recently adopted.These people are great! Their prices are very competitive (I purchased a new vacuum with a 2 year warranty-Royal UR30075 for $150 with online options selling for $200) and Patrick let me try it out. He even stayed a little late to answer my questions. My only negative is it’s hard to get in to but use Maps and you’ll be good. These people are effective communicators, friendly and honest. I never felt taken advantage of or pressured towards anything which is great when random things come up as far as unplanned costs (a vacuum should last more than 10 months right?!) Great people, products and prices! Highly recommend to everyone!

Darren, the repair guy who took fixed my vacuum was amazing. Great customer service and my car wouldn’t start as I was leaving and I needed a jump start. He didn’t hesitate to pull his truck around and start my car. He went above and beyond any customer service! This place cares about their customers.

Stopped by recently to pick up bags for my Miele C3 and struck up a conversation with Logan, who was very helpful and gave me some cleaning tips and a brush to help keep my vacuum operating. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a cannister vacuum or have mine serviced here. This is the kind of local and professional touch that's hard to come by at a big box store or online.

We purchased a vacuum from Erv a few years ago and the staff, especially the owner, Sarah, is very knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. They provide consistently great customer service which is becoming exceedingly rare to find these days. I will be a customer of theirs for as long as I need a vacuum!

I will only be going to Midwest Vacuums for ANY vacuum repairs needed. I fully intend to buy a new vacuum from them in the future. I had a "Dyson Animal 2" problem with my vacuum and Sarah from Midwest knew EXACTLY how to fix my issue and helped ensure I had the best deal I could get for the parts needed. I was extremely impressed with the customer service and help from Midwest Vacuums at both Olathe and Lee's Summit locations. Just bummed I did not know about this place years ago!

Sarah was so helpful and kind! Instead of trying to keep my vacuum and have it dropped off for days, or upsell me on something right away, she took a peek and took my vacuum apart and diagnosed that my issue was my belt. I don’t have the most expensive vacuum, but it wasn’t even a year old, she popped off the pieces and replaced my belt right there. She even gave me some additional info on what to look for for my next vacuum, which I really will be looking into! I previously tried to get a hold of, the American vacuum company stores, because they do warranty work for Bissell. Which I have. I was worried about how much it was gonna cost me so I wanted to go to them directly, but they were absolutely so rude, the multiple times I’ve spoken to them on the phone. I tried calling a different location. Maybe thinking I would get someone who is nicer, but that wasn’t the case. Then when I showed up to their store, which was closed on a day they were supposed to be open, I knew I had to go elsewhere. Thank you so much for your quick help, and for not being a typical store that’s just trying to make money, but rather help the customer. It’s places like this, I’d rather invest in!

Thank you Darren, Sarah, and Trail for your help today! I emailed about a Miele C1, but left with a SEBO D4 and could not be happier with the machine. More importantly it is good to see people passionate about their trade, and going out of their way to provide friendly service. You cannot go wrong buying from Midwest or Erv's, it was worth the drive when I changed my mind to get the SEBO!

Quick Review: Made a call, service tech came out, solved the problem, VERY HAPPY!ADHD review: I've been fighting the stupid central vacuum system for several months now, and I was having problems with low suction through every unit in the house. I had promised my wife that I was going to fix it and at the end of the day it's just plumbing, right? So I went about the process of trying to figure out where the clog was, because there was strong suction at the base unit and poor suction at everyreceptacle, so in my mind, it had to be a clog. So I removed the PVC from the system and I ran snakes from every line back in as far as I could go and never found anything then I ran it from the central unit back out and couldn't find anything. Then I cut the pipe at T so I could go in both directions and couldn't find anything and then I connected my shop vac to every receptacle and also at the HVAC unit and couldn't find anything, and then I connected my leaf blower to the HVAC receptacle and blew everything out and still couldn't find anything, at which point I gave up and called for help. As it turned out, Jim figured out in three seconds that it was not a clog that there was a leak in my system, and then proceeded to find two different spots, one next to the central unit, and one inside of the wall where the system was not maintaining section, and then, with humor and grace he fixed everything and also replaced one of my receptacles that was broken and frankly, I would've paid him three times, what he charged me. It was a great experience. I will happily call Jim back out next time instead of fighting and struggling for months. Thank you!

I was impressed by Logan, who helped me navigate the brands and models of vacuums that had the features that would help me clean my house. There was no pressure involved as he demonstrated the advantages and disadvantages of features and the costs of attachments. He took a loads of time to answer my questions. It was a big help to be able to run the machines in the shop to get a feel. An excellent experience.

We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Erv's. We put a central vacuum system in our new house recently and are very satisfied with the materials and equipment we purchased from them. Sarah and Jimmy were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and really helped us make this a successful installation. They made the experience fun and satisfying. We also witnessed many satisfied customers visit while we spent time at their facility. If you want the right answers, quality equipment and dedicated support, your money would be well spent at Erv's.

This was my very first visit to Ervs. I have 2 Simplicity vacuums that needed to be serviced. The women working at this place are very friendly, efficient and welcoming. Brittany knew exactly what to do to help us. She checked the vacuums out, gave me all the info on pricing etc. I felt very comfortable at that point leaving my beloved vacs in their care. I love to vacuum and its hard not having them. One of my units actually has sentimental value! Sounds crazy I know. Anyway its wonderful to find a place with professionalism and efficient women like Brittany. Hope to do business with them for years to come!

I took my 1998 Miele to Erv's. They diagnosed it within 15 minutes as a hose malfunction. However, dummy me, wanted a second opinion. I really wanted someone to fix it. I took it to Midwest vacuums in Lee's Summit, a week later and $24.99 plus gas was told the exact thing Erv's told me. Erv is honest and once I decide to buy a new vacuum, I most likely will go back to Erv.

Great Experience, exceptional service. I went into Erv’s needing a belt for my vacuum. That was the easy part. While there, I asked about an issue with the bag compartment. Oreck no longer makes parts for my vacuum but Logan was able to search through their bin of recycled parts and found what I needed. He showed me how to snap it in place and I was good to go! Thank you, Logan! I will be back!

This place is a great! Took a carpet shampooer in there years ago for service and it wasn't fixable, they sold me another unit that I'm still using years later with no problems. When I needed a new vacuum for my work facility, they were my first and only stop a few years ago. Took it there for repairs last week, and they fixed it right up. The crew there is friendly, personable and great to work with. Thank you!
