Cockroaches & dead fish (not to mention a yellow tang on the sidewalk out front). Walk thru the door, and the smell alone is enough to make you want to turn around, and if that doesn't, the manger will. He throws random prices on everything, and more than likely, it's "not for sale, and even if it was, I couldn't catch it." I don't care for his demeanor. It seems like he doesn't want anybody to buy anything and just have people look at it. People wonder why online stores are taking over the market.

Will never buy here again. I have ordered a lot of coral online, and this was by far the worst customer service experience I have had. Long story short I had an order show up with 66 degree water. One of the corals was definitely dead. It happens, I contacted them via FB messenger because that’s what they prefer. I asked for a phone number which he just ignored me. They apologized and said send a picture. He told me they would replace it but I have to pay freight. I figured no big deal I will add a few corals again because I have to pay freight. Did another auction bought more coral. When I got the invoice they had added an item I didn’t even bid on that night. When I asked about it he went into this big speech how he loses money on shipping so there’s a minimum. Not sure how that justifies randomly charging me for a coral I didn’t want. Anyway I’m still out the dead coral I gave up trying to work with them. Good luck don’t buy anything expensive.

Pat, Dave and the rest of the crew work very hard to provide amazing service. They sell top shelf corals and fish. They care about their customer base which is amazing you don't get help like that from other places. They have weekly auctions which bring together some pretty cool people that are in the hobby. I have watch hundreds of auctions and won a few things along the way. I'll post a few pictures of some of the corals I have received from them. Just have to figure where I want to but them all.

Great selections and great people to deal with. The auction can get you some corals at a great price.I definitely recommend them to stock your tank or even to buy dry goods.

No frills aquarium store. Definitely a lot of saltwater, which is cool but not my thing, lol. Bettas were kept in tanks, which is very nice. Got a lot of plants for insanely cheap, def worth a look for fish hobbyists

I recently sat through a live auction that Aquariums Wholesale hosted. It was long, but it was fun to interact with the hosts and the other clients. I came across some amazing deals and shipping/packaging was top notch. I would recommend to anyone to check them out!

My wife and I drove up 3hrs to visit here and I was not disappointed! Patrick was great and I highly recommend coming here. He gave me a really good deal on my corals/anenome and some great insight on the hobby. Brick and mortar stores like his keep the hobby alive! 10/10 would come back, thanks again!

Used to actually like this place before I got a fish I didn't know would try to jump out. I wasn't given that information and told if anything happened within a week they could help. Bought a reed fish Sunday, he jumped out Wednesday while I was at work.Instead, Patrick was extremely rude and said 'Well that sucks, put a screen over your tank and don't get fish that will try to jump out. I don't know what you want me to do about it.'

Mostly is a place for your aquarium that get their things from auction that they had a selection of saltwater and freshwater fish's had their saltwater fish displayed like in the older aquariums and things that are crammed up and make it difficult to get around.

Store doesn't honor posted prices on tanks. Will say oh that was from last shipment. Gave me a total price for theee different items not breaking it down. Not the first time pricing was posted wrong and they wouldn't honor their posted price. More interested in online coral auctions than people in their shop.

Went here after hearing about it and experienced very good help and was educated by employees who had alot of knowledge about saltwater fish and they even rehomed a fish I was having trouble with. I will be buying from here again

Paul is super great!! Went in with the whole family to check em out and wow!! They have all kinds of aquariums... that place is neat. A must to go if you're interested in entering or reentering the hobby. No pressure sales which is a big thing for me. Makes me want to go back and buy confidently. My only concern is that I can't give this place anymore stars

Fun place to bid on Coral. The Coral I received has been great with minimal pests. Did have a small issue with some hermits and snails not making thorough delivery but was promptly dealt with. Would recommend.Matt

This place has a good selection of fresh and saltwater fish, as well a variety of new and used tanks and equipment. I had been searching for a chiller to keep my tank cool and locally had come up empty before coming here. The staff (Paul and Drake) were very friendly and helpful and I was able to find a chiller that would normally cost over $700 new and rated for 180 gallons in the store for under $300. I purchased it and was told it was guaranteed for 30 days. I got it home and found it was not working properly. After some maintenance and contacting the manufacturer, it improved, but still not nearly performing as it should in my smaller 30 gallon tank. I have tried for a week to return it and was told that only the owner could issue refunds and I was given his cell number to text. After 4 days of finding it difficult to get a response, I returned to the store again. The staff called the owner who then offered me store credit only and stated he normally didn't accept returns. I explained I didn't need store credit and he stood firm as that was his only offer.If you want new equipment or fish, this place is fine. However, I wouldn't risk it with higher cost used equipment.

The staff was friendly an kind, but seemed overly busy with only a handful of people in the store. Management should hire 1-2 more people and then it would have been perfect.edit: I've now been in this store about 7-8 times. Ready to spend money each and every time. I have yet to spend a dime in-store (more on this later) because the staff simply doesn't have any sort of organization... They just help people willy nilly, rather than first come first serve. This has resulted in me spending more than an hour in store without being serviced, despite saying hello to the staff to let them know I am there.The only money I have spent so far as in their live facebook coral auctions. Those transactions have always been smooth and worry free. Their in-store retail and customer service needs some major work.

This store does have an amazing assortment of fish. I made my selections and ended up spending $330 on fish. I told the person that I live 3 hours away and asked that they give the fish plenty of air. The worker put them in these cups with lids. The one fish that cost $165 was dead before I got home and the two others died the next day. The following day I bought some fish online and they were in the bags for over 24 hours and they arrived alive and well. I emailed the store and told them what happened to my fish and asked what they might be able to do. I did not receive a response. Several days later I emailed them and said that I had not heard from them yet and that I would be willing to take some coral frags (they have tons of coral). I still have not received a response from anyone. I do not appreciate the lack of response or concern for my devastating experience.

I just want to say thank you so much for all the frags if it wasn't for yall my poor tanks wouldn't be filled with corals of gold I have so many people that even travel 3-5 hrs to come buy things from me an say I should own a shop because of yall. Great deals an prices an really love the give aways also keep it up yall have my business no matter what. They can also ship when it's cold an snowing an when it's hotter then hot outside I have only had a few bad ones but they have taken care of replacing my corals.

First time at this place and won’t be my last! I’m new to the hobby and I’m very detailed I want to start off tight continue to learn and be better in everything I do. I’ve been to a few places in the area and I was very pleased with my experience here! I went to get som RODI salt water for start up but was floored by the friendly environment and knowledgeable staff! I definitely will be returning for many of my other needs even though it’s a 25min drive from home. It was very well worth it

I have bought dozens of corals in my 1st year of reefing from Aquarium Wholesale. Had one not make it in the box and they sent it out the next day. They have great service and carw about us as reefers. Auction time is funny and entertaining if you have time to watch. Website doesnt do them justice because the auction is where its at. No one move more coral than these guys!!

Well for the most part everything seems on the up-and-up and Patrick is a fair guy. But one of his co-workers or employees is a bonehead and well let's just say I was a little Miss LED I think and something I thought was a new item wasn't and all the parts were in there he's trying to rectify it and it's been a little while hoping you get my F6 very very very soon so I can get my 125 really with some good filtration cleaning water pumping goodness. So overall this is a good store fair prices I believe I'm not going to say much about the staff that all works there. Hopefully they treat everybody whether they spend five bucks or five hundred bucks when they walk in the door as the same. Every business to treat every customer like that even though they want them to spend a lot of money but yes. Anyways I recommend aquarium wholesale they would have got a five stars if my F6 was new and it was in my tank right now filter in the way. But it's not. So we'll see I just want it I want to get more fish. So everybody go to aquarium wholesale and buy your stuff and give him reviews. It's an okay guy even delivered my stuff for me for free and help me carry it in the house. But that's good customer service. Thank you Patrick I appreciate it.

Very neat store. I was very impressed by the variety of live coral being grown and sold. All the different address of the tropical fish were awesome, too. Everything was nice and clean and well taken care of. The atmosphere was super laid back and it was fun to look around at everything.

I loved this place! The employee, Paul, was extremely helpful and was able to answer all of my questions and gave great advice. Great selection of freshwater and saltwater fish. I got 30 lbs of gravel for $4! The only downside is the Prime conditioner I got there was $2 cheaper at Petco.

I left a review after a multiple bad experiences. I happened to be in oak park mall about the opening of a store and Patrick the owner sees me. This man he passes by me 4 times bullying me. Then he takes a picture of my soon to be opening business and says he's going to leave a fake review. Which if he does, I will contact Google and he will be receiving paperwork from my attorney Michael Townsend. Being a bully and trying to intimidate people because ones lack of integrity is not how people are supposed to act
