This is an amazing small town store. The residents are nice and welcoming. They have an iconic butterfly mural on their outside wall that says “Be the Change You Want To See In The World”. Go get a picture and put this amazing place on the map!! I visited not too long ago and it looked like the paint was chipping. I hope they keep up the maintenance on it.

Little expensive but That's expected of a small town. It has a big variety of things. It's got a couple of locally made products which I think is really cool. Like fudge and jelly's. Customer service is great just depends on the day

Very limited options. And the cold case fried chicken was all expired by several days.

They always have a better meat selection, than the one in pleasanton. Meats never green, unlike pleasanton thrifty, which most of their meat is green.

Always good variety. Can find most of what you are looking for, for a small town store. Decent prices. Even have an app with specials. Mostly friendly staff. Open decent hours. New coolers. Good people. Good food for you and your fur babies.

Prices too high ! Miracle Whip 10$! You can travel 1 block and get it from Dollar General for 5$! No big bags of cat food. People there are very friendly. But the deli is horrible lately. Chicken chunks instead of strips. And everything looks dried out. Sorry!

Small grocery store with a descent stock of food and other items. It's a great stop for ice and other items if you're camping or spending the day at Sugar Valley.

Most of the employees are very nice. The meat section is always great as well as the frozen items. However the person who works in fresh produce can be extremely rude and the produce is never good nor does it stay good i just bought mushroom to feed my family for tonight i open the package and there's mold in them. This could make someone sick i am pregnant so this could be bad for me and my baby.

Waited in line 15 minutes waiting on casher to figure out mistake she made on previousl customer - no apology or excuse just attitude take it or leavve it well ill leave it Iola snd Garrnet have alot better service service -you just lost $300.00 a month for your rude cashier-and by the way this seems to be a habit at your store - rude and unapologetic second time with rude cashiers at this store

This is for the OTR drivers and companies. Do not send rookie drivers here for delivery. Little town - small parking lot - smallDock. I had to ask a few 4-wheelers to move to have the room to get to the dock. Super friendly folks and quick unload for a facility like this. God Bless and see you down the road.

Always a pleasure shopping at Pleasanton (or Mound City) Food Fair. Lynnae and her staff at the Pleasanton location are knowledgeable, support the community, understand special diet needs and greet you with not only a smile but also a can-do attitude. A great team providing great service.

Was not impressed. The cashier was clearly irritated by the other cashier and taking it out on the customers. I asked her if her lane was open and she ignored me, so I asked a second time and she rolled her eyes and said yes. When she was scanning my items she just kept paying attention to the other cashier. She never told me my total, but since I can read, I pulled out $50 to pay her. She looked down at her paperwork and started writing in it and looked back up at the other cashier. (Who was having a long conversation with another customer.) She looked at all the people in her line now and said "aile 1 is also open people". All the whole I was holding the cash waiting. Finally she noticed and grabbed the money. She didn't even look at me when she went to hand me my change and I had to tiptoe to reach it as she just opened her hand to drop it. I had to ask her to push my bags to me, so I could reach them and she just barely shoved them, enough to make one of the products fall out, which she just left there and started ringing up the next person. I had to excuse myself to that next person in order to reach the bag of chips that fell out.Not a pleasant experience!!!

We moved to this area one year ago and I just love this grocery store. Every employee I have came into contact with at Food Fair Super Market in Mound City seem to genuinely like their job. They actually smile and speak cheerfully and are always ready and willing to help you. I have been to Walmart and seen less checkout lanes open than Food Fair has during their busy time. I do bimonthly shopping and due to my work schedule, I typically end up arriving at the checkout lane right at closing time with 2 carts of groceries. I do try to avoid this, but I have never sensed irritation from any employee there. The checkers have a good sense of humor and are always good for a little chuckle and the gentlemen who sack my groceries are just that, good old fashioned true gentlemen who are always happy to help. The prices on non sale items may be slightly higher than Walmart, but definitely not as high as Country Mart in in Garnett (CM should be ashamed of themselves; I consider what they do to their customers to be price gouging at it's finest). That being said, Food Fair does not hesitate to offer their discontinued products and products which are getting close to expiration at real clearance prices and they run pretty good ads so if you take advantage of those, you probably will end up matching Walmart pricing, plus I would much rather support a smaller store who obviously treat their employees right and value their customers.

it's convenient... but I refer to it as Food Unfair and Food Fail for a reason. it's quite expensive, almost convenience store expensive, and be sure to check the expiration date! so, why the 4 stars? the deli has decent lunch deals and a helpful staff, just get there before 3...

Got just about anything you need. In good supply. Some employees are a bit strange. It's a small town but im from a small town too and that's no excuse to act rude to outsiders. The lady who rang us up was nice though.

Close to home and they always have what I need, even when it's something a little unusual like wonton wraps. Not to mention I love supporting businesses that create jobs in our wonderful Linn County community ❤!

When you go grocery shopping here you have to make sure you check the expiration date... I once bought something that was 5 years old. Then when the have specials and you go in to get them sometimes they tell you that "was a misprint. Or make sure you check the prices are what they say they are...on sale or not. I fo not know one person that has gone in there and been charged a different price than what was displayed. And I am not talking just once, but almost every time!

I bought chicken on the 4th of april 2017. Today is the 5th and it was rancid with a sell by april 8th date.Just so you know we drove 10 minutes back to the house and immediately stored it in our fridge we keep at 36 degrees. So there is no reason it should be rancid.Either way, first and last time i'll be going to this store. I much prefer the pleasington location. Or perhaps i'll just start shopping in the town i work in.

Good selection of products. This little grocery store has good breadth, but not a lot of depth. Above average for a small rural supermarket.
