We stopped by Kathy's kitchen on the way from Kansas City to Oklahoma City. It sits 4 miles off of the 35, but is worth the drive. The food is good, service is great and the prices are very good. I had a cinnamon roll, bacon and eggs. The bacon was cooked perfectly, the eggs were delicious. I absolutely loved their coffee and cinnamon roll. I would highly recommend Kathy's Kitchen

Love this diner. All of the food was delicious, fresh and prepared to order. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. A true taste of country kitchen. The name was recently changed to Kathy’s kitchen. It was well worth the 4 mile drive off I 35.

Didn't actually go in. It was late in the evening they were closed we ate dinner at the restaurant beside them called the blue canoe. extremely Smoky and the restaurant due to poor ventilation and the food took forever to get. Made reservations for 7:30 didn't get set down until 9:00 mixed drinks were kind of questionable also. Will give it a second chance due to it being a new restaurant. As for Kathy's kitchen next time we're in Melbourne we'll stop in there and check you out. On good faith will give you a five stars. Looking forward to eating with you. we'll wait about 30 days and then go back and try the blue canoe again to see if they're getting better at operations.

The food was some of the best we have ever eaten. The owners were so friendly and made you feel like part of the family. I would definitely rate this 5 star plus. The decor was incredible. Just like the old time cafe's. All the food we ate was real homade food. A taste that is hard to come by but when you find it its like going to grandma's farm years and years. It's worth the drive from anywhere to Melvern just for the dining experience. Great great awesome job

The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. We got to Kathy's 30 minutes before closing. You would expect some disgruntled looks. Nothing of the sort. Welcoming waitress. My other half asks out of the blue for a non menu meal item. Waitress asks the cook, Sure we can! He even came out to visit for a minute. In times of fast food and serve yourself, it's nice to find a cafe such as Kathy's Kinchen!

We used Kathy's Kitchen as our halfway meeting spot with our daughter who lives 3 hours away from us. Kathy, her husband and all their kitchen crew made us feel very welcome and at home throughout the 2 1/2 hours that we spent there! The food was absolutely delicious, too!

So there's no place to go for a good homestyle cooked meal??.... Well, think again., cuz there is, and this is the place you can do just that!! Kathy's Kitchen offers a variety menu items, ranging from my all-time personal favorite, the Reuben sandwich, they also have an excellent taco salad. They offer a daily lunch special that differs everyday. Their BLT is an excellent choice as well as they're open beef sandwich, and we can't leave out or forget their rather large pork fried steak. As for dessert, your not going to find a better slice of coconut cream pie anywhere then here.The owners along with all of their personnel are super nice people and did I mention excellent coconut cream pie. Overall though Kathy's Kitchen is well worth the money for the proportions she serves, and well worth the visit!!!ENJOY!

Everyone in our group loves eating at Kathy's after a morning of watch trains over at Railroad Park. Their menu is excellent, everything is fresh, made to order and you can't leave without some pie.

A small cafe with good breakfast and burgers, but limited hours. It has been renovated recently. They now accept credit and debit cards. There is free WiFi but it didn't work when I was there. Overall a marked improvement over a few years ago.

nice restaurant with wonderful beautiful remodeled building and decor. Lots of work was put into it. They did well with groups off people. We go there once a month as a group and get good service.

Used to be Whistle Stop Cafe - loved the friendly waitress, the chicken-fried steak special with peas, mashed potatoes, wonderful toast followed by the sharing of excellent coconut cream pie. It's now a must-stop for camping stays at Melvern Lake.

Excellent place to eat considering there's no other place to eat in this town service was great the people were great is this very slow in the field space locker everyone lives anymore take about an hour and a half to get our food and eat it, besides that excellent food action staff
