I was really excited to visit here considering the good rating but was sorely disappointed walking in. This place is filthy. There isn't a single enclosure that doesn't have poop, urates, bits of shed, and dirty water. It's not like a few here and there that are just due for a little spot cleaning, it's literally every single one and it's clear they haven't been cleaned in a while. Empty enclosures remain filthy after the animal is sold. The flies are so bad, the person behind the counter was repeatedly swatting them. The "zoo" portion is just as bad. I feel terrible for the animals forced to live there. Two retics in an enclosure too small for one, inadequate enclosures for monitors, and an employee telling a customer how she "yeeted" a rattlesnake into a trashcan because she didn't feel like dealing with it was disappointing to say the least. I say this as a person working professionally with reptiles, including venomous, for a decade- do better for the animals.

Not gonna lie, when I walked in and saw the place dimly lit, with water-spotted glass tanks and fake plants, I started to make some judgments about this place but HOLY HAPPY HEALTHY CRITTERS was I wrong.Rare hard-to-find reptiles and they all are in absolutely amazing shape. It’s $5 to go into the side room “Reptile Walk” or something like that - ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. Rattlesnakes, enormous monitors, beautiful tegus and pythons, and at least one anaconda.Somebody or several somebodies know exactly what they’re doing there. I will be going back and recommending it to everyone I know who likes seeing beautiful reptiles.

The place was really cool... Could go just as a free zoo they have a wide variety of spiders and snakes and lizards... even have large tortoises walking around. You have to watch your step

Lots of reptiles! Some really beautiful ones. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you enjoy reptiles this is a must see place. It helps to be tall when you visit though because a lot of the reptiles are in top cages.

Everyone here is extremely knowledgable and friendly. They educate you rather than push you to buy something. We have bought well over 20 reptiles and amphibians from these guys. Pricing is very competitive! If you want the customer service with the sale come see these guys.

Nice place. A lot of variety. Very help full associates. Beautiful 22 year tortoise on sales floor, minding his own business, beautiful to see. However did not have what we needed at this time. Associate referred us to someone who could help what we were looking for and did find it. Excellent on there part.

Freaking awesome experience! They've got a pretty decent selection of critters and all of the things you need to take care of said critters. They've also recently opened up their "zoo" which is pretty cool and super informative. However, if you're not a fan of snakes, I wouldn't suggest venturing in the zoo. Also, I got to hold a baby alligator!

On the way to Widget Family Fun when I saw this on the side of the road and made the turn. Very clean store and friendly staff. The reptile zoo was inexpensive with some very large pythons and also venomous snakes. Very cool to see when out in the middle of nowhere.

This place has changed alot and not for the better! Two years ago it was very clean, friendly staff, & back zoo room was amazing. Went this week & it is extremely run down, dirty everywhere with dim lighting , foggy poop tanks. They still have a variety of reptiles but customer service not good as it was in past. "Zoo part was closed but I didn't want to give them my money anyways! Unless it has a turn around we won't go back.....Very little in stock merchandise.

Really cool variety of animals in their zoo. The staff is super knowledgeable. You can tell this is a passion for the owner. There's roaming tortoises, so that's real fun too.

Awesome experience, Great people!My family and I always drive past this place and finally decided to stop in. We were glad we did. Everyone in this place lived what they did and that was great from the start. Joe the owner who is very knowledgeable and passionate about everything in their walked my kids through EVERYTHING in there. They loved it. It was truly a great experience.I would rather spend $5 here to see all these reptiles, than to go to the zoo, where you spend a lot more to see a lot less and at greater distance.

First off, of you have any questions regarding reptiles, come here, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They're happy to show you whatever you'd like and inform you. Their reptiles never look stressed out like other shops I've been too. And they have a lot of variety for a smaller shop!! They have a little zoo to check out too, and even though it's small, it's worth it. They did a wonderful job on making sure each enclosure meets the standards of the reptiles, and there are some petty neat things in there. Kids will love it!

We have had pretty good experience here since buying our snake. However today my sons and husband had to deal with a condescending employee who treated my son like he was an idiot. I was very disappointed to hear about this. She had a chance to be helpful and pleasant, but instead ruined his birthday with her attitude.

The employees were super nice, informative, and entertaining! The reptiles were all pretty active too and fun to look at! Also one of the workers let my husband hold a snake and it absolutely made his day. Thank you for the wonderful experience! I hope we can actually buy a snake from y'all one day, you certainly got me to like them XD

Absolutely amazing how well the animals are cared for. The rats have oxygen tubed to them; any pet rat owner can tell you how much of a difference this makes to a rat's health when housed in a big breeding room like this (5000 rats.) They are so humane, even to their feeders. I got two fancy rats from them that are ok with human hands and healthy. Their reptiles are happy, too.

I’m very disappointed in what this store has become. I first visited Manhattan Reptile World in 2019. I was invited to film a couple of videos about their store and zoo. At the time I visited, this was the best reptile store I had ever been to. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.I was back in Manhattan this week and decided to stop by. The store was not what I remembered. I was very disappointed. The reptiles were in dirty, poorly-maintained enclosures, which were too small for the animals. The lighting was set up poorly. The staff was unfriendly.TLDR: Manhattan Reptile World was once a store that provided a great example of what a reptile store could be. Now, it’s a run-down reptile store with poorly-cared-for animals in too-small enclosures.

Not the best, not the worst. My biggest issue is customer service. I've been in the reptile keeping hobby for many years, when you've been around the block you know where to go online to get your necessities. I only come in store if it's something I need immediately. Every time I come in they act as if I have inconvenienced them for interrupting their smoke break. I never ask questions or need advice, always a quick in-and-out, yet they always look at me as if I'm clueless. Communication and how they speak to customers needs a little work. Still way better to go here than Petco/PetSmart if you're new to reptiles.
