Purchased a Stihl kombi unit 8 months ago, and they must be test run before customer takes possession. When employee finally got the machine to run he left throttle pinned for approximately 45 seconds. Machine now leaks oil/fuel after every use. Returned to store for warranty claim, left $45.00 with them to address said warranty?? When picked up, my son was told they did not know what was done to repair the unit. Used the next day and oil/fuel still leak from bottom of the engine cover. Left message for Carl, did not return call. After finally speaking to Carl, he indicated I would have to bring unit back again. Now opening warranty case with Stihl. The personnel in this store are not well trained, customer service is abysmal, and developing lasting relationships with their customer base in obviously not a concern. My family and I will not set foot in this store again.

The manager at this Ace Hardware is the worst part of going to this Ace Hardware, but the other associates are very helpful. I went in one time when they were getting rid of their big green egg line of grills, and they had a used MX sized grill for sale at the new grill price. When I asked the manager if they'd go down in price, because it clearly looked like it'd been used so much that the ceramic inside was completely black, he told me no and they only used it once.. I feel sorry for the person that ended up buying that from them, they had a new one in back for the same price. I would recommend the Derby, Central/Tyler, or Andover locations if you have to go to Ace instead of this one, or just go to Lowes if your in Maize. I can't stand when a company/manager tries to take advantage of people, especially now when you can just go to a different store or order online.

My favorite hardware store. I've been frequenting this place for many years. It keeps getting better. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind folks here. Great place for Christmas shopping, too!

The associates are very helpful. I ended up buying 1 bolt and realized I didn't have any money; the checker pulled money from the spare change cup to pay fory bolt. I was very grateful and returned later to replenish the spare change cup. I have always gotten excellent service here. Thanks

Carl was outstanding assisting us with an irrigation well pump replacement. So thankful for his knowledge and generosity creating a tool to actually remove the old pump; we could not have accomplished it, otherwise. Price was also very competitive.Highly recommended!

The Thing I hate the most about any Ace Hardware is the Fact that as soon as you walk trough the door there is a wall of people ready to jump all over you wanting to know what you want, like you gonna rob the place. I can’t stand that. NOT THIS ACE HARDWARE. when you walk The door the cashier says hello and that is it! When the sales guys see you walking around they will ask if you need help. If you say No they leave you alone. The owner of the store is always there working as a sales guy, everyone is super friendly and helpful but NOT in that pushy way. Some of it may have to do with they are located In a smaller town and probably have a few less workers then a normal ACE. So they may not have the time to fallow your around. But with small town ACE comes with that Small town Service that bigger city stores are missing, if you come in a lot they know you name. OVERALL GREAT STAFF, GREAT PLACE TO SHOP, GREAT SELECTION. THIS ACE IS THE PLACE WITH THE HELPFUL HARDWARE FOLKS

Easy rental and return. Prices were reasonable. Rented a skid steer and used it for almost 4 hours. Only about 150 bucks. Friendly staff quickly returned machine next day. I will use this location again. Thank you.

Great place and Great people, if you need any Stihl equipment TJ is the guy to see, very knowledgeable, he is great to me and my wife, we had used him numerous times. Also they have a great selection on Milwaukee tools. If you want great customer service, this is the place, hands down.

I was at the store this morning to pick up a Weber grill in a color I couldn't find anywhere except online. John was amazing. So helpful and courteous. Everyone in the store was amazing. Friendly and helpful. One of the best Ace Hardware stores I have ever been in!

Looking for a chainsaw. Wanted to shop local. The wife Called them to check inventory and they had two. Also asked if they price matched Home Depot for the item. They said yes. Went there the next day to pick it up. Got there, grabbed the chain saw and went to checkout. Told them about the price match conversation and they said that they couldn't do it. They wanted to know the name of the person who the wife talked to. Really? Does it matter? Lowe's and Menard's are just down the street. I guess I will go there from now on.

Have been looking to purchase a Blackstone Griddle. Saw one was available at the Maize location & on sale. My fiancé drove to Maize to purchase the griddle. When he got there, they told him it was “reserved” because someone needed a part off of it! So, they would rather scrap out a perfectly good brand new griddle than get a sale on the entire item?! TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR INVENTORY so, it’s not showing available for purchase & waste peoples time if you aren’t going to actually sell it!

We came in early in the afternoon on 6/24 with my 2 year old. She needed to use the restroom and we were told that they were closed because of the pandemic. How can you be open but not have access to toilet or hand washing facilities? I saw no hand sanitizer available for public use. They have lost our business.

I live in Augusta, my mom lives in maize and has many rental properties there, in Maize. My mom bought me a Christmas present from maize....that didn't work and the Augusta store took care of me ($200 item). I bought my mom a birthday present from Augusta and it wasn't something she needed (unopened with receipt...$40 dollar item). Augusta took care of me $200 opened item, Maize shut my mother down, unopened $40 item. Tj...you should be better to your long time customers!
