The Merc is a grocery store and more! As a Co+op, you can purchase an ownership for less than $100! Your purchases are rewarded with profits annually. If you live in KCK and are financially unstable, discounts are offered. They pay a high wage to their staff. The staff here were all very friendly. There's a deli where you can takeaway sandwiches, but that's what it's limited to right now, due to the pandemic. There's also a kitchen where healthy cooking and other classes are offered. You can also use the space for meetings, etc. They also have an area for you to dine-in which is along the windows of the building. The Merc seeks to feature locally-made products. It's a small shop so the selection of items isn't huge, but they definitely have what most people would need on a general day. On Saturdays, there's a farmer's market. They have a large parking lot which is free. There's accessible parking and an accessible entrance. Masking was required when I was there (August 2021).

Merc Co+Op in Kansas City Ks. My first trip was pleasantly surprising. There is ample parking at the store. The store was clean and very orderly. I thought I would have seen more items that were from locals. The store is located in a area that needed a grocery store close for residents to be able to get to. The addition was much needed. They have everything your big stores have. Prices are about the same. They did have some specials going on within the store as well. If your in this area check them out and support the effort to keep the store In this area.

They're a smaller grocery store. This is convenient if you just need to stop somewhere quick to grab a few items. Their produce section is the best part of the whole store. It always looks so clean and organized. My only complaint is that a lot of things are a little pricier than other grocery stores or markets

This is a good place to shop at, makes you feel confy because of the laid back atmosphere and the staff are neighborly. They don't have very much selections of things but what they offer is cool considering there aren't any grocers in the area, which should b considering. They are a bit pricey on some things but overall it's cool...

This little supermarket has been a blessing in our part of town, as we would have to travel at least 10 minutes to the closet one. The selection is good and the staff are helpful and friendly.

I didn't know this was here until today, but I'm glad it is. It's a nice little grocery that was needed in downtown KCK, with a good section and decent prices. It's that missing size of grocery store, between convenience store and supermarket that we can use more of again, as it's not always convenient to drive (or worse, take a long bus ride) to the big grocery, and you rarely find good, healthy choices at the convenience store (or Dollar General). I'm glad to see the Merc filling that need well

I used The Merc's bakery for my wedding, and they were so amazing! They have an amazing variety of cupcakes and cookies (and others, but this is what we had) including wheat-free! They were very reasonably priced, and their baked goods just taste delicious and organic and pure. Nothing added or extra sugary, just yummy yummy yummy. I've also been going to them since I was a kid for normal grocery needs, and they can really do it all. Love this place and 10/10 would recommend for anything and everything that they offer!

We always love shopping at this new Merc. It's less than 2 mi from my son's house in Kansas City Kansas and it was the only spot I would consider to take him shopping for healthy food. Everybody is really nice there in the selection is good. We bought some really excellent things and we are looking forward to enjoying them. My son had been complaining about living in somewhat of a food desert but the Merc is a bright light and what can sometimes be a dim neighborhood. An island of stability in a rolling sea of gas stations without pumps. Yay, go Merc. Update Sunday evening May 21st 2023: I spent just over $100 and I got enough food for a week! Their prices are pretty good. They're cartons of diet Coke are cheaper than at Dollar General.

It's a shame that thieving homeless men have necessitated a police presence. It's a convenient, clean, fairly priced grocery store in the inner-city. They stop selling beer at 8pm on Sundays.

I am so happy to have The Merc in the area! I find the pricing competitive. On a whim I decided to make black bean and sweet potato burrito bowls with green rice (Cookie+Kate recipe) and picked up all the ingredients here with a very reasonable bill. I go in at least once a week either for full grocery list or odds and ends. Staff is super friendly.

I love it. It is tiny but they carry a lot. They are very well organized and i love that they carry Tropicana pecan and nuts ice-cream. All the vegetables are top quality specially avocados 🥑! Have coupons and sometimes even treats.

This place is a life saver! There could be better selection in the meat and cold cuts. The fruit and vegetables are perfect for all the basics and there some culturally local items. It's a perfect neighborhood grocery store. I hope they get busier and stick around trying to come out of the pandemic.
