So many wonderful kitties, ready to be adopted, spayed or neutered with all their shots given. What a great deal... So many adorable babies needing forever homes. Low adoption fees. Staff are empathetic, willing to spend time with patrons and animals for meet and greet (walk-ins welcome although appointments are helpful), highly recommend. Dogs available as well, med to large size.

I drove over 2 hrs to get my puppy. They must take care of their animals really well, because she wouldn't eat the whole cheeseburger on the way home, only the meat patty. ♥️♥️♥️and the barn cat program is the best!

We actually were at the dog park, love bringing our fur babies there and on this day we had a few horses visit as well. Very cool love this place.

The staff was super friendly and let us take the animals outside to get to know them! I found my good boy Roscoe here and he’s my best friend in the universe. These animals get their shots and spayed/neutered as part of the adoption which is super handy and saves a lot of money.

I recomend this place of business, because it is clean, concise, and frankly I met one of the most helpful and kind ladies "Miss Kath" there while I was being helped with a S&N care and release program for the overpopulation of feral cats.We had to deal with a rare and unfortunate case where a cat (Dark Sunshine) had to be put down due to leukemia, she was suffering with severe internal bleeding.Most difficult for us because she happened to be one of the more friendly cats and easily became a favorite face each day. Kath handled the heartbreaking news very humane and with love in her heart. That in turn showed me how to relay the events in kind, so that all of the rest of us surviving animals in this pride better handle this loss and continued to know that we are all loved... everyone. This place is lucky to have such a good person working with them.And for these reasons and more to come if you'd like to know them..."I GIVE THIS AMIMAL SHELTER CAPITAL RED LETTER, ALL FIVE STARS."

This sweet girl was brought home from the Shelter. They did a great job of introducing The available puppies to our family as well as our other dog to make sure they were compatible. Staff went above and beyond. Highly recommend adopting from here

This is a city shelter and they take fantastic care of the animals, work hard to educate public on spay neuter and proper pet care and work even harder to adopt out as many animals as they can.

Must call ahead to get an appointment had a big selection of kittens and adult cats. Wanted a kitten but they were 100 bucks. So ended up getting an beautiful white female named Starla that had been in there long time and For 10 bucks. The girl that show us around was very helpful and had alot of information on each cat.

I wanted to Thank the animal shelter for such kindness and truly showing appreciation for there awesome job they do there. I fostered my kittens. Until they had room for them. It was very hard for me not being able to take care of them. But I knew they were in great hands and deserve to hear that there doing an amazing job.

We adopted a sweet dog today, and she gets along with our other two rescue fur babies. The staff was very good, and made time for us to view the animals. They were straight forward on any medical or behavioral issues on pets. They wanted to make sure we didn't get any unexpected bills or issues once we took them into our home.

Not real large. Only a small area with brush/shrubs, the rest is open grass/weeds/dirt. My dog and I stopped in our way through town on a long road trip. It was nice for that, but it isn't what I'd bring my dog to daily for exercise or socializing.

I especially love the animal control officer!!! Officer Destanee Ruebke has been a very caring , patient, kind, compassionate and genuine person in dealing wirh all the calls ive madw thus far!!!! My dog was stolen 1 year old golden retriever Red collar with his name and my phone number on a tag spend three weeks now the shelter has it in Lost and Found and they are very helpful

If I could give 0 stars I would. If your dog gets out, hope they don't end up here. They will give them to someone else claiming they were registered by microchip to another person when you were the one that had them microchipped and had picked them up another occasion from them when they called your number! Thank you for breaking our families heart. We had him for 8 years, now he is gone all because you lied and either gave him away or uthenized him. And yes I have all proof from microchip records to vet records and pics over the last 8 years. They will also tell you they did nothing wrong.

I'm really confused about the shelter situation. There have been many pleas to get these dogs forever homes so that they don't have to be euthinised. Well Ive been trying to find a small dog to adopt and it blows my mind that some of these places charge 300 bucks to adopt a small dog. Now I understand that the adoption fee is to cover the money that's been spent on the animal, like to recoup some of the cash. But at the same time I wonder if the adoption fee was cheaper maybe they could adopt more animals. I'm just saying

Top notch director and staff that really care about the animals. Too many people have the wrong idea about shelters. The staff here genuinely care about the animals in their care and want the best for them. I adopted a dog from them and she's one of the best dogs I've ever had. They've helped me out with strays and always are caring and compassionate.

I love the animal shelter. I just reported animal abuse I left my name and the address where it happened but I didn't give mine because I don't want things to happen between two neighbors and causing problems but I felt sorry for the animal I just hope it will be taken care of

Awesome dog park! 2 fenced in areas. However certain people allow their disobedient 60lb dogs that have no social skills and want to eat every other animal to run free in the section set apart for small dogs.. Guess they can't read... The park was very clean and well kept though! I had no problems taking my small dogs into the big dog park.

So we had gotten a dog that came from here. She was on her 3rd home (us) by 4 months old, with being returned twice before us. There was obviously a reason she was returned that many times being that young. I’d called multiple times with complaints about her, which were more of “medical” problems about her. Within the first 6 months of having her, we had noticed lots of tendencies of hers that matched up with being deaf, including not responding to anything. I’d called and called asking them to check her hearing for us since she’d came from here, which they told us “No, because she didn’t show signs of that when she was here.” Well, after a year of having her, we have to rehome her. We refused to take her back there as they told us she’d most likely be put down. And not to mention, the staff always seemed to snap on me and get really rude with me when I’d talk about my concerns to them. The new owner asked for her medical record so they’re aware of what she has and hasn’t had shot wise. After receiving this, I was FURIOUS. It clear as day says “She is not responding to noise or being called”, and says she will be examined by someone. I’m just furious because I called I don’t know how many times, and you know this record was there on the screen every time I called up there talking to them. I’d ask for medical records and everything possible getting a dog from this place if you ever adopt from here. Also, I feel in my heart they were tired of this dog being there considering they reduced their price on her when I was adopting her. They said it was because “I can tell she’s going to a good home”. But places don’t do that unless a dog has been there a long time or is an older dog. Because she was only 4 months and couldn’t have been there very long.

I have never been met with such judgment. The staff was extremely rude when I was just trying to do a nice thing and keep a litter of kittens safe. But instead I was met with rudeness and sassiness from both the staff and the manager of the facility. Next time I’ll know not to help any kittens. I worked In rescue for the entire five years I lived in Oklahoma, I’ve dealt with many shelters and none of them compare to how bad the shelter treated me.

Went in to look at adopting a dog. Three women working behind the counter and not one of them would show any without an appointment. The place wasn’t busy, so I guess I’ll buy from a breeder.
