A marvelous find ....much by accident as my GPS had first led me to a few places down the road. Luckily one of the nice people at BOOMERS (which was closing for their staff Christmas party) recommended TRAILS. Thanks to THAT person!!!!A lovely hometown restaurant obviously much loved by locals and I can understand why. Terrific, friendly, accommodating and very sincere staff quite happy to let me roam around the place during my meal. An eclectic offering of room venues ....a bar....a store....a sport room (with interesting memorabilia and big TV to watch the CHIEFS game....glad I was NOT wearing my Buffalo Bills hat!!!!) and the main dining room.The food service was fast and efficient and the soup (delicious homemade Italian Wedding) and salad bar was (sadly) more than filling for me. But next time I will try to time my visit for a stay-over and try their steak.

What a wonderful Cafe! The hostess was so friendly when we came in and our waiter was very attentive and polite! The service was amazing and the food was great. The catfish is an absolute must try! Great salad bar too and the desserts are fabulous! So many great pies to choose from and the bread pudding! Yummy! Be sure to check out the cute gift store as well! Definitely going to make this a must stop on our travels south!

Hi everyone, I highly recommend this home town cafe. I love their steaks, I don't know what they do make it so very very tasty. Home made food indeed. So when ever I can I go and get my steak fix at this little cafe. 😀 I've eaten a lot of their food and never been disappointed with the food or the service. The staff is awesome. So if I was you I would check out Trails Cafe. You will enjoy everything about it. So be prepared for some good old home cooking 🥩🥧🍲😋😋😋 oh yes I need to mention home made pie 😁.

We were traveling home and stopped at the Trail's Cafe for dinner. The staff is very friendly and the service was timely. The atmosphere is very comfortable and down-home. I ordered a chicken sandwich with chicken and mushrooms. It was very good and the bacon was delicious. The sandwiches come with homemade chips that are very good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. He said it was very good. Both of us had the salad bar. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and there were several other types of salads that were good as well. Off from the restaurant is a gift shop that is really cute with local items for sale. We will definitely stop again when we pass through Holton.

I can't say enough great things about this lovely little find! The food was delicious! My asaigo chicken sandwich was the special of the day, and I kept saying the whole time from first seeing it until now, 2 days later, boy, these folks can cook! My chicken was done! Yay! I can't remember the last time my chicken was properly done from anywhere ! The staff was very good. Friendly, efficient, helpful and just down right nice. The gift shop is so cute! Can't wait to take all my friends here, one by one! O, yes, the price really blew me away! Under 15 bucks, y'all! That included a perfectly baked potato. See y'all soon!

Food and coffee was good, waitress was wonderful. Bacon was THICK. Had to stop and drool over the pie fridge before we sat, cause omg it looked amazing, will definitely be back to try it.The skillet (can't remember the actual menu name) pick 2 breakfast, biscuits and gravy, pancake combo with extra bacon.

This place is FANTASTIC!! Hands down the BEST place in town to eat. We stayed in Holton for 9 month’s working at the power plant. My family ate here almost every day sometimes twice a day. So much so we learned our servers name & he probably knows ours. Reese is an awesome kid. He was always so polite & he always knew what we wanted.Thank you Reese

Listen peeps. This place rocks. All is great and ya can't go wrong. Kid friendly and a bar side so it covers all grounds. Home cooking style food that has yet to disappoint. Not too expensive. They specialize (per menu) in local meat and you can taste it. Seriously, I had to warn my city folk family that they would taste the meat. Like taste it lol.

Service was awesome, fast, respectful. Clean, fun, charming atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken cordon Bleu. The chicken was fried, but seems way more fried then there was meat, and not very much of the ham. It was okay. I saw other plates in the diner that looked way better then what I had. The portion size were pretty decent compared to the price. It would be worth going back and trying something else.Features: Good ole fashion sit down. No need for masks or any of that no sense.

I have stopped to dine at Trails Cafe now for 25 years on my annual Thanksgiving trek from Oklahoma City to Omaha.Trails never disappoints! Food is always fresh and wonderful and the service is always down home.Highly recommended!P.S. Save room for a slice of one of their homemade pies. Muy bien!

It's a decent Cafe, I've been here before and never had any complaints. Today I went here on a date for breakfast, got biscuits & gravy and hash browns. The bottoms of the biscuits were so hard it almost hurt my hand to cut through them. The hash browns were half undercooked and half overcooked, the overcooked part was so hard it made cracking noises as I tried to chew it. Probably won't be back but that doesn't mean others shouldn't give it a try. Staff is very friendly.Edit: And in response to your answer, I would've preferred to not have to complain about the food at all but we don't always get what we want :)I'm not a confrontational person and that's not going to change because you wanted a chance to right a wrong that shouldn't have been wrong in the first place, so I apologize that you'll never get that chance.Also telling me that your home cooked food is cooked fresh daily doesn't mean that it can't be cooked wrong. I came at the end of breakfast so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, I just wasn't prepared for what I got.Additionally, I don't have a preference for my hash browns for the most part, I just don't think it should hurt to chew them :(Hahahaha, wooooow. Okay.

We stopped by here on our way home from a nice trip visiting family. We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised! It was a very cute cafe that made it homey and comfortable! The waitstaff was very friendly and patient! Our food was delivered hot and delicious!! When we drive through again we will have to stop again!!!!
