This is our adopted Boston Terrier from heart of Jackson. Thank God for what they do and who they are! The kindest people who honestly care about the animals there. Got this little guy 6 weeks ago and we have him housebroken and healthy! His eyes look into your soul and he's the friendliest, funnest, grateful dog! He's been a blessing to us! Thank you so much for what you do!!!

Fantastic space and skilled friendly workers! Love the outside play area and the building was kept clean. I really liked the atmosphere and the way I was talked to/approached by the owner/workers. The process is quick and easy and yet thorough just the same. I adopted a beautiful dog today and am so happy!

We just adopted a wonderful dog from Heart of Jackson. Thank you to the director, Stephanie, for spending so much time with us. Stephanie really knows and loves dogs. This is an excellent shelter. Very clean, with ample outdoor space. The shelter had a wide variety of dog breeds for adoption.

Our family has adopted two furry family members from this facility. The kennels and entire facility are clean and comfortable. I was so impressed with them, I became a board member. We have some beautiful, sweet dogs. Please consider adopting.

We came up to the Jackson County Humane Society to drop off a couple of new large breed dog waterproof winter coats and they gladly excepted our donation. We got to tour their very clean facility and were very pleased with their entire complex with adequate spaced inside and outside kennels and exercise areas. I encourage everyone to visit soon and look at their many dog breeds that our up for adoption. Thoroughly Impressed Members!❤️

I adopted two wonderful dogs in 2019 Heart of Jackson Humane Society, three more in 2020. The facility is spotless and the animals well cared for. All the staff members I encountered were very courteous, kind, and caring. They truly do try to find good homes and good owners for each of the animals. I am very impressed with everything about this organization.

Our 4 children fell in love with one of the puppies after looking at many others at other places. They were friendly and courteous and had a nice facility. We filled out the application and were denied because one of our previous dogs' vaccinations were not up to date. We gave the dog away years ago. Our vet called and explained this situation to them and said we would be a great family for the dog. We also know one of the board members who also told them we would be a great home for the puppy. We explained the dog would be indoors at all times. We also said we would prepay the next 3 years of vaccinations. Needless to say she did not listen to the advise she was given. We had 4 hurt, disappointed children. After this incident we found out another close friend was denied that takes better care of her pets than most do their children. The owner is an VERY VERY poor judge of character. The owner complained of the finances of the business and now I understand why after turning down $395 for a puppy. I truly hope this post helps others not be hurt from them as we were. Please look elsewhere for your pets.

The dogs are well cared for including veterinarian care. Facilities are clean, big yard for dogs to run in, employees obviously care for each dog.

Staff was helpful to a point. Didn't care for the policies in place. I thought kill shelters were banned but apparently not. Place isn't correctly advertising services online. Helpful/NOT helpful

They are wonderful people who really care about the animals at the shelter and also screen potential adopters very carefully. We adopted a wonderful dog.

Clean!! Lots of outdoor space. My new puppy needs to be neutered. They sell a certificate to take to selected vets for $70 instead of paying $205. 00 my vet wanted.

Not only do we like to go and see the dogs and other creatures but we also take our sacks from grocery shopping so that they can use them to pick up poop piles and they always need sacks

Denying someone solely off of (and I quote): "Was not approved because the vet reference you listed is not in your name" OK, so because I work at a vet clinic and bring my parents dogs here to get their care and they pay for it that means that the reference isnt in my name but you failed to call my clinic or any of my references? Not sure how that makes sense and considering the amount of dogs you have I see why they arent going to their forever homes, its because you deny perfect homes for them. UPDATE: After one of the doctors I work with (I work at a vet clinic) called and asked them more information why I was denied they said they dont adopt out to people who rent housing or with children under 5, which I can understand. They made an exception for me as I do work at a clinic and I truly appreciate them for reconsidering my application, the only reason I did not move it up to four stars is because I truly think you need to put that you do not allow adoptions to people with children under 5 or people that rent housing (which is kind of weird in this day in age its cheaper to rent then to buy). I truly think what you all are doing is for the better of the pets but I think there are some rules you all need to update.
