Atmosphere wasn't bad if you don't mind being stared at by the locals, waitress never came to see if everything was alright, food could have been better. My wife got pancakes with a sausage patty, the patty was super dry , over cooked and loaded with salt. My toast was cold and dry, my hash browns were cold and tasteless and my eggs were over cooked , my coffee tasted like colored water.

Had a 10 min wait to get my order take. One waitress & both cooks were outside. I ordered the porkchop dinner. Said the pork chops were seasoned on the menu, they had no seasoning on them at all. I asked the waitress & she said the cook dosest like to season them. I had black eyed peas & turnip greens as my side. They were amazing. Just don't order the pork chops unless u like bland. Probably won't be back.

We stopped here because they are also a harvest host location. The food was great! Doesn’t look great from the outside, but the inside is very nicely decorated and clean. Great spot to stop at.

Stopped by and had a salad. It was good and great service. Someone else had a piece of Cherry Cheesecake that looked good, so I had one too! It was one of the best I have ever had. Fantastic! Highly recommend this wonderful place.

Mmm... we are very new to town and walked in and thought we had three eyes due to the looks when we walked in. Thought we would give a small restaurant some weekday business, but the ambience could have been more welcoming! I will say I can't blame the restaurant for the locals looking at us weird. Lunch was tasty and fresh, I had BLT sandwich. Service from waitress was very good.

The Red Rooster was packed the day we were in Harper. We ate there the night before and it wasn't that busy. As we were waiting, another local couple invited us to share their table, so we did. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Our food was delicious. Both my husband and I ordered cheeseburgers and fries. The night before, we had chicken fried steak and pie for dessert. The crust is homemade. We were happy with both meals and would recommend this cute little cafe to anyone who likes home cooked fare.

Hubby had the fried chicken special with corn and mashed potatoes. He said the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I had a Reuben and a side of "spicy spuds" (jalapeno and cheese tots) the sandwich was made with actual corned beef, not just lunchmeat! Grilled and cheesy..like at a good NY deli! The restaurant is clean and cozy atmosphere, the staff is super friendly and everything homemade! We will DEFINITELY be back!! (Maybe next time we will leave room for dessert🤤)

The wife and I were passing through and decided to stop here which was a great decision. Both the homemade food and service were excellent. Matt, the owner, even came over to talk to us and also gave us some free pork rinds. You should eat here.

Stopped here on our way down to Texas and we were starving by dinner time. Went in and placed a to go order for the open-face roast beef sandwich, smothered in gravy. MY LORD. SO delicious!We waiting at the counter for the order for about 10 minutes (tops) and talked to the nice waitresses.Great small town Cafe to stop at, screw the Subway down the street, come here and get REAL, good food.

Wow. Red Rooster was a standout. I had a delicious breaded chicken sandwich and an absolutely phenomenal slice of pecan pie. While I was there, everyone who walked in was greeted by name. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and generally awesome.
