My first time at Tanganyika with my kids. I had gifted them, The swim with the penguins experience. Had a really great time. And the swim with the penguin’s was a really cool experience ! The interaction with so many animals in the park was really awesome as well. We went during the week before summer vacation. There was hardly anyone there. So our experience was no wait lines at all! The park is beautifully maintained, and very clean. 10 out 10!

My kids had a blast here. Overall the zoo was very clean. The big difference to this zoo beyond the animal experiences to other zoos that I greatly appreciated is that when it came time to do the events the zoo keepers offered to take pictures for us while we interacted with the animals. As a mom I feel like we never get the opportunity to be in the photos with our kids. We are always the silent partner behind the camera trying to capture the memory. It was so nice to just focus on the interactions. Also I have to give a huge shout out to the young man who checked us in when we first arrived at the park. We had never been there before and he took the time to explain how everything worked, where to check in, made extra notes on my map for me of places I needed to pay attention to. Was super patient with all of the questions i had. He was an amazing employee for this zoo and really started our trip out on the right foot.

Every staff member we encountered was knowledgeable, friendly, and made an incredible impression on us! The park was clean and well laid out. My kids had a blast and we were able to relax while we enjoyed ourselves. The amount of animal encounters put this park on my highest list. And not only did my kids enjoy the encounters but we walked away with them learning so much from the staff as well. I can’t thank them enough for helping us have an amazing day!

Tanganyika was awesome, you can tell that all the zookeepers really cared about the animals they worked with and were passionate about what they do. Getting to have such up close encounters and interactions with the animals was unlike anything I’ve done before and it was so worth it. Unfortunately we went on a cold day and most of the animals weren’t out so that was really disappointing, but to no fault of the zoo. The only reason for one less star is I was disappointed in the size of a lot of the animal’s cages. I know a zoo in general isn’t the best place for an animal but it just really felt like a lot of the enclosures were lacking and that made me feel sad, especially with all of the talk about how the money goes towards different non profits and everything. Overall I had a great experience and I would definitely like to come back on a warmer day to see more of the animals.

We had a wonderful day at Tanganyika Wildlife Park! I took my 8 year old granddaughter on Saturday and we stayed the whole day. We did a behind the scenes Sloth experience and it was very cool! We met Chewy and Molasses. We got to feed them, pet them and have our picture taken with them. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions (and we asked a lot of questions)! It was truly a wonderful experience to see them in person and learn all about them.We spent the rest of the day at the park viewing pretty much every animal exhibit and feeding several different animals as well. We got to see Latke the new baby pygmy hippo. He is a cute little potato! We also got to see a new baby kangroo peeking out of its mommy's pouch in the kangaroo walk thru exhibit but I think the show stopper for us was the baby lemurs. They were so fun to watch playing and jumping around! Also, did you know, there are resident animals in the ladies bathroom near the splash park... they were fun and curious about us as we walked in. However, the loud hand dryer kind of scares them a bit I think. Be sure to stop in and say Hi!If you haven't been to Tanganyika you gotta go! And if you have or haven't been in a while, go back and just take in some of your favorite exhibits to see again. We will definitely be returning again soon and throughout the summer. And, I'll be sure to stop in the ladies room to say Hello to the residents there as well! 😉

My mom, sister and I had a great time.We did the otter experience and found it informative and very enjoyable. The staff was AMZING. Lemurs are also my favorite animals and got to feed them. We had a wonderful time. Only downside, it was cold and you could not buy anything warm like hot chocolate to warm up.

We had a wonderful day at Tanganyika wildlife Park. The park is lovely and clean. The price to go during the week is $29. It includes five feedings of the various animals. This was incredible. My three-year-old grandson absolutely loved getting up close with kangaroos, giraffes, tortoises, rabbits. Had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back. The only bit of advice I would have is If you're on a budget, take your own lunch. They allow you to bring in your own food and drinks. We ate lunch there and it was about $50 for four people. And also take quarters, so you can use the machines to get food to feed the various animals. Feed the koi fish, the alpacas and goats. Our favorite interaction /feeding was the lemurs. That is incredibly wonderful. They bring your group into the lemur habitat, you sit down and they'll even take pictures for you. The lemurs climb on you and sit in your lap. Highly recommended!!Also if you don't like birds, don't go in the Lorikeets, once you walk through with your little cup, they will land on you, land on your head, your shoulders. They want that nectar in the cup. Very cool experience, again, if you don't like birds, I don't recommend you go in.

Our visit started with the Down Under meet and greet. Stacey took us to interact with Olive, the red kangaroo. Then we went to visit Murray and Lucille, the kookaburras. These birds have an infectious laugh! Each member of our family got to have one of the birds fly onto their flat hand. The day ended with an okapi tour tour led by Kayleigh. She was so kind and really ensured my daughter had a great experience feeding and painting with Moyo. I think that was our favorite experience that we’ve done.TWP is a truly magical place. The grounds are impeccably clean. The keepers are knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend visiting….we don’t know of any other places where you can feed lemurs!

I have always wanted to experience Tanganyika and I'm sure glad that youngest son's class scheduled a field trip upon arriving check-in was easy enough we had a brief presentation with a wonderful presenter and then we headed out into the park pretty much on our own the park is more expansive than I thought it would be for being a smaller non-government funded facility. With the provided Maps the downloadable QR map and all of the interactive exhibits this was truly a one-of-a-kind experience that we will definitely be experiencing more of. We live about an hour and a half Southeast on the Oklahoma Kansas border and we venture to Sedgwick County Park and Sedgwick County Zoo often and are typically season pass holders I'm almost 100% certain that we will become season pass holders to Tanganyika as well the experience alone was worth it the animal exhibits are up close and seem a bit more personal the animals all seem to be extremely well taken care of and the staff was extremely courteous the facilities were top-notch.

The website is awful. When you order the tickets. nothing tells you your entry is early nor the time, nor the discount for seniors. Also, when you click on "Grab your tickets," it goes into a loop and never lets you grab the tickets. These need to be fixed. Also, it's hard to understand what animals you can interact with and whether it is included in the entry price or if you have to pay extra for.Otherwise it is enjoyable.

My wife and I visited Tanganyika for our 20th wedding anniversary on April 9th, 2024. I specifically chose this zoo because my wife is in love with giraffes and Tanganyika offered a giraffe experience at their location. Let me just say that the website does not do this zoo any justice because what I was expecting, per the website, versus what my wife and I experienced, was in different parts of the solar system. I booked the "Best Day Bundle" which includes many things and from past experience with other zoos I assumed that I'd be relatively satisfied but not blown away. Let's just say I was wrong! First the 3 women (unfortunately I can only remember 2 of their names) we interacted with most of the day were fabulous! Ellie and Taylor literally make this zoo! Ellie was the first staff member we came into contact with. Throughout the day when she would see us she would "check in" to see how our experiences were, how we liked the zoo, and generally how our day was going. Ellie is an employee that I feel any zoo would be so lucky to have. Taylor was our guide on the two animal experiences we did. We did the giraffe and big cat feeding experiences. Taylor was smart, patient, kind and sweet. She knew the answers to almost everything we asked and when she didn't wasn't afraid to find the answer. Nell and I could not have asked for a better tour guide. As far as the zoo itself we were not prepared for how immersive it is. You literally walk in the front door and are standing within 10' of a 15' giraffe just hanging out. The exhibits have an unexpected feeling of inclusion. Obviously there are barriers that separate you from the animals, but the barriers are done in such a way that you almost feel like you can touch whatever animal you are observing. The animal experiences that we participated in were way more in-depth than what the website described. Seeing behind the scenes was so much fun!Overall if I could give this zoo 10 stars I would. Tanganyika was amazing, the people were amazing, and we loved our time visiting. 100%, Money well spent!

My husband and I visited Tanganyika on a Sunday. We had such a fantastic time. Feeding the animals was a dream come true. I didn’t want any ‘experiences’ but my husband did. He got up close and fed a lion and fed a sloth. Loved it! The park was small enough to navigate successfully. Staff were available everywhere to help with questions. We definitely recommend!

We held our daughter’s 3rd birthday party at Tanganyika. It was awesome! The party room was clean and bright, it had plenty of tables that were already covered with tablecloths, and a great area we could use with a sink and counter. Restrooms were close, just down the hall, they were very clean! The keeper who brought in animals was great with the guests, and was very knowledgeable. Our daughter left smiling! We received a pass to return during season with feeding pass and a gift card for the gift shop! This party far exceeded my expectations of a 3 year old party!

We had a wonderful time! I was a little worried my older kids (12 and 19) would be bored, but they had so much fun. We fed the hippos, giraffes, goats and lorkeets. We got to pet the kangaroos and watch the monkeys and lemurs play. There was a long line to enter the park, but once inside, it didn't feel crowded at all. We visited during Spring Break. Worth the drive from KC!

We had an amazing time at Tanganyika during our recent visit. Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. The park is compact and easily navigated. My grandkids were thrilled with how many animals they were able to touch and feed! We scheduled a Sloth Experience during our visit and it was wonderful. We can’t wait to return! #toucheverything

We had our wedding on 10.31.2023 and it was everything we wanted and more! Ashlee did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed, plus a bit extra due to unforeseen weather issues. Highly recommend having a wedding on the wild side ❤️🖤

I purchased the "best day" package for our son's birthday trip & unfortunately Mother Nature didn't cooperate (the high was 39° for the day) but the staff was amazing! We got a partial refund due to most animals being inside & feedings not being done but our experiences were still a GO! The VIP lounge was a great place to warm up & offered us free hot Coco! Even though the weather was cold we still had a wonderful experience.

Tanganyika provided an affordable, indoor space for my 5 year olds December birthday party. It was super cool, educational and interactive experience that the kids and adults all loved. My son was able to choose 4 animals that he and his friends got to learn about and touch. The sloth was the fan favorite for sure!We did upgrade to the package that included decorations, which was definitely worth it. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the event and everything was set and ready to go! We only had to set the snacks. They also did all the tear down as well. We just made sure the trash and what we brought was cleaned up. Taylee checked in on us several times to make sure we did not need anything. My one and only complaint was that the acoustics in the room were not great making it a bit loud. But my son and his guests all loved the experience! Thanks for making his birthday party dreams come true.

WOW! What an unforgettable experience! My family and I came in from Kansas City to visit and it was incredible. We were there from open until close. The splash park is a wonderful addition so be sure to bring your swimsuits, sunscreen, and towels. Such a great way to cool off on a hot day. We loved the unlimited feedings option. My kids could not get enough of it! We can't wait to come back again!!

Our family had an amazing visit, this was our first trip to this zoo. It was by far the best experience we have ever had at a zoo. We were impressed with the staff, facilities, cleanliness, exhibits and animal health. Even though we arrived later in the day the staff was so kind and patient with everyone they encountered. Staff members were everywhere to answer questions and help make the most of our visit. They were very knowledgeable about all of the animals and my kids loved how each animal had names and the staff could tell unique things about each one. Families were having fun and enjoying themselves everywhere we went. The animal exhibits were exceptional, so clean, plenty of equipment for the animals to be active. The animals were extremely well taken care of, you can definitely tell they are well loved.

We came for the otter and sloth experiences and they were INCREDIBLE! The ladies who led the experiences were kind, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. We believe one of our guides was Stacey, but unfortunately, we cannot remember the second. They were both so great.

I have had several people recommend visiting and I am so glad we did! There are so many opportunities for animal encounters. I am impressed with how clean the area is and how healthy and animals look. Employees stressed not bothering animals who were away/under cover and to leave them alone if they got up and walked away. I didn't notice any stress behaviors during our visit and we even saw more animals playing that we usually do at zoos. It is fairly expensive to visit so we won't come as often as we would other similar spaces but we will definitely come back again sometime. Do buy tickets online though as they are cheaper than they are at the window. We got the passes with unlimited feedings and had a great time with them.

What a wonderful animal park!! It was small enough to enjoy for an hour or two but the hands on animal experiences are what makes this place so wonderful!! The keepers were very knowledgeable and nice and everything was clean and well kept. We did the otter meet and greet, which I did think was a little expensive, but was the opportunity of a lifetime for my little otter lover. If I ever get back up to Kansas, I will definitely return.

We loved the Tanganyika Wildlife Park! It was so much better than the Detroit Zoo, and Indianapolis Zoo. We felt up close and personal with so many animals, not only to interact with, but a closer view that wasn’t crowded by other guests. The animals seemed well taken care of, and had clean areas to live in. The animals were moving around and playing with each other while we were there, and were friendly during interactions. Staff from all areas shared educational info about each animal and were kind. We will be coming back to get even closer and schedule meet and greets. Check the times for interactions before going so you don’t miss any!
