Booked multiple rooms for a sporting event weeks in advance. While checking in, the desk clerk argued with us about the price we reserved at and told us the rooms were $200 a night (Hilton and Marriott 30 miles away were only $140/night). Finally got him to agree on the price and got checked in. My kids and nephew went to check out the pool area, and the hot tub is ice cool and the pool isn't much warmer. Neither are usable. Spoke with the clerk again about it and he told us the were out of service and he wasn't able to give us a refund for it. The whole reason we chose that hotel was for my kids to swim in the pool. Asked for a refund and he said they don't offer refunds on cancelations. Very upset at this point but there was nothing we could do.As far as the rooms, toilet paper holder was broken, shower head plugged with hard water buildup, and realized our door handle was broken to the room. Would take 3 or 4 turns of the handle to open the door.The next morning, the breakfast bar only had cereal, waffles, bread, and plain bagels (no cream cheese). Zero fruit, no creamer for coffee, no muffins.Will not stay at this hotel again

We have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years and sadly there has been such a decline in this facility. Our room was fairly clean but needed a good deep clean. The bathtub had hairs in it and there was a broken tile on the floor. The hallways needed vacuuming. Our room key rarely worked, we had to get new keys almost every time going back to our room. Housekeeping came to collect our towels, and did not replace them and did not take out our trash. The Hot tub was broken and the pool temp was cold. Our kids swam but only lasted about 15 minutes. I could go on but I won’t. I will say the front desk worker was polite and tried to handle any requests we had. I realize you get what you pay for and we paid $72 a night but next time we come home we will be staying at and Air B and B or in Hays.

Good evening if your traveling please stop by because this hotel is clean great breakfast clean pool best beds in town it feels like home the staff treats you like family if you have a cat a dog bring them along because they have cats to here they feed the cats that people just left behind myself and my 75 year old brother was traveling and their was a big storm coming threw and we called the hotel and they said come check in and stay we checked in at 7 am my brother and I took the day off to rest and relax if you wanted a day to relax come stay at this days in I took a nap and when I woke up I felt like I was home awesome stay . Your pets are welcome. Affordable so shouldn't have had high expectations for this franchise hotel but high reviews gave false expectations. Not sure how it has over 4 star rating. Family stay on a road trip passing through. Unfortunately room was dirty, looked like it had a quick clean but dust on all somewhat out of the way surfaces, piled high in corners and along all edges of walls. Beer bottle cap and very old dead fly on floor, was afraid to look under bed. Sheets were clean but wrinkles with light stains, ratty blanket between the sheets. Bathroom fan knocked loud noises all night. All was okay though until breakfast. Expired yogurt and juice machine poured out OJ that we should not have drank, it was off colored and we realized sediment in our glasses a bit too late, one of our kids threw it up a couple hours later. Clearly the machine has not been maintained. Oddly key cards said super 8. Other reviews mention cats, one was sitting outside the front door but didn't see any inside. It is a pet friendly hotel, I asked if there were non pet rooms available to avoid any dander for my kids but was sort of shrugged off. We aren't picky and rarely leave reviews, but felt misguided by positive reviews of this hotel so wanted to leave a record of our stay. Would have commented to hotel staff upon our departure but couldn't find anyone.

Check in smooth. Ask desk agent about pool and hot tub. Said it closed at 11. Went to check at 9:30 and lights were off to pool area and note says hot tub was broken. Got to room and was filthy. Diirt snd trash around night stands and around edges of walls. , dead bugs in over head light covers, bed was partially made with sheets that have holes in them. A/c unit broken. Elevator was filthy withy over head light full of dead bugs. Stray cats all over property and at entrance.

Location is not as good as the Days Inn in Hays (loya more activities), but we got stranded with car problems. Check-In was relatively quick and easy. Room was decent except it didn't have a microwave like it was supposed to. There is a microwave in the breakfast area. Speaking of, typical waffle iron and cereal type breakfast. But for the rate, just over $60 a night, with taxes and fees, it was nice to at least have something included. Room was quiet and A/C worked well. Towels were a little thin and ragged but sufficed. Pillows sucked but bed was fairly comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.

This is basically a truckers motel. I read some of the negative reviews, but come on now. This is not south beach Florida. This is the only motel around and it's not bad. Free breakfast waffles , boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt toast n bagles, ☕️ coffee...etc..Also there's a swimming pool and exercise room. The rooms have refrigerator and microwave and most cable channels. All for 60 bucks online..Casey's general store next door and a loves ❤️ truck stop across the street.. there shouldn't be any negative reviews of this place..So they have cats 🐈 hanging around....that means no mice 😃

After driving 12 hours because I had an emergency I was denied checking in at 5:45 am. Clerk said it’s against there policy even though I obliged to be checked out before 11am same day. He said he couldn’t show me the policy and asked “why would I drive 12 hours just to try and check into a hotel at 6 in the morning”. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he wasn’t rude about the whole process and literally rolling his eyes with a nasty attitude and putting the blame on his supervisor who he refused to give me any info or policy from.

I’m not entirely sure how this hotel has a 4.1 rating at the time of this review unless a bunch of the previous reviews are friends and family of the hotel. Very dirty hotel that needs major updates. Sheets and bedding were thread bare and stained, pillows were floppy and needing replaced. The bath towels and pool towels were the size of hand towels and so thin you could see through them. We had two rooms, both of our showers backed up during a normal shower and the toilets were stained. We stayed during a Kansas summer thunderstorm and during the night both rooms had rain coming through the window seams and through the wall around the air conditioner. The pool floor was very slick (reported by my kids). I can’t tell if that was just the condition of the pool or if it was slime on the bottom. After all of those things, we decided to not take our chances on the breakfast and got the heck out of there.Positives: the woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. It was within walking distance to the Loves gas station and A&W.

I carry a UV light when traveling to check for cleanliness and bed bugs. No bed bugs here but this place lit up light a Christmas parade. The first room we got smelled and the bathroom was filthy as per my light. The second room didn't stink and the bathroom was acceptable. Both rooms and I'm sure the whole place needs its carpets deep deep cleaned. There also were torn sheets on the bed.The breakfast was abominable, the trash was filled with waffles and for a good reason, they were awful. The girl at the front desk was very sweet and helpful.Rooms: Bring a UV light, dirty is an understatement.

I highly recommend Days Inn Ellis Kansas over that of any other hotel in Ellis County, Kansas.The rooms are impeccable, the service outstanding in all respects. Everything is exceptionally clean. The hotel is listed at 2 stars but it actually competes with many 3-4 star rated hotels at about 1/2 the cost of any comparable hotel in Hays, Kansas.The room had no flaws. The bedsheets were clean, fresh and appeared to be a higher thread count than you would expect. The bathroom was absolutely spotless. 4 stars 🤩The hotel employs people directly from within the community at both his hotel and restaurant (A&W) in Ellis. They take pride in ensuring everything exceeds standards.No flaws!Well worth driving the extra 14 miles from overpriced Hays to stay here.Walkability: Nearby restaurants and local businesses.

Soo a 2 Star hotel with 4.5 stars should have been a red flag when I booked this hotel. We stayed here on our way to Colorado. TERRIBLE!! Where do I start….the lobby smelled of old dingy water and cats! Ok I can get passed that. Got our room…when to put our stuff away and the room door would not open, had to push it with full body weight to get it to open. Walk in and the room hadn’t been fully cleaned, two pillows still needed pillow cases. Later on another family traveling with us came to ck in and they gave her room AWAY!!! Tried giving them a king bed room for 4 people! She booked a double room!! Went to go to bed and found FLEAS in our bed! I get being pet friendly but you have got to have some sort pest control and a better cleaning system! Another family traveling with us had tried up puke on their floor!!! The beds had two sheets and an old thin “blanket”. The floors were dirty, the room furniture was dirty…just dirty overall! These “5” star reviews they are getting can not be real! But I guess this is what you get when you pay $100 a night! Never again!

Horrible experience. We were to have block of rooms at agreed upon price and didn’t honor. The facility was dirty. Kitchen breakfast area floor was sticky. Main light in room did not work and no one bothered the next day to try and replace even after being asked. Breakfast is minimal and that’s if you want to have your shoes stick as you get your items. The floor needed mopped. Carpets did not look freshly vacuumed. The entire stay just bad. We will not be staying here ever againNoteworthy details: Not worth your money even if cheap rate. Luckily the mattresses looked free if bugs but everything else less than expected.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! This hotel has BED BUGS! We arrived late and went directly to sleep. My daughter woke up with multiple bug bites which caused me to start looking for the cause and found LIVE bugs and eggs!! The owner does not want to do anything to resolve the situation. However, the staff working there is helpful and polite and very embarrassed.EDITED: I have reached out multiple times to the owner of this location and he has never responded. I reached out to the corporate office and they tell me to speak with the owner. Absolutely no help!Rooms: The rooms would be nice if there were no bugs.Safety: Due to the owner not wanting to take care of the situation it causes a safety issue.

Clean rooms and good price. Outdated overall and the common areas smelled pretty bad. Multiple cats sit at the front entrance and on the furniture, they don’t bother but I am slightly allergic. Basic breakfast of bread/waffles/cereal as expected, no hot food. Front desk was robotic but nice. Overall worth it for the price. I felt safe and clean which was all I needed for a quick stay on my way to Denver.

Stop in Hayes instead.Dirty.Stained carpet. Stained lamp shades. Every flat serfuce above 5.5' was dusty. The ac vents were caked in dust, moths, and various other unidentified particulates. It would barely blow because the pull out filters were filled with dust so the room never cooled. The sheets didn't fit the bed and were scratchy. The toilets are stained green and didn't flush right.I called down to guest services several times. they never answered the call.The worst hotel stay we've ever had. I didn't sleep all night. We felt gross.

We stopped at this hotel last night after a long drive on I 70. They went above and beyond when they heard we had three young boys. They brought us some yogurts because the boys had slept through dinner. The next morning, we enjoyed a yummy breakfast, complete with mini waffles, which we had never seen before at a hotel. The staff brought over a highchair for our six month old, and when she noticed that he wasn’t sitting very stable, she brought out a pillow to help support him. She also brought a warm washcloth to the table to help us clean up our sticky, syrupy boys. We were extremely pleased with the customer service.

Me and my husband had a wonderful stay! We were on a roadtrip, and our AC broke, so we went in to Days Inn, and this wonderful receptionist helped us! She was so considerate, and so lovely! We will forever be thankful for her help!Rooms: The rooms were quiet, great AC, spacious, and so nice. They had a TV, a desk, nice shower, soap, towels, hair dryer, and a coffee maker.

Terrible Place to Stay. Service was terrible. Room was dirty ( found dirty men’s socks under our bed) no pool towels for the Ron of kids- front desk did not want to wash pool towels because it wasn’t her job. She was never at the front was in a room to the left on her phone. Key card had to get re activated through out the weekend. Lobby was super hot.

Location is great right off the interstate with easy parking and close to gas stations and restaurants. The service I gave 2 stars because there was only 1 towel in our room and we needed 2. Called the front desk and while the employee was nice enough he was the only one there so anything we needed we had to go back downstairs to get. Other than missing a towel the rooms were ok. Breakfast was minimal. The waffles smelled amazing but I didn't have time to fix one. If you like fishing be sure to grab a pole and head to the Ellis Campground during the season. River water is super low right now but pleasant to sit beside and there is free WiFi, a park area for the kids and bathrooms.

The night crew went above and beyond for us! We got in super late and I had totally screwed up our reservation by mixing up dates. They tried hard to fix it for me, despite it being booked 3rd party.They were kind and understanding and I appreciate them! The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. I totally recommend this property if you're in the area and need to stop.
