This is an amazing shelter. They make sure the dogs go to the right homes. Their adoption process may seem long to some, but we know it’s to ensure that the dogs only have the best families. We adopted these siblings, Sherman and Collins, after both had been returned to the shelter several times due to no fault of their own. We love them both so much and they have been a great addition to our family. The staff and board members are great to work with. The best shelter I’ve been to by far.

Roommate got Dexter there almost 3 weeks ago. This sweet boy was in there for 9 months! He's one of the sweetest boys ever & protects my Chiweenie from harm. He's such a good boy!

I had a rather sticky situation with a stray dog I had been caring for for about a month and unlike the animal rescues/shelters that were close to me, CC Animal Rescue jumped at the opportunity to help me and my situation. Despite being almost 4 hours away, they didn't refuse to help because I was "outside of city limits" and other such reasons.They stayed in contact and worked with me until they were able to help directly. Luckily, I was able to solve the issue myself before I was supposed to drive up over here, but I will never forget the kindness and willingness to help anyone- no matter the distance or the circumstances of the problem.I will definitely be helping this wonderful rescue whenever the opportunity is presented. Thank you!

We recently adopted a dog from CCARE. We had a great experience! The staff were great! They are very knowledgeable and kind. It's clear that they care very much about the dogs that are brought to CCARE. Recommend!

I looked for a dog for months before I got one, and CCARE was great. I filled out the application for my baby boy, they had me come out to meet me and Saige, and they were honest with me about his history! They were super helpful and took good care of him before I got him.

We got our sweet old boy from there a year ago. Every time we've been out since to say hello, the place was and still is, very clean. The staff is amazing, especially Scott. They do a lot of community events, and are very welcoming to surrounding communities as well. The animals are well taken care of, and it shows.

CCARES was and remains a blessing to doggos and prospective doggo families. They quickly helped us rehome a beautiful brindle boxer that we fostered. After our dear beagle passed, they helped us by recommending the best companion for our gurrrrl - a senior old Pit gurrrl. She's now the big sister for her her own companion. We've been and will continue to be committed donors to CCARES and recommend them because of their visible, measurable commitment to caring for rescues and matching them with furever families. Took a trip out to visit this rescue and we were so impressed. We found a dog we fell in love with. Called and let them know that we wanted her and got everything all set. We immediately went out and purchased several hundred dollars worth of puppy stuff. We get a call that we can not have her until she is spayed. We made arrangements to go visit her today and we would have continued to visit her until we could bring her home. After driving almost an hour we arrive and find out that the ONLY puppy that had to go the vet (where the board president is a technician) was the puppy we locked in to adopt yesterday. We were already told the board president’s daughter was attached to this puppy so it was going to take a bit of time to break the news to her. While we were playing with the other puppies, because after all we had driven almost an hour, another employee comes in an tells us the board president decided to adopt the dog we were adopting. So after about two hours of the run around we find out that after spending all of that money and driving out there twice if we wanted a dog we could pick a different one because the board president was keeping ours. We have 3 children that are crushed.

Posted on internet they are open M, W, Funtil 6:30 pm. I had 3 cases of Hills Science Diet to donate. Was there at 4:20 pm on a Monday. There was a note on door "back at 6." I live over 30 miles away so returning wasn't really a convenient option.Took it home and found another place to donate.If you're only open 3 days a week someone should be there on those days.Very disappointed!!

What a fantastic non profit business. They are a No Kill dog shelter. Recently they started a Foster Program for dogs.If you love dogs, please donate anything you may have to help them continue to find homes and owners for man's best friends.

It's a wonderful place and I'm very happy that we have them! Now I'm wondering how to go about changing the laws here in Clay. Cold weather laws to be specific. I've seen too many pets left out with minimal shelter. It's not acceptable.
