Establishment was clean, nicely decorated and had a good atmosphere (it was a little loud). The staff was friendly and helpful, our waitress was genuinely interested in our happiness with our meals. We had the cheese fries appetizer which was good but it felt like it was missing something. Some sort of seasonings or a sauce to dip them in might make a difference. My gf had the sirloin with mashed potatoes and a side salad. Her steak was cooked perfectly to order and she was very satisfied with her meal. I had the chicken fried steak with fried okra and mashed potatoes and I was very happy with my meal as well. Price was good for the quality of the food. I would definitely eat here again and recommend to others!

I traveled to Burton from west side of Wichita to try this small town restaurant. The food was delicious. I had the Barn Bowl, which consists of corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, topped with chicken fried steak or chicken. I had the steak this time. I also had fried okra. The hostess was charming and bubbly. My waitress was quick and also pleasant. The atmosphere was interesting, having memorabilia representing the significance that agriculture has in rural Kansas community's.

The place was very busy, so parking was a bit of a problem. They do have handicap and veteran parking. Our server was fantastic. Fast, courteous, and accurate. We had gone there specifically for the chicken fried steak, but started with fried pickles. They were fantastic. A bit of spice to them but they were great. Then we had the chicken fried steak. It could use a bit more seasoning, but the meat was fork tender, you truly didn't need a knife to cut it. Being a bit away from the city, I was nervous, as 2 of us are transgender. At no point did we feel out of place. This was just one visit, so I can't say for sure that this is LGBTQ friendly, but it definitely was when we went.

Really cool building. Busy and crowded but we got in right away. Our waiter was a little preoccupied but did a good job keeping water filled. Steak was over cooked (asked for medium and it was well done) but had a good flavor. My partner had pork chops and they were tender and seasoned nicely. Big portions. I’d go back. Probably try a burger or sandwich next time.

Order meat Loaf. It was not good. Let my severe know about it she took my plate of food back. I was asked if I would like something else. I Order the pork Chops. Thay was Great. Was pleased. Tell I received my bill thay billed me for both orders. If I would have known I would get billed for food I could not eat. I could have took it home and gave it to my Dog. I spend A lot of money there and tip great.

I came to this place because it supposedly has the best chicken fried steak in Kansas. It also wasn’t very far off my route for the day. The special on Friday was chicken fried steak with a smaller portion. I got that and it was still way more than I could eat and I ended up taking half to go. It was definitely one of the best chicken fried steaks I had ever had. The service at The Barn is wonderful and the decor is farm chic. I got here around 11:30 and I was the first customer in for lunch. By the time I left the place was packed. Even if you don’t like chicken fried steak, their menu is packed with comfort food favorites.

Lowell, a Kansas farmer, took us to The Barn. Jason and Lowell ordered The Bowl, a specialty. It included nugget size pieces of crispy chicken fried steak in the mashed potatoes and corn. Busy and popular place. Fun. Unique atmosphere. We had a good time drinking beer. Service was fast and friendly. Grain bin is the bar. We liked our experience.

This was our first time there. Our waitress Amanda was very friendly. I ordered the ribeye, my wife the strip steak, my mother in law the chicken fried steak. All were cooked to perfection, and delicious. We will definitely be going back to try the rest of menu.

We’ve been going the The Barn for years. We went about a month ago and while our server and food was great, we had to wait a long time for our food. Went back recently with a party of 6. All 3 people who ordered chicken fried steak were served burnt steaks- you could see the black around the edges. When it was brought to the managers attention she did not apologize- she stated “chicken fried steaks would either be pink in the middle or over done around the edges”. Again, we have ordered a number of chicken fried steaks from The Barn and never served burnt steaks. It was pretty obvious they had served us double fried steaks causing the charcoal flavor/over cooked steaks, yet they refused to acknowledge the kitchen put out inedible food.

Great place if your not in a big hurry as noon is pretty busy. But it's worth the wait and service after we got seated was good . Prices are fair a slight higher then I figured but well worth it. A neat place to try. I'll be back but not at noon rush.Parking: Do not go during noon rush or parking is hard to find. Otherwise this place is a nice place and friendly people. Enjoyed the time there.

The barn was so rusticky creative one of the coolest looking restaurants I've ever seen. I would love to open up one in California just like it. The food was really good my chicken fried steak was ridiculously huge not my favorite, (I'm not a big fan of deep fried chicken fried steak) but it was pretty good though. Great homemade mashed potatoes, onion rings, spicy pepper jack bites pie and pie crust.
