Good salad, cold and crisp got the raspberry vinaigrette, had the pastrami rueben, excellent sandwich the pastrami was tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly, for dessert the strawberry pie, made from scratch with a flaky crust probably one of the best strawberry pies I’ve had, service was great and some of the most friendly people made it a nice experience.

Great Decor, very helpful, kind and efficient staff. Clean. Ample seating in both lounge and larger room. Ordered their "Classic Italian Meal" on the menu with noodle pasta, 1 Italian sausage and 5 meat balls in a meat sauce at $11.99; pasta overcooked, meats had no taste of olive oil, no taste of garlic, no basil nor oregano added as is typically part of true Italian meat sauce and meats. Salad was good, except usage of Balsamic vinegar with the oil made the dressing too tart. Atmosphere saved me and took the meal home to toss. I would check out their "broasted" chicken and cat fish on the menu. It's worth my going back to try these other 2 menu items or others. My Italian meal was on 8-4-2022. Mgb.Parking: Ample parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled Parking, but not Disabled Access Entry.

We stopped in for lunch and had a great time. The restaurant is historic with lots of memorabilia on the walls. The service was friendly and fast. We tried the shrimp, catfish, lasagna, spaghetti, and hamburger. They were all delicious. The entrees all came with vegetable, potatoes, and a salad or soup. It was good prices, plenty of seating and parking. It's near the river and in downtown close to the shopping.

Got chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy togo. Drove home and went to plate it up black hair in the gravy..... started in on the chicken and it was dry and absolutely terrible smelled off. So I paid $26 to throw it all away. I let them know and was offered credit....Im sorry but I don't have an appetite to eat somewhere that I had that terrible of an experience at.

We went to a wake for a friend, too crowded, couldn't get to the food, no lace to sit. I remember them when I was a young man. Great food then.

Food was excellent! The service was beyond courteous and extremely friendly. Beacon wrapped filet was perfect, cut like butter and melt in your mouth; no sauces needs as the seasoned flavor was spot on. Twice baked potato was just the right size to complement. Onion rings for an apitizer was more that I expected, large thick rings in a just right breadcrumb batter.

We were traveling through Abeliene, KS to see the Sallie House. Decided to have lunch at a local establishment in a nice little town. This place has history and has a lot of potential. I think it does need some revamping. It's confusing which door to go in because it has a lounge and restaurant. It's pretty dark inside. Our server was a little slow and was managing 3-4 tables. She could have been new. She was very polite. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which usually comes with marinara. We had to request it after it was brought out. Which was a little soupy. I ordered the cheeseburger meal and it says upon request for lettuce, tomato, pickles, ect. I ordered it with pickles. And I ordered the substitute for chips as a salad with ranch.I was given a salad with ranch. But when the food arrived there were chips, and a pickle spear. No pickles on the burger just cheese. Before we could ask for ketchup and mustard the waitress was gone. We waited again to eat because we were waiting to request something that should have been offered. The food was okay. No signature items and nothing offered as the specials. I hope some improvements can be made and it would be a nice local restaurant to return to. As of now it was just okay.Features: None

My wife and I have visited here a couple times. The folks tell you to sit anywhere. We had a couple decent experiences and most recently, we had nothing but issues. 6/11 we came in and were treated as an afterthought/inconvenience. We gave the benefit of doubt and visited on 6/17. We were seated in the middle room. We had to get the attention of the waitress to get our drinks and food order. There were younger kids working and talking about various life drama really loudly. One of the kids splashed my wife with water and another spilled syrup on me which ruined my shirt. We are not ones to usually complain but our food was wrong and the fact no one apologized for spilling made us feel unimportant. We went to pay and the lady took off our drinks but no apology. My wife and I decided to give this place one more try on 6/27. We walked in and were told to have a seat anywhere. We sat in the third area over for 10 minutes. My wife had to get the attention of a waitress yet again. A young man came and got our drink order. A couple of older ladies came to sit next to us. Needless to say the waitress, that had to be reminded by my wife came and took the order of the two older ladies and still ignored us. We will just drive the few extra miles to Topeka. We live roughly 30 miles from here and have very little choice of places to eat. If you like being ignored, stuff thrown on you and food made incorrectly well then you will be right at home.

We were seated and waited over 20 min for someone to even acknowledge us. 5 different people walked by us. A table came in after us and had their drinks on the table. It wasn’t our server but she took our drink order. When I asked her about red wine options she had no idea what types they had. Our server finally comes over and we order. We wait an hour for our food to arrive. We had order Alfredo, pasta and sauce, and 2 chicken Parms. Everything but the chicken should have been made. Our pasta was overcooked and barely any sauce on the chicken parm.

Fantastic experience 👏 for our only dinner here in atchison, on a little getaway from kc. You will be amazed at the good vibe and all tastes of extra care. If I lived here it would be a weekly treat for sure. The "KC cream pie" is fantastic- don't miss this unique treat! -- I wanted add pictures of my gorgeous pasta but can't figure it out

Visiting from out of town to view the college and ate dinner here, and then breakfast the next day. Dinner was lackluster and tasted kind of like canned spaghetti and the service was okay at best. You're probably asking, why did you go back the next day for breakfast if dinner wasn't good; well, there was nothing else in the entire town open the next morning. However, the breakfast experience was completely different. The coffee was great, the service was great, and the food was standard, but cooked well. You can't beat the prices either. Would I go back? Yes. Do I hate it, also Yes.

This time, it was a Monday, just after 5P.M. Not busy at all, perfect for a bunch of darts, beer, and friends (not necessarily in that order).Parking: Several spots to park diagonal street parking just outside of the dnner/bar, plus across street. Additional parking south parking lot and east of building.Wheelchair accessibility: Bar does not have wheelchair accessibility that I know of.

A long time local favorite. Generous portion size, food and service good. Not the fastest service, we waited 35 minutes for our food from the time it was ordered. Prices are very reasonable.

Had a ham and cheese omelette with mushrooms & tomatoes with hash browns and a biscuit. They do have a Sunday buffet, but I chose from the menu. Buffet looks small so I felt I made the right choice. Really good omelette. Restroom is fairly simple but clean. Parking is easy to get into, especially when on the street diagonal parking is full.

I was very dissatisfied with this place. First of all the Italian food is not authentic, I had a meatball sub, with a little tiny bit of spaghetti and onion rings. The meatballs were cold and old I believe the cook just heated them a little, but I could tell they were not fresh meatballs. The only thing that was fresh the onion rings. I'm glad I didn't order dessert. I know this is not worth a second trip.

I love the lounge.Great service. Good food.Only con is it takes only 1 loudmouth to make the atmosphere suck.We visit every year for my bday.Just returned 10/26/2023, and they were busy as hell.Only the bartender.Yes, service is slow. Busy as hell.Dude worked his tail off.I admire that, and give tremendous patience in-kind.Ultimately, had a great time.
