My hubbynhas been wanting to eat here for a while now. Decided to drop in on a Tuesday afternoon so he could get the Mountain Oysters. Got seated quickly and order was taken within minutes. They had a few customers but definitely we hit it at a good time.We order fried mushrooms for an appetizer. My husband got the Mountain Oysters with fries and was one of the specials for Tuesday. I ordered the Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich.Food came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh. Got our drinks refilled frequently and enjoyed our meal.A little hole in the wall in Altamont Kansas and was worth our stopping in.Hubby loved his Oysters, he gave them a second best he's ever had. My Chicken Sandwich was excellent. Large portions, cooked well and very flavorful.

Great server. Yummy fries, but had to use fork as most pieces were to small to pick up. Hamburgers very large but frozen and chewy. Like someone else said, felt boiled. No indication it was grilled at all. Only bottom bun barely toasted. They do bring out all the liquid condiments you could want including ranch, which a appreciate. Didn't get onions but had already returned flat Pepsi so didn't really want to complain too much. About $10 per burger and fry combo.Parking: Had room for vehicles with trailers too

Easy to find, get into and out of. Business is clean, staff is courteous and knows the menu. Food is good, portions are large and they also have desserts. They offer their food to go and you can call in your orders. Service was good and the wait was not to long. Fries are natural cut, ours were a little overcooked, still good though. One of the few burger places where the burger looked great when brought out. Worth stopping in.

Need a hometown burger? Drop into MJs. The burgers are thick, the fries homemade, and exceptional variety for the fixings and sides. I swear the burgers were close to an inch thick with just meat. A little on the pricey side. Had 8 fried mushrooms for $6. Another friend had the same with a strong handful more. May have just been a hiccup because they were busy. Burger price was spot on. I would definitely stop in here again.

The prices listed on the website are much cheaper than at the restaurant. 8 mushrooms were $8.59! A patty melt and Philly burger w almost no meat on top were $18.58, and a half order of fries were $3.00! The patties were a frozen meat, the mushrooms and fries were cold and geasy, they told me a 20 minute wait, I was there in 15, imagine if I showed up 5 minutes later! Lettuce and tomato were as limp as possible! For the $31.87 I paid ,I could have bought rib eyes for less money, and the quality would not ever be in question!Kid-friendliness: The cashier was very pleasant.

The burgers were fantastic, delicious beef, grilled bun and fresh tomato! We had fried pickels with Ranch, yummy! The service was great too, friendly and polite.Monday specials are the best! Chicken fried steak and hot hamburgers with mashed potatoes and gravy.... Delicious!

My husband got the Hickory Burger and I got the Barnyard Burger. These burgers were massive and absolutely delicious! The buns were toasted to a nice buttery crispness which added a lot of flavor and texture. The barbecue sauce on the hickory burger was a perfect mix of sweetness & tanginess and the homemade onion rings were a nice addition to top it off. The Barnyard consists of meat from everything you'd find around a barn - a giant juicy beef burger, crisp strips of bacon, thin slices of salty ham, a crunchy onion ring with a runny-yolk egg in the center, all topped off with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. This burger was layered with so many different flavors and the melted cheese helped it all meld together. As if the delicious burgers weren't enough, MJ's home cut fries and fried pickle chips were perfectly fried and wonderfully complimented the burgers. Expect to pay a little extra for the burgers, but they are definitely worth it for their size and tastiness!

The hamburgers are nice and big. Order ahead if you want to cut down on the wait time. Ask them to mark the contents on the container if ordering take-out, was not done on my last order and it was not good. The cost to feed a family can be a bit much.Attention: A 3% charge is added when using a credit/debit card.

Our family of 5 tried MJs tonight! We were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious, just as we ordered, and huge! We tried the fries, sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip, 4 different burgers, grilled cheese, okra, and corn nuggets! We are stuffed!!! Our waitress was friendly and fast. It has an old school diner feel and prices are great for the amount of delicious food you get! We will for sure be back to MJs!

I give this Delicious savory Cheeseburger with mayo and all the veggies 5 stars 🌟 most definitely a mouthful. I could only eat half of it, which by the way I wanted it all. 2 people could eat off this jumbo size burger. It was a call in order, the drive through window service was excellent 👌 I ordered a large DP, CB, if I had ordered anything with this, I would have wasted it! 😊❤🍔🥤FOR A MOUTH WATERING CHEESEBURGER GO TO "MJs"!

My husband is from Coffeyville, KS. He had seen good reviews for MJ's on Facebook, so during our trip back for Summer Celebration, we took the out of the way trip to Altamont to try it for ourselves. So, so glad we did! Delicious! Our waitress, Britney, made sure we ordered exactly to our appetites and take our hats off to the Cook! We will definitely make another out of the way trip back to MJ's!

Okay, this little place is absolutely a gem. Best bacon cheeseburger I have ever had. If you like the old school diner type of burgers with hand cut French fries and portions large enough to feed you twice, make the trip here. These are half pound burgers folks! If you leave this little place hungry its your own fault.

The food is done well with a healthy portion. The burgers are a single 1/2 lb compared to fastfood or other restaurants; a knife & fork are suggested. The prices are per item and are in the same range as other restaurant's combos.

Food was really good my parents had the mushroom and Swiss burger and regular cheeseburger and they loved it my mom had the fried mushrooms and she loved it my dad had the onion rings and they came out perfect very tender and delicious, I ordered the chicken strips with homestyle fries and tater tots I loved it I love everything about this restaurant the only thing that I did not like would have to be their ranch but other than that the food was excellent better than anything I’ve had.
