This place is a disaster. I wish I could be nicer about it. It has cute toys and some fun local things and baked goods and I wanted them to succeed. But they have the worst supply chain issues I’ve ever seen. The candy bins are mostly empty, the deli has shut down probably forever, and the chocolates case is usually closed too. They never had the free ice cream they have a huge banner for (I think they did once or twice but never when I’ve been in). This store has a lot of good ideas poorly executed and it makes me sad. Ben Franklin was much less cute but at least it functioned properly.

Only the second day that they were open but so far initial impressions are that I like the open layout of the store, excited to see the deli portion once it is fully up and operational. This store seems to carry quality items, they have cast iron cookware and Rada knives. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff as well.

🍦🍿🍬🍭Bulk items - candy, dips, seasonings, snack mixes, toys, candles. Free ice cream cones and popcorn everyday. Deli and Pipers candy counter not open yet. Would of given 5 stars if Pipers candies were available. Drove 60 miles.

Large variety of toys, puzzles, dry goods, candies, kitchen items, bread, cookies, quilts. A lovely store. Great deals. We will be back again! Unique items you would not see other places. 🙂

Don't know what happened to this Dutch Country. Store has been understocked for months now. Deli is closed, no ice cream. It's like they stopped stocking it and are waiting to run out of what's there. Dip and soup mixes gone. Specialty flours gone. Baking items gone. 1/2 the candy bins empty. No summer sausage. No point going in. My friend says one by her is great. It's weird 😕

Drove from Ankeny just to shop here. Super disappointing. Bins and shelves empty. Deli section closed. I had high hopes this would be a fun place to shop just wasn't the case. It's almost like they are ready to close up. Too bad...as it seemed like a great town to put this kinda store in.

Drove over an hour to shop - love the store by Bloomfield. Wanted to buy a large amount of taffy and hard candies and lunch meat. Bins for candies and taffy were basically empty and very small selection of meats. Lots of empty spaces and poor selection of other items. Very disappointed. Store is nice and staff were wonderful. If your going for something specific call and make sure they have it.

Update 7/11/23; Please allow me to update this review to five stars. Levi Good, the CEO, reached out and personally delivered our table and very graciously apologized for the delays and communication issues. The new store they are opening in Winterset, IA is a welcome addition to our retail community. Thank you Levi, Erica, and everyone at Dutch Country General Store.We are extremely frustrated with Dutch Country General Store. We placed an order for an Amish built poly table and paid $967 in February 2023 for delivery in 4 to 6 weeks. It is now July and we have been ghosted by customer service and the CEO, Levi Good. The one time I received a return call, Good promised we would have our table by the end of June and now they won't respond. We understand delays, but broken promises and lies are not acceptable. We are trying to get an acknowledgement for our order cancellation and refund, but apparently not responding is part of their strategy. We never dreamed we'd have problems like this.
