It was my first time visiting The Trendy Gardener today. My first impression was WOW! If you are a plant lover, you would appreciate how the owner transformed his plant store into something heavenly! It’s amazing!I met Hunter (the owner) today as well and asked some questions about fertilizers, caring for plants, etc. and he’s generous in sharing his knowledge about caring his plants. I’ll definitely go back to the store again to add more plants in my collection.

Our new favorite plant store!!! We found some really interesting species and Hunter walked us through all of the care tips we needed! Cool plants, cool pots and really interesting vignettes (picture a bathtub pot with string of pearls inside like bubbles)!My favorite purchase was this crocodile fern!

Best selection of houseplants in the metro, including a bunch rare plants I haven’t seen anywhere else. The owner was super knowledgeable - he answered all my questions and gave some great design advice. He even helped me pick out an office plant that would do well in the terrible lighting!

Great little plant shop next door to Eggs + Jam. (Perfect stop before or after brunch!) Cozy atmosphere with a beautifully curated collection of unique house plants. I love plants, though I definitely do NOT have a green thumb so I’m always looking for plants that are easy to care for. Hunter is a very caring, helpful and knowledgeable owner who made me feel welcome the moment I walked in. I’ll be returning for sure!

Have bought several philodendrons from Trendy Gardener; they have the widest selection in the Des Moines area, and cater to the biggest location of customer. Great tips on growing, no gimmicks - all plants, and rotates plants for a wider selection and variety. Will continue to be a repeat customer.

Hunter with the Trendy Gardener came in clutch (like 88'-89' Michael Jordan) his service was unmatched. I searched around all over Eastern Iowa looking for some plant I could barely pronounce (Spiritus Sancti) for my wife's birthday. I'm not a plant guy myself but Hunter took great care of me with finding what the Miss's wanted. When we came to pick it up (complete surprise to my wife) I felt like THE MAN because she had no idea I was getting it for her. Shes in love with this plant and taking great care of her "little green baby". We will definitely go to The Trendy Gardener again!

Returning to the store to purchase a bigger 2nd bottle of the Damn bug spray after purchasing a small bottle in January. Very happy with the results. So happy I can make purchases online for shipping, as I live in Georgia. I will definitely keep this amazing spray on hand. It works, plus it smells good. Definitely recommend stopping by the store for any, and all of your plant needs. Hunter is very helpful with any questions you may have.

Are you tired of hunting all the local plant stores hoping to find something that makes you stop and say "I need this"?? Look no further than The Trendy Gardner!!!! Absolutely astonishing selection and completely reasonable prices. I love the others y'all are great but no one will ever top the amazing variety of beautiful plants here. The owner is great, he is so friendly and willing to answer my hundred questions. I spent a hour in there just looking and talking. He has such great plans for the shop and classes he hopes to do. I am super excited. Oh and the crazy cute pots that are for sale.....he makes and hopes to start teaching us to. I am going to be signing up for that for sure!Y'all seriously I should have taken photos bc I am not doing the quality and beauty of the selection here justice. Just imagine that one store you go to knowing you'll always find something to like. This is that and plants you didn't even know you wanted.Please stop in and support this local business we have nothing like it!!!!!

Had some questions about plants and wanted to talk to a local person who was an expert. Found the shop and the staff was super friendly. They also helped me with a fungus nat issue I was dealing with. I have pets and their products fixed the gnats and didn't hurt my pups. Also the treatment is all natural and smells great and makes the house smell great too.

I recently purchased the Damn Bug! Organic Pesticide to help with a mealybug infestation I was dealing with. Not only did the shop owner help me identify the problem on a plant that I did not purchase at his shop, but he gave me advice on how to solve the problem. I have never seen anything work better to resolve an insect problem faster than this stuff did. Not only did it work in 1 use, but they offer a discount on your next pesticide purchase if you bring your empty bottle into the store. 10/10 on products and customer service. This is now my plant shop of choice in town.

I visited the showroom last night and immediately fell in love! I love plants, however, I am not the best at keeping them alive. Hunter gave us a tour of the business, showed the different plants he had been growing (the carnivorous pitcher plants were the coolest), and then helped me figure out which plants would work the best in my home and with my (not so) green thumb. I can’t wait to hear back and grow my collection!

I loved the vibes of this place! The plants were all beautiful and taken care of. Highly recommend going here! Found plants there that I'd never find at Lowes or any local plant shops. I would give 10 stars if I could!Edit from the last review: I also ordered a couple more plants online after buying some from the showroom and Hunter gave EXCELLENT customer service! He was very attentive to any questions/comments/concerns. I just received my last plant from my online order, they are BEAUTIFUL! I was worried with the midwest being so cold how the plants would hold up. But the packaging was perfect for the cold weather. Definitely will be buying all of my plants from The Trendy Gardener moving forward!
