While they claim customer service is their first priority, that has not been my experience. Instead of resending my order, they’re ’researching’ what could’ve happened. That information only helps them, meanwhile, I’m still without my order. Scheels card holder and valued customer huh? Doesn’t feel like it.

Love this store! So much variety. Love the arcade, mini bowling and batting cage to test out the bats. All employees very well educated on the products they are selling. Plus, super friendly! Must stop when at or around Jordan Creek Mall.

Wow - Great customer service. I had placed an online order for store pickup and it seemed to have been lost. I called the store and spoke to Zach who did an excellent job of making things right. A huge Thank You to Zach and the young lady that worked with him on the issue!

I always drop in here when I come in from out of town. It has the best selection of local sports teams and you can choose the quality level you want to purchase. You can get almost anything you can think of here. One observation, they did not have the latest Garmin's that were released the previous week. Likely it may take some time to get the latest and greatest.

Most items are higher priced than I would expect. It is a giant huge store and the upstairs portion is for guns and ammo. However, they only carry approximately 6 or 7 brands of handguns and their inventory of used handguns are priced as new guns. I did purchase some ammunition and their price on shotgun shells were competitive although still a bit higher than I normally pay. Still a nice shopping experience especially due to the sheer size of the store.

I went out to the Jordan Creek store today to get some mounts for my GoPro camera, very good customer service. Salesman could not find the mounts in the store. He went to the back room and got them for me.I am very pleased with the service. I really like the statues in front of the store also!

Lots of staff talking to each other, stood in one area for 20 mins only to see staff talking to teens in gun area and not offering assistance. Not sure I will be spending money here if no acknowledgement by staff. Very disappointed. I was looking at $500-700 items, but no assistance to open the cases. Oh well, Scheels you lose.

They always have everything I want. Plenty of NFL gear, (All sports really). Very stylish outdoor gear for men and women. Great shoe selection, sporting and casual. Tons of hunting and fishing gear TONS! It's a great place to walk around and shop. Very helpful staff and management.

Olivia in ladies Outerwear is hands down the absolute BEST Associate in any retail store I have shopped! She went above and beyond to assist me in finding the perfect fitted coat.She was patient and showed an overwhelming amount of interest in helping me shop. While helping me she asked another customer if she could assist her!

This only has to do with their gun sale policy. When you're on delay the feds allow dealers to turn a gun over after 3 days.I don't mind waiting 3 days it's no big deal. However Scheels will wait for an approval and so far it's been 30 days and now I have to start a new application and who knows how long it's going to take. Wrong place to buy a gun!I just read the response where they say 99% of places will make you wait the full 30 days and then make you reapply. So just for fun I called 10 places two of them would wait 30 days. One of the reasons they told me they waited the 30 days is they were afraid that one of their sales people might get hurt when they go to repossess a gun. What a bunch of bull everybody knows you don't send the salesperson for that!

I was in the women's shoe section specifically shopping for Brooks running shoes on 2/22/2024 and Ann was extremely rude and didn't want to help me find my size and then she reluctantly but rudely helped. She was also condescending and asked "Are you SURE you didn't buy your size in the MEN'S SECTION." I said "I'm 100% sure I bought them in the women's section." Then when she DID find my size, she tried covering up her lack if knowledge by saying "Well it's RARE but we found your size!" I highly recommend buying your Brooks running shoes online or elsewhere. This Scheels shoe section is awful because of Ann.

Had a bad experience with an online order, was not available for pickup after the confirmation email was sent. Was told that they were overwhelmed with orders, that's okay. Asked for a refund since they didn't have the two items I ordered, and am still waiting on the refund for one of the items. They told me they cannot give receipts but assured me this exact thing would not happen. They printed me some random message info instead. Pretty sad I had limited time to shop and this took a lot of wasted time, still isn't resolved, and I am missing two Christmas gifts for people. This was purchased on 12/17 so one week ago not today.

My first time there, I got a great deal on a shotgun (Savage 12 Gauge for $215). My second time, I got an amazing deal on a used Canik Mete Sfx Pro ($350, goes for $700 new) - better than anything I've seen at the gun shows in Des Moines. This last time, they had a Shadow Systems DR920L on sale. I had brought my Glock 17 Gen 4 to trade, expecting to totally get low balled. They gave me more than I expected, which led me to get something different than what I intended. Do I kick myself a little? Yes, but it's my fault. Now I have a bunch of Glock mags, but no Glock.Also, the candy store is phenomenal.

Kool place to come and just kill time, they have so much to see and yes probably buy too. You could easily spend a couple of hours just walking around and just looking around. I’ve never been to a two story sporting good store, everyone was so helpful and I appreciated that even though I didn’t buy anything ( trust me it was hard not buying anything). Thanks

For a chain store Scheels is top notch. It's not the local business I prefer but is a preferred option to fill the gap where local shops can't.EditOk, not a chain store. But to even kind of imply you don't have huge buying power over local stores and that you aren't given unfair advantage over local stores is insane. And for darn sure I haven't been checked out by the same person twice in a row in a decade...so don't pretend to be a small community business. Your reply cost you 3 stars and a customer.

The gun department has really gone downhill. They are rude and condescending. I will continue to visit Cedar Falls and Iowa City Scheels as they treat you fair and honest. This place is a total disappointment.

Lots of staff on the sales floor, but nobody seemed to want to move from there spot to ask if i needed help, which i did. Walking between departments, i heard what looked like a manager talking to another employee making fun of a customer they thought was rude.I hate shopping online for shoes, but cant find a store in des moines with sales people who want to help customers.Iowa attitude is exhausting, and not at all nice.
