When you shop at Costco, you get used to certain things. The sundaes are $2.49, the water is in the same place. The cold produce is right next to the dairy - and so on. Of the half a dozen stores we've been to all are the same. This Costco is not laid out as the others. Which makes it a bit more challenging to shop. They have a lot more pallets out in the aisles. Less staff means they're not really able to give any quality customer service. They generally seem oblivious to the customers in general. You can make your way around. It's four stars for having the same quality of products. The service is why it's not a five. That and they were out of stock for sundaes.

This is a horribly inefficient store. I went here on a Thursday evening. There were 3 workers at the doors (1 checking costco cards as you enter, 2 checking receipts as you leave - which amounts to them staring at your cart for 10 seconds pretending to compare it to the receipt, then drawing a line on your receipt with a highlighter).At the front of the store there were 2 more workers (managers?) standing around a podium. Finally there were 2 workers at the register. The lines were absurd as most of the registers were closed. Of the 7 people working at the front of the store only 2 were on a register actually helping customers.Again this was a Thursday evening, if you go here on weekends be prepared for the situation to be even worse. The management here does not care how long the lines are, their reply when I complained about it to them was "I wouldn't come in on the weekends".

I enjoy shopping at Costco. The store has good deals and excellent selection of products. Make sure to check the produce because sometimes they are moldy. The store can be busy at times and the parking can be hectic.What annoys me the most about this location is the customers are so rude. They just stand in the way, never move their carts, hardly look both ways when walking, and almost run you over. The aisles are narrow which makes the store congested. The parking lot is just as bad, people not looking both ways and cutting through.The gas lines can also be long. When pumps are free they don't move up.

Really disappointed in our experience today. The check out Gal was extremely rude! My daughter and I picked out pots of flowers (on a whim), while shopping for zip-locs in the back of the store. No signage, just rolling racks of flowers.We stood in a check-out line that reached the meat section, only to find out we needed a third pot of flowers, to purchase the two we had. The woman ringing us up and the man helping her, both rude AS HELL! I was told that I shouldn't have unloaded my cart on the belt, b/c now they'd have to lift items more than 15lbs. OMG REALLY?!? I WAS TRYING TO HELP!This was a reminder to me on how Sam's still has you beat on some of the simple things... Curbside pick-up, line control, and now employee attitudes.

Customer service is always phenomenal. The kids love when employees draw them something on the receipt even if our 4 year old requests something elaborate like a dragon. Rod is the best, protect him at all costs!

Hands down this is one of my favorite Costco locations to shop at. It has a great layout and offers a wide array of products at competitive prices. The spacious warehouse layout allows for easy navigation and ample room to maneuver even with the large carts. The food selection isn't quite as diverse as larger city Cost o locations but they do get a considerable amount of one off items more frequently than other stores. With its convenient location and diverse selection of merchandise, Costco in West Des Moines provides a convenient and budget-friendly shopping experience.

Great location! Weekends are busy but it’s very quiet during weekday mornings and 1 hour before close most weeknights. Always have everything I usually get in stock.

First time going to Cosco and at checkout I ask how to get my membership. The lady was super rude and just pointed where to go and walked away..then every stand with samples, the employees were rude as well. We got bakery goods and no where did to say buy 2 and you can’t buy just one baked goods!! Like who forces a customer to buy 2 when we don’t need 2 bakery goods is just 2 of us! When you are scanning they are right on top of you like it feels awkward and uncomfortable the way we were treated. The parking was awful experience as well. Don’t come here. I should have stayed at Sam’s !

My all time favorite shopping 🛍 place. I am addicted on Costco 😁 every week I must go and buy something. Good quality products and cheaper prices compared with other stores. I use to buy milk and brown sugar here. They have fresh vegetables, meats, fishes and sausages. Collections of t shirts are here for springand summer. They are high quality and low prices.

Tire service seems convenient, shop while they service. But it wasn’t that convenient when they impacted two lug nuts. Luckily Goodyear found it and I didn’t get stuck out somewhere with a flat. Had to have two bolts replaced. That was the end of my Costco days. Glad others enjoy though, just be cautious on tire service.

Workers were nice and cool but, it was super crowded with boxes, crates, people, etc. all the advent calendars were broken. All of the squishmellows were super cool and cute. The parking is super hard to find a parking spot everyone is in the way people were in the way. Overall it was an alright experience it could be better but it wasn’t terrible.

Always had great things to say about this location but the past few months the chickens have been very dry and lacking the juicy flavor they used to have. I’d say the last 6-7 chickens over a 5 month period. Not sure what they’ve changed. For years never got a bad one.3/13/24 update: chicken still dry and no good.

Twice on newer vehicles a TPMS sensor randomly fails according to Costco technician's after tire rotation and the dealer said it is not a problem and reset them. Sales pitch is to replace all five on a car 6 year old with less than 50k. Plus if you visit the nitrogen fill stations, because you have nitrogen tires you’d think you’re getting a great service. Truth is though there are two sewer’s over by the stations that often smell so heavily of sewage that you can’t put air in your tires because it’s so foul. Not impressed at all with this location and will not use nor recommend them for tire service.

Costco fuel pumps most always have lines but are generally the cheapest source in town. The store tends to be busy as well. Some products have good prices, some are of higher quality and may be worth higher prices, and some are more expensive than in other stores.Most employees are friendly. One observation: If you're a minority and the person at the entrance is white, expect to be asked to show your membership card to be allowed inside.

I love this store! I stock up about every two to three weeks. Everyone who works there is kind, the prices are great, and the atmosphere is very nice.

Incredibly frustrated! DO NOT BUY/SERVICE your TIRES here!!! They will accuse you of being vandalized after they install your tires wrong. You’ll be treated condescendingly from there on out, they’ll stall getting you in for weeks until you are past 30 days and then wash their hands of you. SHAME ON YOU ALEX!!!

I hadn't been into a Costco in years. My sister is a member and she came to visit from Minnesota with my brother in-law, niece, and parents. They love buying dog food, peanut butter, toilet paper, ravioli, and laundry detergent amongst many other things. It's perfect for their needs. The store was packed on a Sunday afternoon. I think the layout is a little confusing but they have great selection and samples. I get a little anxious being in there but it's a fun place to go to every once in a while.

The store is nice and very good and so is the food court, but I don't like how there isn't multiple options for some food choices like fish and fruits. Also, they didn't sell some things I was looking for.

Love, Love, LOVE... Costco. EVERYTHING I need is there. Steaks are pricy, but the variety is amazing. We only buy our fish, chicken and Prime Rib there. Affordable for the Working Class family. I have to be very careful because I have spent a lot $$$$ of money not paying full attention to what I was putting in the cart. Hope this helps someone!!! ✌️

My first time visiting a Costco store and it was very clean and brightly lit. They had a wide variety of items to choose from in bulk making it cheaper overall to purchase for our large family here. I could have wondered around this store for days in awe of all the almost comically large items but I loved it. I left wanting to return here for every shopping trip but unfortunately there's not a location very close to where I actually live yet. I would recommend if you can shop here, to shop here indefinitely! I loved visiting here!

This is my favorite Costco. They’ve retained some fantastic employees who remind you you’re part of the local community.Returns are quick and they make it easy. The store is always cleaned and organized.My wife and I often go to Costco to get away from the hustle and bustle of the day. I grab a mocha freeze on May way in. We peruse the aisles gleefully in a meandering pattern. There’s no worries at this Costco. Just the serendipitous bliss of interesting items that may or may not improve my standard of living.Say hi to Rod for me. He’s pretty much a treasure of this Costco and should be retained at any cost.
