We absolutely loved our visit to Coffee Cats, and are so grateful to have a cat cafe in Des Moines! Coffee Cats is a delightful fusion of a coffee shop and a cat lover's haven. Partnering with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, they provide a unique experience of enjoying delicious beverages and food while spending quality time with cats up for adoption. The cafe's warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and the joy of interacting with furry friends make it a must-visit. Five stars for Coffee Cats! We can't wait for our next visitš¾ā

Love cats? Love coffee? Art? Look no further for your heaven! Yoga with cats a couple times a week, come to hang out with cats, drink excellent lattes, have a pastry (gluten-free available), grab some grab and go lunch items and hang out! The vibes are good, authentic, and fun. There are tons of original art items for sale too!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

We adopted our sweet boy here a few months ago but have been coming here for over a year. Amazing staff, delicious coffee, and the cutest cats. The owner is very kind and has let us give the cats treats on occasion. They also have a wide variety of cat treats and toys for cats you have at home. 10/10 recommend if you love cats/ and or coffee.

My daughter had dreams to go here and spend the day with cats, she got an hour š the space is set up well and really cute! We had some people who chased the cats away too much at first, but once they left and it was quiet, the cats came out to play. Affordable and several cute (cat) items you can purchase-- as well as coffee of course! Wish we had one closer to home.

What a wonderful place! Thank you so much for allowing children to be with the cats! Unfortunately, we are unable to have a cat in our home due to allergies, but I have a 4-year-old that absolutely loves cats and was so sad when we finally told him that we wouldn't be able to have one in our house. We found you all when we googled a place to go see cats & spend time with them!We came to your shop for the first time tonight, and it was so much fun. My husband and I enjoyed a drink. Our two children absolutely loved their time with the cats. We read the rules (posted on the wall) to our children before we started, and it was an excellent way to practice being gentle and calm around a pet. They did so well. My 2-year-old even squealed at one point with delight (and excitement!), so I'm sorry if we spooked the employee! The kids did really well and it was just such fun family time together. It will definitely be a core memory for our kids. We really appreciate it. ā„ļø

We came here from an hour and a half away to celebrate a very special cat lover's birthday and it was totally worth it. While we waited for our reserved time to begin in the lounge area, we treated ourselves to fruit smoothies -- which were delicious. This is such a well kept and comfy place to spend an afternoon. The staff were all very friendly too! Highly recommended.

Such a great place for coffee and cute kitties! Made a reservation online, but they also take walk ins. All the cats were so cute and sweet, and the staff were amazing! It smelled clean, and everything was sanitized between groups. The cats are well cared for, and available to adopt! Would definitely recommend this place to any animal lover.

Grab a cup of coffee and watch the cats through a window in the other room. You can pay a small fee to spend time in the lounge WITH the cats too! Great set up if youāve got folks with allergies or aversion to cats, you can still come in and enjoy drinks and snacks. Mostly grab and go style food and pastry options, but plenty of options, including dietary considerations. AND the coffee is great too! Oh and they are set up through the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and all the cats are adoptable! ā¤ļøVegetarian options: To-go cooler with New World Kitchen (vegan) options.Kid-friendliness: For kids who are well behaved with cats.

This was my first time at a cat cafe and as someone who has always had a lukewarm relationship with cats, it was pretty awesome. They do have a nice selection of coffee and some generic pastries. The star of the show however, is of course the cats. You pay to spend an amount of the time sitting in with the cats. You can play or pet with them or just sit an watch. Overall I had a great time and Iām sure weāll be back.

What a neat idea. As a cat lover, this really excited me!Made an appointment for an hour long session with the cats. I must have chose a popular time as there were a dozen other people crammed in there. Hard to see the cats, let alone pet or decide if adoption was viable.I had a 'Lavenfur' drink which was an iced mocha with lavender. Very good! $4 for a small which was plenty big enough for me. Punch tickets available to get your 10th drink free.Next time I will try for an oddball time of day and hope to have a better chance of meeting the cats.

Who doesnāt love coffee and cats? Especially the one with the screwed up ear. They were all sleeping so none of them wanted to cuddle with me. Which can you blame them? Everyone snuggles them all week long. They deserve a day off too. PSA: If you are allergic then Iām sorry. Take an antihistamine. Also if you just donāt like cats then who are you as a person. Also they take AMEX. But seriously if you donāt like cats bye boy.

To be in the cat room you have to request a time or be a lucky for the room to be empty. The cats are all so god damn sweet, and so are the employees! Coffee was good as well. Only reason I didn't put a full 5 stars is cause there could be a limit on how many ppl can be in the cat room. Part of our paid hour was kinda just sitting there waiting cause either cats were with other ppl, or just sleep/hiding.

Cute little Coffee Shop with Cats to play with! Cat Room costs $10 an hour. Reservations are recommended as they only allow 2 walk ins per hour I believe. Some cats are very friendly and others are scared. Great place to get to know them if you want to adopt. They have little cat cookies, some sweets, and drinks. Animals are from the ARL and can be adopted.

Loved the cats. It was soo relaxing to be in the midst of those cattos UNTIL some obnoxious kids showed up. They were yelling/freaking out the cats and me! They woke the cats up that wanted to sleep, yanked the cats off the bed, force-picked up cats wearing mittens. I think owners should keep children out or at least keep an eye of children, because some parents are irresponsible and/or lazy.

Large breve was 5.35 and better than the usual $7 equivalent. They adopt the kitties here and take care of them, and you pay a tiny fee to go hang out with them while drinking high quality affordable coffee āļø.Little over $2.00 for 15 minutes is the rateI plan on stopping in here for a lunch break whenever I have time. I love this concept so much.Update, this is my new routine if I have any spare time during the day.

I am a sad college student, who needed some cats in my life, and I can say after my first visit to Coffee Cat I will be returning. I got their special latte the ātuxedoā which has dark chocolate and toasted marshmallow flavor, and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and clearly care for this place. The cats were lovely, my favorite were the tuxedos, but you can tell these cats are living the dream. I think you can also tell from this review I am a fan of tuxedo cats.

We showed up assuming this was a chill coffee shop with a cat lounge area to sit and enjoy your coffee with the cats, if you choose. Unfortunately, the cat lounge is pretty much a separate entity and forces you to pay to just spend time with the cats. We ended up not staying since we had to have an appointment anyways. Really disappointed this is more of a commercialized version of a cat cafe, where others shops like this just let you just hang out with the cats if you choose if you buy a drink. The place feels like they care more about making money from the cats rather than letting people just come and enjoy the cats company with a cup coffee. Iād even rather pay extra for the coffee, rather than making a reservation to sit in the lounge to just play with the cats (if they even feel like it). Very missed opportunity here and I hope they update their business model to improve the experience in the future.

It was a very fun experience, but the more people that were let in the more the cats became timid. There were 10 people in there at once and a lot of cats were hiding because the room was packed. I also think that their should be an age limit for kids because a lot of kids donāt respect the cats personal space. But overall playing with the cats were so much fun and the workers were super nice!

Itās a nice place overall, but I expected a more open area for the cats to roam around. At a Cat Cafe, you should be able to eat with the cats, not be separated from them entirely. The whole shop is separated by a glass window, and the workers are cleaning every second. I was sort of surprised on how it was so clean, no cat fur whatsoever! The food is decent, I recommend the Pumpkin Bar if you enjoy a nice fresh treat. However, it could be a bit more fresh considering it was only packaged in plastic wrap, no care for the appearance of the food, I assume. They could totally have this place represented more, and it has potential! The cats also have some fights, which again, isnāt the staffās fault..One thing that REALLY bothers me is when people just start tapping on the glass. It makes me want to actually rip my hair out. I shoot them a dirty look, they smile and continue to do it. Itās annoying as can be. Most bystanders are actually very rude to you if you even look at them, which makes no sense since they are actually annoying me, when I pay for this. Itās also annoying just to see people sitting in the cafe, staring at the cats while theyāre eating. Again, they should just be roaming around. Overall, if youāre irritable like me, I dont recommend you visit. Itās not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere!
