Excellent little home town pet store. Carry's most of your essentials and a wide variety of animals and products. Staff is friendly and cares about their animals. Always clean and well maintained!Only negative is that it's a beginner/simple, setup/animal store. Some intermediate animals and mainly basic equipment. All in great condition and will work just perfectly. A store with a great community could potentially be able to "up their game" along with setups equipment supplements and much much more! Be patient with employees because things run out fast!!! And if they don't have what you're looking for they are more than happy to order online for you!!

Awesome local fish store! Drive here from Ottumwa since we can't get fish anywhere locally anymore. Good enough selection of freshwater fish that are healthy. Gentleman that helps me is super friendly and helpful /knowledgeable.

I went into this local shop to get live plants for my aquarium, they had NONE! All the plastic plants were covered with crud. The sales person never acknowledged us, after I finally got his attention, I asked about plants, he informed me they would be in soon and turned away. Ok, fine, so we looked around at the furry pets, the guinea pigs had no water and kept trying to get from the bottles, so I again contacted the clerk, who ignored me. I went to the counter so he had to see me and gave a grunt when I told him they needed water. Ok, fine, so then we watched the birds. I love birds! They obviously had lice, scratching their heads and no feathers around their necks...sorry, but if you have animals in your care and are selling them, you should give them at least minimum care. I would never shop there again and I feel for the poor animals...sadly I had to give at least one star to give a review, otherwise i would have subtracted stars. I hope the owner sees this!!!

I was very surprised and impressed with this pet store. It has all kinds of rocks and driftwood to choose for my aquariums and many different animals and fish. The Guy who was working there was very helpful and friendly and made me feel welcomed.

They have done a staff change and everyone is extremely nice and if they don't know the answer to a question they can find out. They special order what I want and it comes in quick.

I really wanted to give this local small business a chance but over the past 6 months i have spent about$40-50 on fish from this store and EVERY one was sick and died. Steer clear of this place its not worth the hassle.

Love this place... I have been going here ever since it opened... Love the people that work there. They are always ready to answer questions, I love how they can be themselves, and be honest about their products and animals, fish. They also have better prices then most pet store, I went to pet supplies plus and looked at a Marine Land canister filtration system and it was going to cost me 160$ not including tax. I went to coral reef their canister filters 129$.

The place stinks so bad and the guys working had no idea about the pets in the store. They also said the chinchillas were baby's that was not true.So I would never step foot in that store again

These guys are the best. They have helped me learn so much about how to care for my snakes. They happily answer my 400 questions when I come in there. The girl that is a herpatologist is amazing. The hours are great too. I love this place!

For a store called coral reef you would think they would have a decent amount of salt water fish and products. I wanted to purchase a piece of rock and the worker refused to sell it because it had something growning on a it. He also didn't know what each item was when I asked. The customer service was mediocre at best. I had to interrupt him and his friends that were hanging at the counter. Sorry just not impressed drove hour and a half to Davenport.

Great place to look around and the prices aren't bad either. They mostly deal in fish and aquatic animals and coral. They have a few snakes, tortoise, exotic frogs, and a few regular and dwarf hampsters. We spent 20-25 minutes just looking around and it actually didn't seem that long. I recommend this pet store to anyone looking for any kind of pet or pet supplies 😉😉

The girl with glasses and piercings who is over weight was EXTREMELY RUDE. KNOW IT ALL ATTITUDE. LITERALLY OFF PUTTING. CUSTOMER IS PRIORITY. When you have a business your employees must treat your customers with respect regardless of age, experience etc. They can drive away loyal and repeat customers. Needs fired. And replaced.

For a small pet store its a pet store. Not a chain. The owners and 2 staff are very nice and helpfulAnd one of their staff has a horrible attitude. The owners are very knowledgeable about how to help a sick animal as well. The stock to choose from is very good. Prices are like any other pet store.

Nice selection, but picked up new fish here and ended up with ick. In the process of trying to get rid of it lost about 130 dollars worth of fish which they wouldnt replace. I know it can happen anywhere but would have been good business practice to replace my loss.

Could be better organized, but the animals appear to be well cared for. The staff seem to know what they are talking about when I ask them questions about a given animal. It can be a bit difficult to get someone to help you at times, but for the most part, it is a good place to buy pets and supplies.
