I literally cannot say enough good about Dr. Mallen and the staff at Avenue of the Saints! They remembered my cat from his very first visit, even though he is not especially remarkable to anyone besides myself. They knew and brought up things from his last visit. This was so sweet. My cat had to go through a long and convoluted process for our move abroad, and I thought I had everything under control because I had done it before. Rookie mistake: things were NOT under control. Luckily, Dr. Mallen tracked down all of the answers we needed including but not limited to calling the actual Embassy of Korea to inquire about the process. It was so frustrating but she was so so helpful and by the end of it, it felt like we went to war together. She was emailing at 10:30pm the night before we left to make sure everything was in order for my little guy to safely move. I felt so bad for all of the stress but the staff was so gracious. Ultimately a bonding experience and I will forever recommend to anyone in the area. 10/10 I will be inviting Dr. Mallen to officiate my wedding.💗

We used Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital for a breeding with our Golden. We live almost 3 hours away, and yet they made the long distance process easy and efficient. They were always willing to answer phone call questions and were quick to call me back.The breeding process was smooth and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly and again, made the whole process go smoothly. Our Golden was very comfortable.Even during a crazy holiday week, they worked us into their schedule and were overall wonderful to work with!Thankful for all the staff!

Couldn’t recommend them enough. All the techs are great and very personable! Their groomer Makayla is incredible, we have a doodle and always worry about him needing fully shaved but she has never had to, she clearly takes her time to get his matts out! Dr. Mallen is so easy to talk to and express concerns to, she is amazing at keeping you updated and aware of everything!

So with a previous office in Hudson, I had a terrible experience with previous vet who did the surgery on my dog- just a few lipomas removed. Needless to say, I had an awful experience with this previous vet so I was really nervous about finding a new vet. This office made me and my boy feel so welcomed, easy going, my dog wasn’t very happy having his sutures removed and the girl who helped us was very patient with him. I went to the front desk afterwards expecting to pay- to my surprise there was no charge!!! For someone who is on a budget- that’s huge for us 😅 At the end of the day, my boy was taken care of and we had the best service throughout the whole maybe 20 minutes we were there. Will DEFINITELY go back and use them as my vet. 😊

I don't remember for certain when we first began taking our pets to the Avenue of Saints Animal Hospital, but I believe it was close to the opening of the hospital in 1994. Doctor Frost, and then Dr. Mallen have treated many of our cats and one dog over all those years. I am always confident that my pets will will be treated with the greatest care available. I also value the relationships I have developed with the Doctors and the other staff over the years. If anyone was to ask me for a recommendation for a place to take their beloved pets, I would immediately recommend the Avenue of Saints Animal Hospital.

I've been a client since 2000, I do not plan to change that. Since then, they have taken care of my 9 dogs and 1 cat and provided quality care during their lives and eventually with the inevitable loss of them. I prefer Avenue of the Saints Animal Hospital due to their knowledge, professionalism, personal care and the friendly atmosphere of the veterinarians, techs and other employees. Your animals are their animals, you are not just another client.

So let me tell you a story. I live 90 miles from Waverly, but Drs. Frost and Mallen have been my vets for decades. I regularly live with about 8 rescue dogs of many sizes and ages, and have had kitties as well. Once I had a dog I had to take to the emergency vet in Cedar Rapids in the middle of the night. They asked me who my regular vet was, and I said, "Dr. Phyllis Frost." The admitting vet put down her pen and stared at me: "REALLY?!? You KNOW she's the best small animal vet in Iowa, don't you?" Yes, I know that, and Dr. Mallen is as good as her mother. That's why I drive 180 miles round trip for the best veterinary care in the state. When I'm out-of-town, my critters are in Waverly at summer camp, where I sometimes think they get better care than they do at home. This is, by far, the best veterinary practice I've ever seen, and I've seen plenty over the years! If I could give them 20 stars I would.
